much has been said about the quality of makeup in your videos, to which I can’t really contribute more (my way of saying I’m joining the chorus of admirers here), however I have to point out that the big breath of fresh air that you are in the current influencer landscape is that you’re not trying to sell us anything… no sponsors, no “go buy this now,” no trying makeup for the sake of trying makeup, just LOOKS. The pure joy of makeup, without the consumerism. I have a pretty limited makeup collection yet every video you post leaves me feeling like I could give the look a go just for fun. Thank you ❤️
I really love the 80’s looks. So unaplogetically full on full coverage x1000%. They didn’t even bother trying to make it look natural. I would adore an 80’s series of videos. The looks might not be something I would wear but they are so FUN to try!
I grew up watching pixiwoo in the first days of RUclips. I’ve recently got back into the watching you again and my god Sam you are as beautiful as ever. I always thought you looked like a model. Always serving face. ❤ I absolutely adored the video of Addicted to love when I was a kid, I became a makeup artist later In life haha the signs were there.
You have the perfect face for this look! Cheekbones for miles and the pop of black liner with your gorgeous light green eyes. I remember that video coming out and you nailed the vibe❤
You rock this look incredibly! For a moment, I thought Helena Christensen was in the thumbnail. I could never pull this look off, but it was cool to watch you recreate it
I know it’s eighties, but Sam your eyes look stunning …your bone structure of your face is perfection with the slicked back hair! I love it! You could wear that makeup at an event in 2025 ❤
one of my all time faves pop music makeup looks done to perfection - the tawny blush is a revelation - love your tv film and music-video based stuff - please keep it coming! Happy new year xo
No fast-forwarding. No unnecessary, irritating music; to me, their presence is stressful; thank you for excluding them. First time watching. This was just the way I like makeup videos to be
This turned out perfectly! It brought me back to doing my makeup in the 80s, where one could try different bold looks, and that was okay because that was "the thing." I think your time invested in this look had 100% payoff
Categorically one of the most iconic makeup looks of the 80s, if not of all time, and one of my absolute favourites. As always you’ve taught me so much about the precision of the technique and the subtle nuances of the aesthetic, and executed it to absolute perfection. I suppose it doesn’t hurt that your glacial beauty and infuriatingly good bone structure are a rather good canvas to start from. Bravo, as usual.
This is flawless! Even the mirror grid behind you and the leather jacket with padded shoulders. Please tell us you are wearing Paloma Picasso perfume to top it all off ❤
You look so good. It's so interesting to hear about the make-up artists that created the looks to begin with. More videos like this would be fab. Happy New Year! x
This was great fun to watch. Gorgeous, sexy, 80's glam all the way! I was 19 in 1985 so this is extra special to me personally! Love you Sam ❤️. Best wishes for 2025! 🎉
I was 18. Several of Robert Palmer's videos had glamorous women in them - Addicted to Love, Simply Irresistible, and I didn't Mean to Turn You On. I think the last in that list was my fave. Those were the days.
What a pleasure to watch this video. You look soooo beautiful and I have a vivid remembrance of how I used to do my makeup in the 80's. It was not so easy 😂 no eye brushes at all, just those little sponges with your eyeshadow (single eyeshadow, no palettes), no prebase for the eyes, no highlighter, just ONE blush. No such many brands as today, I think all of my makeup was from Margaret Astor, Max Factor and Rimmel 😂 It did not matter, we were young and happy, but I'd wish to have a little makeup back to the future. Nobody would believe me!
wow you look exactly like those eighties models! I remember them so well, as a child of the seventies/eighties! And yes those ads OMD! they were the BOMBD! I remember so many of them still! the one with the bounty island and the one for Tia Maria the liqor!
WOW. Oh Sam, you are so incredibly stunningly beautiful. Your eyes are mesmerising and those cheekbones are to die for, very supermodel-esk. Such gorgeous makeup. When I saw the thumbnail I instantly thought of the girls in the Robert Palmer Addicted to Love video. It really took me back to my teens. It was also so lovely to have longer form content from you. I could honestly watch you for hours. LOVED this tutorial so much! Btw, how was the party and the music? Did you have a good old boogie? How were everyone elses looks? I can imagine a few Cindy Lauper and Boy George looks too. Great decade.
I graduated high school when this video was out. Thanks for the journey back to the 80’s makeup! Your eyes are gorgeous! I love this series of videos when you visit movie looks!
So I totally clicked on this for the thumbnail and haven’t even watched more than 5 seconds, but just had to tell you-you have the most gorgeous face I’ve seen in ages! Such a unique, fresh, modern look, with the most stunning eyes-as a straight lady who admires my beautiful sisters, just wow!! The perfect canvas for cool makeup💄💖
Happy New Year, Sam. Gorgeous!!!!!! I LOVE the eighties make-up, especially the early eighties, the punk- and new romantics make-up. That video of you doing Siouxsie Sioux's make-up was the first video of you I watched. Could you do that one again, please? Eventhough I am 58 years old, I still wear that kind of make-up (luckily I do not look like 58 yet🤭), so I love to see videos of that era.
I absolutely love this!!! I remember just how iconic that MV was when it came out bc of those ladies (and the bangin’ song!)! You pulled off this look perfectly!!!
Thank you so much for this tutorial. Please never hesitate to do looks like these the 80's are such an underrated era to cover over here on youtube. Happy New Year!
I think "Addicted To Love" was the first time I was influenced by pop culture to replicate a look. I remember I was around 5 or 6 when I saw a bit of the video, thinking the ladies had such a cool look, and searching for the reddest lipstick I could find in my stackable kid lipsticks so I could try to do the look on myself. Then, I stood in front of the mirror making fashion faces. 😂 I think you more than did this one justice and it looks stunning on you. Thank you for sharing and Happy New Year! 😊
Good morning SAM ... An 80´s Party is always so much fun, and I absolutely love the models look on the Robert Palmer videos. Your look stunning 🌟Grace Jones for Citroën was also such an iconic ad. Have a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous 2025💜!!
Thank you for coming back to RUclips. I am here for whatever looks you want to do. It's always more enjoyable when you do the stuff you truly love, because your enthusiasm is obvious. I know you need to balance the algorithm and making money with the artistic side, but I'm hoping that this time around RUclips can be your creative space so you can do HBC in Fight club for example, without having to caveat with "I know this won't be for everyone". Happy New Year!
So cool! You nailed the look to the T. I remember everyone wearing this look after the video came out. Oh! The good old days! Loved how everything turned out!♥️💯💄✌🏽
I had no idea you were back on RUclips and I'm ecstatic to make the discovery that you are!!! I've watched you for over 10 years, one of my absolute FAVORITES! ❤
Thank you doing this classic look! I would to the sky bleu/ dark bleu/green smokey, other classics like Biba, modern version of twiggy.. lip contouring ( like the 90.s supermodel ) etc.. i appriciate you share your skills! Happy newyear🎉
My mom wore a drugstore cake liner and basically stopped wearing makeup when they discontinued it. She would never spend on cosmetics. It was subtle, but I even remember noticing the definition when she used it.
Love how you make looks from different decades. Please continue to do so, maybe a series on how makeup have evolved from the 1900´s up till today. i especially love the 40´s, 50´s, 60´s and 70´s ❤🧡
Happy new year Sam! ❤🎉and yes this is one of the looks I strive for over the years, toned down or slightly altered to go with every different occasion. It's THE Classic! The Song also is a big fave....😊
It's magic!! I kept repeating, "Trust the process"because black is a very slippery slope. You NAILED it 🎉👏👏👏. So I have to know...did you do the dance moves from the video?
Unbelievable! Truly, all your videos are fun to watch (you are intelligent funny, stunning and a great makeup artist). But this one is just incredible. I stopped watching and still smiling, this was such a fun and cool look on you. I hope you had a great night to go with it.
I was just absolutely mesmerized watching this, just stunning. Perfection in every detail 💋 I hope you had a blast at the party and a very happy new year to you, Sam 🥂
As an 80’s girl, this is fabulous and fierce! Wish you could see my 80’s look. Big hair etc! Blusher in the cheek hollows! I’ve always thought you had a natural 80’s supermodel bone structure look!
Beautiful makeup look, application, and execution. I recall when the Addicted To Love music video first came out, the makeup look in it was so quintessential 1980s severe glam. If your eye color was green, you'd be a dead ringer for Amber Valletta.
More of this style of tutorial would be great. There are fascinating makeup artists that rarely get recognized for their work! It has been one of the most iconic videos ever, and yes I taped it onto VHS😱😱😱. ClaudiaSJI
Oooh! I remember being a kid when that video was out! Everyone kept going on about some was models and some was dancers. I thought they all looked gorgeous! I’d love to see Annie Lennox makeup! Her looks was always so gorgeous! I really like her Whiter Shade of Pale look, and of course the debut Eurythmics album cover.
Love love this look. I, too, remember this video and look and how impactful it was. A little black dress never looked so good. 1 question. I would love to know what you bring with you for touch-ups. Although I love purses, I hate to carry them or to much at parties. Wondering if you always carry lip stick..nothing..everything with you😊 Your channel is the best so enjoy your work. Cheers 🎉
Not much. The layering and powdering means that this makeup isn’t moving at all. I took a tiny mirror. The Chanel lip product and a concealer that I didn’t need to use at all.
I would love to see an Annie Lennox inspired look next
Oh gosh yes, and a Boy George inspired look would be awesome!
I could hear "No More I Love Yous" start when I read this.
YES
Yuuuus this would be fab
I think we’re seeing it
It's funny, before I even read the title I saw the thumbnail and thought "looks like a Robert Palmer vid" you nailed it!
Yup!! I wore this look in the eighties❤ Wore a long black halter dress with a wide red patent leather belt ❤
"99% makeup, 1% face" I love that!
Man the 80s were hot! This is giving 80s YSL runway supermodel 🖤❤️❤️🔥
She's Nadja Auermann!! 🤩

Sam is a genius! Standard 80’s make-up is incredibility hard to pull off, but to replicate this particular look perfectly, blows my mind.
I grew up watching pixiwoo in the first days of RUclips. I’ve recently got back into the watching you again and my god Sam you are as beautiful as ever. I always thought you looked like a model. Final look is STUNNING
She has a very rare eye color, simply stunning. I have green eyes and my daughter has a very light blue/grey just so pretty!
Your makeup is art!
Might as well face it, I'm addicted to this makeup!!! Happy New Year!!!
I laughed out loud at “Croydon facelift” - I suspect only Brits of a certain age will know what that is 😂
I bolted to the comments to find my kindred spirits from the 80s🤣 You did this look honour and didn't make fun of it at all❤
You rock this look incredibly! For a moment, I thought Helena Christensen was in the thumbnail. I could never pull this look off, but it was cool to watch you recreate it
Yes! That’s who she looks like!
I know it’s eighties, but Sam your eyes look stunning …your bone structure of your face is perfection with the slicked back hair! I love it! You could wear that makeup at an event in 2025 ❤

So good. What I love as well is the level of detail you bring and the thought process behind it all not to mention the history.
Loooove watching your videos! So therapeutic! You can blab on for ages for all I care. 🤩
Oh thank you!
Wow that's bang on the 80's.....stunning
Thanks so much Maureen x
I have been following you since you started on youtube, and this moment is the one I was waiting for. YES!!!!
Absolutely gorgeous. I love the 80's look.
This is flawless! Even the mirror grid behind you and the leather jacket with padded shoulders. Please tell us you are wearing Paloma Picasso perfume to top it all off ❤
Or Ralph Lauren "Lauren"
You look absolutely amazing!! Makes me wish the 80’s would come back, other than the 3 hrs it took to get ready! Wowza!
That is the most expensive looking cat eye I have seen. A true makeup artist here
WOW! Mind-blown! Utter 80’s perfection!
Fantastic makeup.Im 76 and remember in my,20s using a deep plummy shadow well below my lower lids.Looked good in the evening
Honestly, I would love it if this kind of extra dramatic makeup would come back for certain occasions. I love it and you look fabulous.
You look so good. It's so interesting to hear about the make-up artists that created the looks to begin with. More videos like this would be fab. Happy New Year! x

You took me back to my late teens. Thank you for doing such a great job on the makeup. Hope you had a great night!
Thank you! You too!

It’s wild that so many incredible looks came from the 80s really!

Love that video, takes me back - what a great idea to do the make-up from it. Love how much you're enjoying yourself, too.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching x
This has been My Look for almost 20 years, but I have to say - I've learned a lot of new tweaks from this video, so thanks!
24:04 is really a snapshot of some 80s music video (dont mind the quality improvement) 😂❤
I did this for halloween one year, one of my favorite makeup looks ever! Great job!!
Thanks so much 😊

The second that song comes on, it starts the party
I love it. The 80’s is so cool. Putting makeup on with no fear. I was a teen in the 80’s.
It's magic!! I kept repeating, "Trust the process"because black is a very slippery slope. You NAILED it 🎉👏👏👏. So I have to know...did you do the dance moves from the video?
🤣 I think I might’ve. It’s all a bit of a blur 😇
I was wondering the same thing. Lol. It's just gotta be done!
Glorious! That Addicted To Love video is iconic, and you totally nailed the look.. ❤❤❤

That 80s advert, yes a classic! Happy New Year Sam 🎉
So well done. I have loved this makeup since I saw the video on MTV. I need to have this as my daily office look! 🥰
I love the look of. I took a look at the Addicted to Love video and your look is spot on!
Thank you. Thats helpful as I think I some times dont set my make up enough. Im encouraged now to find long wear items for these occasions thank you
Wow❤ you look straight from a 80"s magazine, i love it🥰
