Majority of people subbed to Dave want simulation with proper FFB, with rule sets as close to realistic as possible. I'll also mention that most studios that develop sim racing titles are small studios with little funding and you're comparing them to Polyphony Digital who is backed by Sony.

I am pretty sure it won't with the dlc for an unfinished game with mixed reviews on Steam. Maybe later on with a deep deep sale and great updates but I think it will only have a core fanbase that swallows everything they bring.

I don't want to get this until it's out of early access. I don't like playing games that aren't yet complete because I'll get bored with half a product and miss out when it's done. But I'm confused now whether when I buy the complete game am I going to be missing content or will they bundle it? If they don't bundle it, the game, a sporting title, will be out of date. So no, finish doing what they need to do to complete the game, then work on dlc. If they want to update cars and tracks during early access it should be early access content updates, which are free.
They will bundle it when the game releases, but it'll be propably more expensive than now. Atleast that's been said for the basegame. Not sure if we are in a place to judge what they should be doing or not. There are 5 new hypercars, four new tracks and 9 GT3 cars. That's alot of content that you are asking to be for free. So how are you going to pay the artists creating them if the basegame justs costs you 30 bucks? Quality has it's price.

And I totally agree that artists should get paid for their work. Really I'm just trying to say that they should finish the game before working on chargeable content packs. If they do bundle it, how many DLCs will it be before those who supported early access have paid more, or if they don't it is no different than a studio releasing a game (full release) with important content locked behind paywalls on day 1. They've given themselves a very difficult issue and only consumers can be the judges because we vote with our wallets
LMU is amazing, guys there are doing a great job. Incredible FFB, sounds are awesome, as well as the tracks. Sure it has its flaws, but the game is improving constantly, and the devs are very active with the community, on Discord. Once all the other DLCs incl. all the GT3s are released, it will be fantastic.
Does WMD or Reiza backing program ring a bell where season pass was a thing before the game even released? Everyone nowadays knows that DLCs are coming for the different platforms so I don't understand the sh*tstorm. It just adds more options and choices. If you don't like it, don't buy it. Very simple ;)
I think the 7 GT3 cars are being released in September. If they drive similar to the GTE cars I probably won't run ACC ever again. I very much prefer how LMU drives over ACC now.
The 2024 DLC costs more than the whole game, incl 2023 content. The 2023 content is more than the 2024 content - more tracks and more cars. So how does that make sense?
It doesn't. Even worse, it's a early access title selling DLC without the basic features implemented yet. And the DLC is also incomplete regarding cars and tracks so there'll be a bunch of them if you want the real grid.
You guys are so entitled. You are getting the best deal on the market. 30$/€ for 7 tracks, multiplayer servers and sporting code enforcement, 20 cars. Still not enough. Are they supposed to work for free?

I agree on trackside detail except 6:54 above the DHL sign. I still haven’t bought this game yet as it doesn’t seem particularly popular. How is the multiplayer at the moment in terms of user count and lobbies?
LMU is better than ACC, but yes its not that popular. You wont find good settings or setups for it, its too soon. Now avarage per day is like 300-400 players
Comming from iRacing, i find these prototypes far more difficult. Cant quite put my finger on what aspec thats putting me off, typer physicals? Overall handling? Braking performance? Feels strange to me, ive yet to get used to it
Yup thats true. Prototypes in LMU are very difficult, its so easy to spin or flat spot. I guess its because of the tire model which they changed recently.
One data point is that Romain Grosjean drove the Lambo in LMU a couple of days ago and made it sound like it was pretty spot on which means something since he actually drives it :).
This is a genuine question as i'm curious to understand the point of view of someone whos negative about dlc in an early access game. What's wrong with it and what would you like to see be done differently? Would you prefer all of the content to be released for free? Would you prefer the cost of the base game to be increased to include the costs for all of this content? (which in my opinion would hamper player numbers) Curious to hear your thoughts!

All to often titles release to early access (to be clear I am all for early access) and development never ends or the product dies. Personally, if this is the case and there is planned additional content released at a cost I would like to see an open and updated roadmap to clarify for those interested in taking part in the development that there will be ongoing additional costs for future released items. Rather than releasing a bare bones product and tacking on DLC as it's available. Cheers,

And by the way: I'm much worse than you when it comes to downforce monsters. :D But in rF2 you don't have to own every single piece of content anymore. That hasn't been necessary for a year or so. You can install the cars manually in the menu. Or maybe i simply misunderstood your last words of the video. :)
Good video Dave! Like you, my main racer is iRacing - but 100% that's due to the online experience. I know you mention you don't drive GTPs, but how do you feel the other cars in LMU match up to iRacing, specifically the GT3s?
Oh sure, 29 bucks for the base game. 47 for the season pass and were at the 79-price point of a brand-new triple A game for what's an alpha state game.

Completey realistic. On cold tyres the GT3 can and do overtake the Hypercars around corners, they are legitimately tricky on cold tyres. Just watch any replays of recent WEC races.
All the cheapos in the comments crying about $12 .. shut up ! They do need some funds to keep developing the game .. if they keep updating it , and improving a already excellent sim. I have no issues with them charging $12 for a DLC . They’ve been pretty transparent on everything so far.
How about you do a week on a starter wheel set as a little experiment. See how much your enjoyment and speed is diminished or not. Be interesting content.
I purchased the DLC when I woke up. In Canada after conversion rate and tax it comes to 19.20. I do with for those of us who bought early access it should have been free.
Sadly till VR is fully supported I cant spend more money, whilst we get a flavour of VR the lack of anti aliasing in VR makes it only drivable for a few laps. Imola looks good, very dark at night, imagine paying for a seat in the stands needing a torch to eat your packed super!!
Get the game finished first then get the DLC done! This is a blatant cash grab and I don't agree with doing this!! I don't like seeing RUclipsr's pushing this method because when will they get the main game finished as no incentive to do this! I bet this won't be the last DLC either even before the game is finished!!
I've no doubt at all that there will be more before it's officially released and I'm JUST on the right side of being ok with it. Yes I've got a RUclips channel, but first and foremost I'm a sim racer. And I think LMU is great. Nope, it doesn't have vr, and there may be a bug or two but that hasn't affected me and I don't race in vr so its not an issue.

So far this business model seems to be the trend in the 2 newest sim racing games. The LMU price point for the DLC Isn’t as bad as Rennsport, but it’s crazy paying for content for unfinished software, to then turn around and maybe have to pay full price for the finished software and possibly all the DLC all over again. Those that play iracing pay for that software all year long and it Never stops unless you don’t want it anymore,and one can say that game is never finished, content is always being added.
I dont care about LMU anymore. Game is still broken and in early access state, instead of fixing the core they're adding new DLC and subscription... If I have to pay per season then I prefer to do it in iRacing.
@@nuztuz903 They announced subscription which will have all of the season DLCs. Yes iRacing costs more but its so much batter in terms of FFB and multiplayer, splits. ratings. You pay mostly for that, not only cars and tracks. And LMU has 6 tracks now? :)

@@davecamyt I mean it can't be argued. No racing title drops as much content as GT7 and they do it for free. No matter if you like the game or not that should be acknowledged. There is software that provides lifetime free updates and others that charge hefty for every little bit of content and from what I'm seeing people are rewarding the companies that put the customer experience at #1 rather than trying to rip them off at every corner. You see it now with Adobe as well.
@@ldplays9431 GT7 had his own flaws with getting people to buy microtransactions just becasuse of the amount of money you could earn every race. All my friends playing the game had to do AFK races to earn most of the cars. I would always prefer dlc over the GT7 system but because this is an early acces title makes it shady.
Agree they've done an amazing job with Imola and coming from iRacing 2 cars and a track for that much is more than reasonable.

It’s not competitive in WEC yet, but the SC63 looks and sounds amazing. Looking forward to when it is competitive against Ferrari and Porsche.

I thing I learned in LMU is you never want the battery/SOC to be at 100%, otherwise the car decides to be very spinny! Great content!
No, if You have 100% battery then the braking action is much worse. It has nothing to do with spinning...

It seems the tyres are not only out of the blankets due the WEC rules but they're also stored in a ice-box before go to the car.

This game still crashea out on me on multiplayer despite all the damn hotfix updates , unplayable

Yep, gone are the days on just buying something. It's the same with absolutely everything. All the good stuff are add ons 🫤

@@davecamyt I mean it can't be argued. No racing title drops as much content as GT7 and they do it for free. No matter if you like the game or not that should be acknowledged. There is software that provides lifetime free updates and others that charge hefty for every little bit of content and from what I'm seeing people are rewarding the companies that put the customer experience at #1 rather than trying to rip them off at every corner. You see it now with Adobe as well.
@@ldplays9431 GT7 had his own flaws with getting people to buy microtransactions just becasuse of the amount of money you could earn every race.
All my friends playing the game had to do AFK races to earn most of the cars. I would always prefer dlc over the GT7 system but because this is an early acces title makes it shady.
