Ilayaraja being GKV's assistant, suggested that this composition required a voice with a good throw, which is when GKV recalled that Dr Raj himself was the best for this song. Dr Raj, did not want to disturb the PBS - Dr Raj combo and felt this would interfere in PBS's opportunity as well. But after them convincing him that this composing required a powerful voice of a veteran Nataka artiste like him , he agreed. So Ilayaraja certainly had a role in sowing a small seed that day as this led to Dr Raj regularly singing after this.
