Thanks for sharing! I remember first stumbling upon one of Master Hayes’s books in the late 1980s at a Walden’s Books in a local mall in the small town where I grew up. I would go back many times to their martial arts section to read books that would change my life. I appreciate how you remind us of these early days searching for any bit of information we could find before the internet. 🙏

Stephen Hayes grew up 45 miles from my home town. Used to have several of his books, the only one still in my martial arts library is Wisdom form the Ninja Village of the Cold Moon, which I purchased in 1984 and which he autographed for me in the early 2000's. I also still have Dr. Hatsumi's book Stick Fighting.

Of all the Stephen Hayes books, this is the only one I don't have. 😞

Mr. Norcross, did you ever come across a copy of Jack Hoban's Tantojutsu? His book gave me the clearest description of how to merge my taijutsu footwork/body movement skills with my emotional state. This was very helpful in a time before I ever set foot in a Bujinkan dojo.
