Thank you so much ! Husband has classic cars, he pulled my 92 jeep wrangler out to get one of his cars out.. he told me, but I wasn't paying attention when I pulled my truck out of the other garage. Just backed into a tree stump last night in the exact same spot as your bumper😢. Great video. Quick and to the point. Thanks i wasn't sure if i needed to remove my bumper and take it to a shop. Now im gonna do it myself👍
I have a dent in almost the same spot on 2010 Tundra. Same cause almost too. You saved me with your use of a block of wood (duh) from attempting to pound it out with a sledgehammer alone. Thanks so much!
You're welcome, glad I could help you out 👍 And lol I've done plenty of things like that, only realizing later I could have done it easier and better hah 🤦♂️
Thanks for the vid. You only loosened your bumper because the dent was higher up and not reachable? Or is it a must ? I have a 2500hd chevy with a lower dent thati can reach easily but I don’t want to cause any other damage
Thanks for taking the time to make this video. Even though I have a back up camera, yep I backed into a tree. Reacted pretty fast so not too big of a dent. I have all of the tools but am a bit short on swinging power at 75. I can't wait to start banging on that bumper. I saw your tip on starting from the outer edge of the dent - will do that. Thanks again!!
Thanks for posting. I have a small dent in my tacoma bumper and I was wondering to use wood or steel with a hammer to beat the bumper out. Your video answered my question.
You're welcome, you should be able to get it out no problem. Take your time and when hitting the dent out it's best to move from outer area of dent towards center rather that starting right in middle 👍🏻
Just got a new truck about a week ago and someone ding it in and smeared red paint on the black metallic paint matched bumper. The paints a whole other issue but gettin the ding outside is a start lol. Gonna try this as soon as possible. Thanks
Searched "how to fix dented bumper" this is the first vid I clicked on, I have the same truck with the bumper dented in the same place lol, thanks man!.
First gen tundras will last you a very long time even with minimal maintenance. These trucks were built like tanks! Only issue is the frame recall for the cross member and the lower ball joints (always buy OEM LBJs!!!)
@@JonnyDIY nice! Mine has 141K, I’m about due for lbj replacements. Look up First Gen Tundras (13K members) on FB it’s legit the best page for anything and everything regarding these trucks.
how do you do the same with small areas like a bent area on window frame. someone used a screwdriver to try to get into truck through rear passenger door. thank you and God bless you
Thats a little trickier because the metal is usually stronger there and no as access to backside. I would try getting a couple estimates from local Paintless Dent Repair guys. Either that or would have to have damage fixed by body shop and repaint that little area
Something smooth on end like a piece of wood I used but round the end or maybe use a thick rag around end so it doesn't dent with the sharp corners of wood
My wife backed her truck into a tree so I'm hoping this will work for hers haha. It's way more pushed in but from but from the looks of it your idea might work. Thanks for the tips
Haha it happens! It should work, if really pushed in use a come a long to pull out or just a rope/strap around it and other end on a tree. Have pulled a few bumpers/front ends that way with surprisingly good results 👍🏻
Hey man, great video! I have a slight bend in a 1.25 inch C-channel rail on my front bumper. Do you think that could be pulled out by placing a flat bar in the C-channel, and pulling it with a come-a-long?
Yea I wore a Casio for years doing construction work. It has been sitting in my drawer for years waiting for battery. Batteries last forever in those watches!
Should work on those bumpers too just fine. Theyre not too thick of metal. Work from the outer diameter of dent inwards towards the middle for best results 👍
Hey I've done a few repairs in my lifetime believe it or not and you can actually use a stone and you want it when you're on a dent like that that you were fixing you tap from the outside to the inside because get it in the center and that's how you got that crease and if you put a stone and hit the stone cap lightly from the outside to the inside the crease will not be there you can go to harbor freights for $9 you can get a whole body fender repair kit I'm fixing the GMC pickup truck bumper right now maybe I'll videotape some clown started to do some body and paperwork on my friend's truck and messed it up so now I'm repairing it
@@sharonfoster9490 awesome, thanks for sharing. Yes I really need to invest in one of those body working kits with all the nice hammers and slid hammer too
Can still make it look way better. Try working from the outside of the dents inward. Could also heat it up from the backside of the chrome to aid in bending 👍🏻
For scrapes, scuffs or paint transfers I would buff with Meguiars Ultimate Compound like I did in this video 👍🏻 ruclips.net/video/3lVnpJQvRs0/видео.html
