This might be TMI, but the reason your mouth waters (and most people) before vomiting (or before you think you might vomit) is because it is meant to protect your mouth and upper esophagus from the acidity of gastric juices. Stomach acid is about pH 2 and we have mucosal lining that protects the stomach from digesting itself, but we don't have the same mucus in our mouths or upper esophagus. So salivating helps protect the tissue a bit more and can help dilute the acid a bit! The human body is so cool.

I didn't read the comments so I'm not sure if others have told you, but depending on the strength of the peel and your skin type, you're often not supposed to get hot or sweaty for up to 72 hours afterwards. Heat (heavy exercise, warm sun, hot lights, etc) can "reactivate" a peel and cause bubbling/blanching. Basically the peel goes deeper into the skin. The best course of action for me has been to just cool down my face, ice it, and moisturize heavily.
This has happened to me in the past if I did anything other than low impact pilates/yoga for 3 days after a medium depth peel. It happened once where my cheeks bubbled (my most sensitive area) because I sat outside in the sun and like 75° F about 48 hours after. Only took about 15 minutes outside for it to happen!
I'm so sorry they didn't tell you! It's irresponsible not to provide instruction and after care info to be honest. It's possible to scar if someone doesn't know what's happening and how to care for it. ❤️

@@allanaramaa not guaranteeing that's what happened because I don't know the exact peel you got and if you "frosted" and blanched (I'm also no expert lol), but it's highly possible. It will be okay and you'll be totally fine tho bb just moisturize 😘

Limewash is best used on porous surfaces like stucco & brick. Approximately 3+ thin coats are used. The color will go on dark & lighten up as it dries and will sink into the surface, that’s why it’s usually done on a porous surface to give it something to hang onto and give the texture/coloring you desire. Maybe try a slightly darker color, but put a texture on your walls first. As for the slatted wall, I would do a wider plank so it doesn’t look so busy to the eye. I hope this helps. I really enjoyed your vlog and it’s always nice to see you both in a video. Thanks for sharing.🤗💕

If you’re still not sure about the lime wash, my tip would be to water it down a little more than you are already, and you’ve just got to keep layering. Our whole house is lime wash (super old building) and most rooms took about five coats. Also unfortunately lighter tones just don’t show the texture as well as deeper colours.

This is what I tell my clients after a chemical peel: no exercise for 72 to 96 hours, we do not want to create information in the body nor get hot and sweaty - light walks with a hat and spf is fine and stretching yoga is ok. No AHAs nor BHAs for 3 to 5 days no retinol or physical exfoliation for 5 to 7 days. Sunscreen always went out in the sun, touch the face with clean hands only, and make sure you’re double cleansing at night to make sure you’re getting off all the sunscreen so you don’t get any buildup. Redness is normal.

I also love lime wash paint! In fact, we’ve done 2 accent walls in our home as well, but we had to lay down two coats of lime wash base before we could apply our lime wash paint in order to the best results. We bought ours from a company in California since we’re in the States. You can really see the texture, but in a gentle “leathery” way, and was definitely more so after our second coat. Perhaps yours is an all-in-one and a lighter color, but wonder if that could be why it doesn’t look as dramatic as what you were hoping for?

Yes! I too get the shaky loopy nauseous weirdness, and my doc and I have narrowed it down to Reactive Hypoglycaemia. Give it a gander on the internet but it sounds the same. Always a couple hours after a meal and when I’m up and around and moving. Same for me- you eat a bite and that helps, but then you’re completely exhausted after. Doesn’t happen all the time, it’s pretty random, but I’ve narrowed it down for me to post-breakfast mostly. This doesn’t help any because there’s no fix for if, but for me it helped to know it’s a real thing.

The lime wash is such a good idea! As for the wood I would go for the grey one, because the black one might be a bit confusing and uncomfortable for the eye from afar. We have a wall like the dark one at my university, and everyone feels dizzy looking at it because it kind of blends together!😅

If you are looking to spend time in nature, visit North Vancouver! The trails in upper Lynn valley are beautiful! My vote is for the darker wood with the light background. If you don’t have the option to switch it around then go light! You may get tired of the black.

  • @melissamorse

For your backdrop maybe look into vinyl printed photography backdrops. There are tonnes available in different prints/sizes and you can just hang it on the wall using metal strips with magnets. Then it’s easy to change them out and you don’t have to deal with a bulky backdrop stand being in the way. I think you had a good idea with the lime wash, but with your bright studio lights you need something with more exaggerated texture to actually show up. I really like the wood slats with the grey. The wood/black might be too contrasty to go with your usual style/brand. Good luck deciding!

I’m so sorry you had that experience with the facial! For what it’s worth, every time I’ve had a chemical peel, I do experience that tight and kind of melty skin feeling (I know exactly what you’re talking about) BUT I’ve always been sent home with specific after care products and instructions on how to care for my face in the days following! That place was super negligent to have a) not been informing you of what they were doing as they were doing it, and b) not explicitly informing you of the fact that they were, indeed, performing a chemical peel! I have a Fig membership and I love it. It’s a quick in and out situation, not luxurious but still super lovely. 💫

That facial experience looked horrifying to me, I don’t agree that anything should burn or tingle to that extent that the client feels uncomfortable, if it’s burning then it should be removed straight away, I would never go to that place again for a facial, especially when the therapist doesn’t even communicate with the client throughout the procedure. I’m glad your skin has healed after such a trauma. Sending hugs 😍🥰😍

You've probably already figured this out re: limewash/painting, but you have to go a few shades darker to make it visible and to keep the texture intact... I deal with this all the time for work building sets as an art director. Lights will blow out texture AND color, so you kind of have to take a risk and go darker if you're lighting it the way you are (for a set). But you can definitely still get the limewash look! It will just look much darker when not lit. Maybe try on a canvas first to test?? also love all your looks in this vid xx

Now I say I have baby skin or I just don’t go😂 hopefully it’ll heal up quick! Also I don’t feel like it’s your fault at all. If you’re a skincare specialist listening to the client and informing them throughout is crucial!

If your wanting to add texture to the wall I've seen people use those holey yellow sponges and you just tap it on to provide texture

I have seen other videos with lime wash where they dry brush two similar colors over one another to build depth and texture.

Welcome back sunshine!! Been off IG and I’ve missed ya!! No ideas for your backdrop but I know you will do something spectacular!! It’s raining and cold in VC and in the 100’s in Missouri 109 today!! Hope your beautiful face is better!

I like the lighter wood. As for the lime-wash. I think you need something with more texture. As you use your camera the background usually blurs out. Maybe try a fun sponge texture or use a darker wash over it to add the texture in? Love your videos. I’m sorry about your experience with the facial. I hope your skin feels calm again soon.

I get tiny bumps and blisters on my skin (it feels like rough stone) if I use sunscreen or anything with salicylic acid - my doctor says it's contact dermatitis and an allergic reaction. I have to avoid all SPF products unless they are purely zinc based.
It sounds as though the acids literally burnt your top layer of skin. Applying heat during or after a chemical peel isn't usually recommended, but I could be wrong. Also, I thought you could have extractions and a chemical peel in the same session? Extractions case micro-tears in the skin, so it's not great to apply acids to that?

Always love your vlogs!! Very nice to watch whilst cooking! You could ask skincare queen Caroline Hirons about your facial??!
Perhaps is the colour Drop Cloth from farrow and ball nice as background. It’s definitely not white, but a mix of all colours that makes a very nice beige green greyish. I’ve got it on my walls and ceilings and it makes literary everything more beautiful! It pickes op colours so beautiful and nice. So not a special colour on its one but it makes everything in front of it pop (yourself, plants, art) 🤩

i googled the lime wash and apparently it depends on the type of wall you have, for certain materials you need a primer. And also not using the roller, you have to use a wide brush with long bristles in order to get the effect. Also using 3 thin layers. (:

Hi! You should try Skoah, I believe they have locations in Vancouver. I’m in Calgary and go regularly and live the whole experience. They also have a monthly plan program and power facials. Products are clean and it’s Canadian 🇨🇦

The first time I had extractions with my esthetician she went DEEP, it was very painful and I did look fully wounded after. But after a couple of days using the Alumier recovery balm I looked great. Same thing for micro needling, I got that done two weeks ago and I looked crazy and now that I’m healed up a bit my skin is just so much smoother.

I’ve been SOOO curious to try micro needling!! What was your overall experience like? I had booked in and they told me that best practice was to get one every 3-4 weeks and I’m like ma’am what 😭😂

@@allanaramaa So I’m good with needles, it was almost the same sensation of getting a tattoo which I don’t find very painful but everyone is different with that. I have a lot of acne scarring on my cheeks so I’m going to diminish or get rid of the texture and dark spots that are there. You can’t get it if you have active acne because the needles would puncture the zit and spread that bacteria over your face which is no bueno. And the healing process kind of sucks, you have to exist like a vampire for a bit and stay out of the sun and I used a super gentle cleanser I got from my esthetician and then that Alumier recovery balm every day for the first week until my skin looks less visibly irritated. I’ve only had one session so I can’t talk to the full results yet but I do notice a difference in my scarring for sure and I will be going every 4 weeks until I’m happy with where my skin is at which hurts my heart and my wallet 😂 but honestly with your skin I would be surprised if you needed more than 2 sessions if there was any texture you wanted to correct. I’m not a professional but I feel like dermaplaning would be enough for you

Glad to have you guys back, I certainly missed you! For the background I like either a plain wall, or just some simple wall panelling, everything else just feels too distracting. But whatever you guys choose, I'm sure it will be good, as I can really see the effort you put into the studio. it's highly appreciated! ❤

I've only seen lime wash be used over an existing textured surface. Here in Texas alot of the homes have a textured drywall called "Knockdown drywall" it looks rustic and almost like stucco if you did that before painting, it would look amazing.
