I bought the ebook from Frank when I tell you I learned a lot plus I saved way more money than just watching the videos on line that spead sheet helps especially when shoping for everything this I guy amazing Frank keep going 💪🏾 in this unlimited world y’all this guy the tha goat with the herd
Frank, great videos and thanks for the intel. The only problem I see is that plumber’s putty should be used on the top sink side instead of the paper gasket. The gasket should be used on the bottom side directly under the strainer before tightening the 3” nut. It’s also better to add a sanitary Tee with clean out instead of the regular 90 coming off your first drain
Don't forget IPC requires an air gap or air break for the drainage from a 3 comp sink. I've tried finding another way to look at it, like IPC section 1301.5 and section 608 but at 1 1/2" air break and air gap are the best outside of a doublecheck backflow prevention assembly, which is costly. Some states have made that variance from IPC to allow backflow preventers like that on trucks.
You are so helpful’ I thank you’. I’m building as we speak!! I use your videos as guidance’ I have a little knowledge but always helps to have someone that’s been there!! Knowledge is power!! Thanks again.
Good afternoon Frank. First thanks for helping me build my food trailer. Your videos have been the most help. I have a question about the seaflo pump and my tankless heater. I connected everything wrong. I need help understanding how they connect to get hot water and sink water in general. Any help is greatly appreciated.
From the water pump goes to the input of the heater and the hot water comes out from the output side thing on the water heater. They should be labeled on there hopefully
You need some traps man. Trap at the end of your 3 comp sink and a trap on the hand sink. Also curious if you vented the sinks? You prob will have some back up problems if you run the hand sink and 3 comp sink at the same time , because where you tied the hand sink into the drain from the 3 comp sink you used a dwv tee on its side which you can’t do that you need to use a directional fitting like a dwv wye. But you have a good starting point of plumbing just need to get the ins and outs down a little
I’m building and plumbing is the hardest thing I have to do. I want to be done by Mid January. My food truck is for ice cream so it’s not really big everything is done but the sink I am ordering everything from Amazon except a few different things because I will not be using propane and don’t need as much water as you do. So you are such a big help. Can you post a video about the water pressure heater? pump set up I don’t have many plugs so I’m trying to see how you configured yours.
Greetings from Ontario, and thank you for your videos which are extremely helpful. I am trying to find the best electric water heater. Any recommendations? Thanks :)
Hey Frank, great videos but I'm wondering if I need to run a drain from the fresh water down to the the gray water outlet? I saw that you put in a completely separate run-off valve for it. I was thinking I would just run a garden hose out of the trailer when I needed to drain the fresh water tank.
Frank I see the plumbing going from the 3 bay sink to the trap adapter to the hand sink...how and where does it get connected to the gray water tank....please tell me because I e never do e this before....
I'm trying to figure out two things: 1) Do i need some type of permit to do the plumbing on my food trailer or can i just do it as long as it is propertly done. 2) around how much dos the plumbing cost? not the sinks, just the pumbing, water heater, pump and all of that. thanks!
That depends on the requirements from your HD and Fire Department. My HD and FD do not require you to be licensed to do it only the Suppression System. You mean like the sinks and everything or just the PVC?
Frank, first off, thank you for the videos. They are a great help in getting started down this road. I have a question though. I'm planning to operate in Arizona, which has some fairly stringent NSF requirements. Do you know of any reputable brands that manufacture tankless, propane driven water heaters that have a reasonable price tag such as the Excel water heater that you use?
Hey Frank! Did you have any issues getting the brass nut (slip joint nut) screwed on to the bottom of the hand sink drain basket? I am having a hell of a time screwing it on. Its at 11:04 of this video it kinda looks like you ran into the same issue but then you got passed it. If I dont put the clear gasket in, im able to screw it on easily. But with the gasket in there, forget it. Plumbing isn't one of my strong suits so it might just be my inexperience getting the best of me.
That one is tricky because you think its going in right and then gets crossed threaded, It took me a couple tries but I just kept trying and trying with light force
First, thank you so much for doing these videos!!! I just bought a trailer that has everything complete except for the plumbing. I At 12:00 of the video you talk about the different trap adapters. I don't understand why there is a difference. Can you explain that? Also, I'm a little confused about the shape of the T-fitting (10:51 of the video) How does that work for the handwash sink? Does the water just flow past that fitting and then come back again? And why don't you need a stopper for both sinks? Can't the water from the handwash sink technically flow back into the other sinks just the same as the water in the gray water tub?
Hey man! I’ve learned a TON from your series! I’m doing a mobile coffee trailer and have the exact same tanks. One thing, don’t you have to plumb a p-trap in for smell? I’m asking because I don’t know but I thought you needed one. Thanks for the videos man!!!
Good morning, I don't have any smell all the water flushes out completely everytime. This is how Domino's Pizza has it no P Traps on all 25 stores I visit on my projects.
Hey Colin, How did your build go? I am also planning a coffee truck build and has been following Franks’ series which provide very useful information. 👌
Thanks for the feedback! I chose propane because Electric you would need a bigger generator. Which means more money and a heavier noisier generator. I used propane for my cooking equipment and it was a good combination. Any questions, let me know
@@fbaltierrez Good morning , Love your videos !! Any chance i can contact you to show you the setup on mine?? I just bought a used food trailer and want to redo my system, would appreciate it if i could send you some pictures and get some advice from you!!
Frank, can you please send me a list of all of the pvc fittings I need? I have so many videos I’ve watched and saved that I don’t know where the list of for that. Much appreciated, Veronica
Could you tell us if all 3-vertical tail pipes coming down from the sink to the horizontal drain pipe are the same length? It looks as though the first one is shorst??? Also, is there a need for a breather to allow free flow of the drain water to the gray water tank?
They still all have to cut to length they will be different sizes to allow for flow to waste tank and no breather is needed at least I haven't seen the need for one on this set up water flows nicely.
@@fbaltierrez it is shorter. You want pitch going towards the waste tank and you are supoose to have a vent on this set up. (Breather) so your correct. It will still work without. But if you drain all 3-4 drains at once it may slow it down a little. If it works it works. But code does say to put a vent in.
As long as code catcher doesn't catch it. Id leave it. Because your gonna be just fine without the vent. With 4 sinks your venting out of each sink base whej you use 1 sink if that makes sense. So therefore the only time you'll have a little trouble is if you dump water down 4 drains at once. Which is prob never.. so try to send it without a vent and if code guy catches it which I doubt they will. You can easily add a studder vent in after.
@@FamilyChannelfun32 Thanks for saying that, it being gravity flow to the tank I was certain that there needed to be some drop (angle) in the pipe going to the gray water tank
You need cleaner and glue. You clean the pipe with cleaner by going around the surface 8-10 times … then you clean the hub of your fitting the same way. Then apply a layer of pvc glue, a liberal amount which is a few rotations around the pipe and then the same in the hub of the fitting . Stick your fitting onto your pipe, give it a quarter turn to lock it in, and bam you good to go
