I want to love you game I really do, I love everything about it except the fact I can’t seem to get any sort of feel on my wheel 😂 if you could send me some decent ffb settings for a thrustmaster TSXW I’d be forever greatfull 🫣😂

After 5 years of racing WEC-tracks offline in AC, one weekend ago I started doing online beginnerraces in LMU. Yesterday I got my silver SR. I'm definitely staying in LMU.
I'm a platinum safety rating from rFactor 2. Haven't been able to do much LMU because I've been injured
I'm also platinum safety rating in RF2. I also got a silver driver rating in RF2 but lost it all in LMU 🙂
I'm new to LMU and I must say, I am LOVING it. The feel of the cars is by far the best, the sound of the cars is the best. Im shit, but I love it. You just have to get through the initial wreckfest that comes with every race.
I took a chance on the base game and 2 hours later bought the Pro + subscription. Absolutely fantastic physics and visuals. Much higher fps than iRacing and the side by side difference is shocking.
I'm impressed about your driving skills: smooth, calm, precise and fast! Great and very fascinating to watch!
Yesterday I had 0 good races in the rookie dailies... Lots of unnecessary carnage. This morning there were enough people for the advanced race at Spa - pure joy.
As people build their SR over time I think it will get better.
Same experience from me aswell but this is normal and to be expected for rookies.
Amazing how toxic people can be, why not enjoy the fact that we are blessed with another great sim like LMU. Thank you for sharing, well driven! 😊

I bought LMU when it came out and I liked it, but no VR so hardly drove it. I finally loaded it up today in VR and did a race at Sebring and it was great! I'm really stoked about the sim now, bought DLCs right after
Great stuff as always Dave. I was an LMU skeptic but picked it up on the Winter sale, fully ready to refund it. I ended up buying the season pass and may grab one of the Pro/Pro+ subs.
I encourage everyone to check it out. I've been an iRacing member since the beginning and love it, but I'm actually enjoying LMU more than iRacing now.

We're midway through the championship season but give it a couple weeks and I definitely recommend it. Though there's nothing stopping you joining mid season I guess. Also you don't need pro plus unless you want rF2 DLC as you already have the season pass. Just get the $48 one. Also also I'm a 12 year iRacing member but I'm taking a little break to give it chance to catch up a little too lmu on the simulation side.
Dave- I really enjoy your videos! And I love LMU- Favorite sim. Always great racing on your videos, always respectful (I’m trying to emulate that about your races!), and the commentary is entertaining and often funny. I can relate when you get clobbered by someone behind missing their braking point… But you have encouraged me to finish more races and not give up when it happens! Thanks for your videos I learn from them and also enjoy watching them when I am on the treadmill! Helps me forget I’m exercising and look forward to a sim racing break when I’m finally home. 🤣 Cheers & all best for you in the new year.

I like the physics of this sim, hope he get bigger and bigger.
I tried it the other day. I really enjoyed the GT3s. They felt much more lively and fun to drive than iRacing’s GT3s. I’ll keep coming back to it for a change of pace.
LMU is a fantastic sim. I have yet to hop in an online race. Just learning the game so far. I hate to say though, coming from purely iracing, it’s taking a while to learn the physics. Everything just feels so different. Not bad, just different. Guess I need to branch out more.

Had my first Daily race at Le Mans last week and thoroughly enjoyed it. Hopefully get some more races under my belt and catch you on track 💪🏼
Great drive Dave - 100% agree with you the racing can go 2 ways but when its good it is very good, combined with the graphics, sound & physics the GT3's are the best of all the sims.
I am an iR fanboy but this Sim gota say has huge potential .... Really enjoying it & finding my self with more seat time in LMU then iR, at the moment the only reason I jump in iR is either for practice sessions for League races & the D24 team race practice sessions...

I see you're binging the new GT3 Dave. Honestly I'm the same. Never been my favourite class, despite it being a staple in modern sim racing. But the driving model just feels so complex and convincing I am addicted. I love the P2, but feel like actually mastering the gt3s is something I can aspire to. And they don't feel slow when you're behind the wheel hustling the car.

The first lap, in my experience, is always a cluster F@#% in the beginner races. Started my last 5 taves from the pit to get my Silver. Started LMU about a week ago. Really enjoying it 👍

LMU is easily the best sim on the market right now. Just wish I could figure out the secret to driving fast and how to fix the dead FFB feel at low speeds.

People just want to judge without trying.
I've spent over 800€ in iRacing on the 1st year alone. That doesn't mean we can also drive something else.
iRacing is a giant service, not just a sim. But it doesn't mean we can also have fun on other sims.
Trust me you will go back to iR quickly ;) i had also big espectations, it is good sim, lmp2 on sebring felt even better than iR but thats all... it is still need to be polishes a lot, graphically, races variaty etc. and ffb is very strange. Rf2 ffb i liked most! But iR drb is so smooth i can not drive anymore LMU maybe thats the reason, i'm with SC2pro
great vid as always Dave, im struggling with the ffb using sc2 car just seems floaty/ or on ice.
as an avg. simrace i prefer the BMW M4 over the the F296 in RaceRoom, ACC, LMU and iRacing. But the F296 is a close second.
The Ferrari isn't the quickest in a straight line due to the fixed setup. Other fixed setups are lower wing and thus quicker.
When they add the GT3 R 992 is when I’ll buy this game 😅
LMU is decent, but there’s still a lot of bugs they need to figure out before I’d consider it good. Also, this might be something I can adjust, but the FFB is not great feeling to me. There’s a lot of initial resistance on turn in, but all the way through most of the corner, the steering feels numb. It’s hard to describe, and it is better than ACC in my opinion, but it needs work.

I bought LMU on your recommendation and I was very impressed with the game so far. The physics and FFB are extremely good, I didn't encounter any significant bugs, and it runs nice and smoothly on my PC on high settings while looking good. My main complaint is that the start procedures need a complete rework as it babies you far too much and other peoples actions can unfairly hand you a penalty and ruin your race before it begins, and the daily races is like being back in rookie Mazda's on iRacing or your average Forza/GT lobby all over again. I've done about 15 races so far and got my driver rank up to silver 1 which is good enough for the top couple of splits in these daily races but my safety rating is lagging behind because nobody understands give and take in racing apparently. For reference on iRacing I'm at 5k road iRating and have held an A 4.0+ license for many years and I feel LMU is significantly harder to grind safety rating because of other peoples actions so far in LMU. Also hardly anybody in lower splits realizes that you can just hold the pit speed limiter at full throttle on the pace laps and release it on green so I was getting monster starts in every race up to top split basically.

LMU is an excellent game. Just need to iron out the bugs and it will be an amazing sim. Experiencing crashes and freezes every now and then when trying to go back a menu.
I thought if you lift in LMU sufficiently especially if the yellow flag shows up you don’t get the penalty points to your safety rating? Great racing as always Dave.

Glad your liking it dave. I want to love it but not gett8ng any feedback at low speed and not being able to tell what the tires are doing really keeps me away. Hope they fix it one day
Assuming your tyres are good, to help boost the low speed signal you can try increasing Steering Torque Sensitivity above 100% - I run 125% as a good compromise and brings some weight into low speed corners.

Hi Dave. Whats your opinion on LMU vs iRacing? Im hearing good things about the ffb on LMU but would like to hear your thoughts. Which sim do you feel drives and feels better? Cheers.
The ONLY thing iRacing does better is "simulate" matchmaking because of the player base + 100 cars to choose from. Ok and rain, the feeling of driving in the rain on iRacing is amazing. For me, it stops there. There are so, so many problems with iracing. Iracing is like Mario on NES/SNES. LMU is like Mario on N64 with 7.1 Atmos
You're absolutely right about the racing - when it's bad it's f*ing terrible, when it's good it's sublime. And this game in VR is totally superb, No game is as visceral as LMU in VR. I REALLY wish the devs would look at developing an AT-FAULT penalty system - I'm in the middle of developing one for IRacing just to prove it can be done, but LMU is CRYING out for something more robust. It CAN be done.
AMS 2 looks much better to me in VR and the performance is also much better? Do we live in different worlds?
iRacing is still best for me in VR. AMS2 does not run smoothly at all.

I tried to setup triples on LMU based off Dan S. video, some reason the walls are angled severely on side monitors. I tried to use the adjustment tool in game but it does not allow me to adjust the horizontal alignment like I can in IRacing, any suggestions?
DAVE. Do you have a video on the setting you use for LMU? It just doesn't feel right to me. Coming from Iracing mainly racing GT3.

Dudes are butthurt because they can’t let go of iRacing due to sunken cost fallacy. Sure, if you’re an esports person, iRacing is the place to be right now, but if you’re a GT3, LMP or hypercar fan, it’s hard to beat LMU. Solid races, occasional idiot, but I can tell you I’m basically done with everything else at this point. There are some things I’d like to see fixed though and I’d love to see them model in the wet line versus just making it slicker as well as adding better debris and marbles.
Dave, do you let LMU use the wheel rotation for each car, or do you use your own preferred wheel rotation (ie: 720, 540, etc.) in all cars in LMU?
Yes I have it set to 900 in my wheel software and let LMU pick it for me in the Sim 👍

I did 3 Endurance Races at Watins Glen this weekend, 2h races.
GT4/LMP3s, I drove McLaren GT4.
First race went excellent, started from the PITs as I am still new to it all so to play it safe I start from PIT. There were well over 30 cars, I finished 14th .
But second and third race were frustrating, guys that drive LMP3 cars (not all of them) are impatient, sometimes you're in a situation where you get caught up to and you can't move over right away. I got hit from behind in both 2nd and 3rd race. Eventually the guy that hit me also hit soneone else and wrecked. I just don't get it.
I think their counter stops at 500, as that is highest I've seen so far :D
the amount of people coming to my stream asking me why im playing this game and not iracing is hilarious. Its gotten better now that people are realizing that LMU is actually a very great alternative but fanboys wont stop hating, sadly. Happens with all other games.
I'm the biggest iRacing fanboy out there, but it's so good to have alternatives.

I really want to try this game but the money I'm not sure which DLC I need to get and then this whole iRacing type subscription plan thing really kind of makes me not want to do it especially from the company that is bleeding money so bad
Buy the base game then download the McLaren GT3 for free. That’s enough and you get really good value for the money. You don’t need to pay subscription for online.
You don't need the sub to race in these races, only for their championship.
For the DLCs it depends on what cars/tracks you want to drive as they each contain a track and cars. There is at least 1 free car for each class so you can get the base game and not need the dlcs to run the dailies provided the tracks aren't dlc tracks.
At least it’s cheaper than IR which u can’t play during weekends….crashfest weekends
