  • It's finally happened.
You guys have ask, and I deliver.
One of my most popular requests is for a full tutorial - since the others have just used Lightroom, so here we are. Start to finish, using Lightroom and Photoshop. You can even download the RAW file and follow along: drive.google.com/file/d/12WP_... - please make sure you tag me properly in the caption if you want to post this anywhere. I don't like giving out my RAW files except to the members of my Learning Journey so don't make me regret it 😅
I don't post many tutorials on RUclips, or other social media channels. Sometimes I wonder if that's the right decision. After all, everyone wants them. It's what everyone asks for in comments and I know they'd get a LOT of views...
But they're special to me. They're my process. My workflow. They're bits and pieces I've learnt and what I've added along the way, how I've refined my style, how I've used new tools and new ways of doing things that I hadn't seen before. How I shaped others things I learnt to work for me.
And I want to keep them special, for my students. The ones who say: "Yes, I want to learn," and then commit to it. They sign up for a lesson, or buy a tutorial on my site, or join the Learning Journey. They put the techniques into practise. Learn how to adapt those techniques to other photos. They learn not only the HOW, but the WHY. The rationale behind doing certain things. They learn what we want to achieve, not to just copy a technique and hope to be able to apply it to every other photo.
I'm not saying people on RUclips will do that. And I LIKE helping people learn.
It's like this huge game of tug of war for me, as a content creator and someone who earns their living off of their educational platform. How much to give away for free? How much to keep behind a pay wall. How to balance what's fair to my paying students, with becoming known and trusted on other channels.
I don't have an answer to these thoughts. Maybe you have some ideas and opinions. I'd love to hear them.
