      Funny , yes my 2017 papa pig is still giving relaxing pleasure even in horrid traffic . It’s old school driving , parking is unbelievable manoeuvrable , highway too easy to be speeding without any idea of your speed , on a cloud . Use the manual 6 speed occasionally for acceleration, and I pull a small RV on occasion very stable . Best wife simply loves it .

Compared to other makes of same year and mileage that come through our shop, not bad at all and I am very happy with this thing. I do notice the lean that feels almost like rear steer or bad camber on non level roads but drives straight as an arrow on level roads. 100% Would buy again. Very smooth ride. GX handles a lot better than the LX and has far less body roll (KDSS)

    • @Jay-me7gw
      @Jay-me7gw 5 месяцев назад +2

      This is wildly incorrect. The LX's AHC compensates for softer sway bars and actively counters body roll. I owned a GX460 for 4 years and now an LX570. Virtually everything about the LX is superior, including the body roll. You put the LX in Sport+ mode and it stays almost totally flat.
      And, also, KDSS sucks offroad if you are in 4hi and moving quickly because it doesn't unlock. If you are traveling on a faster forest service road or dirt road, the KDSS causes the GX to ride very stiff. This is not true of the LX with AHC. Hell, even my F150 rode better on fast dirt roads.
      Ill take AHC all day long over KDSS.

    • @sly9263
      @sly9263 5 месяцев назад

      @@Jay-me7gw the only thing that's wild around here is your misinformation and emotional bias. The LX570 handles like shit compared to the GX- it has far more body roll and doesn't stay flat on curves. Now you're talking about an F150 on leaf springs riding better than a GX- you've established you have no idea what you're talking about. You bought a new vehicle and you've come here to spout off absolutely nonsense bias- you need a hobby, because this is just pathetic.

I currently have 132k miles on her, been from California to Texas 3 times and the issues I've had have been a reoccurring alignment correction, touchscreen went out. Radiator cracked in 2023, 2024 passenger door lock actuator went out and rack & pinion replaced. My blower motor just started going out as well. In my opinion, this has been a very solid truck given its age, mileage, usage as a fleet vehicle.

      I think it's important for everyone to understand (although I mentioned this throughout the video) that these issues don't have to happen to everyone but they CAN happen. There's plenty of people who had no issues and this goes for any car make. My master tech has two benzes with 300k miles with no issues with either one. But it's important to note that used cars really are just rolling the dice and I want to protect consumers that don't have a lot of money.

    • @Gmonayy189
      @Gmonayy189 9 месяцев назад

      That’s true, it is good to note this and highlight issues on any used car. It’s true Scotty and others make blanket statements but i do find it funny that all of the comments on your video are people with no issues. There always are issues on every vehicle. I like that you at least provide the perspective of leasing as most financial advisors or anyone like Scotty or older people would never. Even if it is leasing through your friend, but still. Are the Timing chain cover leaks, valley coolant plate leaks, and transmission issues more for earlier years and did Lexus resolve them for later years? I asked my Lexus dealer during my service what it cost for these items, and he said $3-4K. Can anyone share what they paid for the timing chain leak and valley coolant plate leaks? Also, I read the transmission solenoid codes basically means you need to replace the whole transmission, costing around 7-8K. Please let me know your opinion. I bought a used silver 2017 Lexus GX (Luxury trim) with 36K miles. Car came with Front Runner roof rack and brand new BFG ko2 tires and sports bra on the front end. No rust, no dings or scratches. I have had it since June '23. How much should I have paid?

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  Год назад +2

      😅 Well my friend I understand you want to confirm you did not over pay and I understand but it's rather easy to see what the market value is by going to cargurus and searching for yourself.
      I just did a nationwide search for a 2016-2018 GX with under 40k miles and omitted the accident vehicles, only 15 vehicles fit that parameter.
      Price ranges between $36k to $40k as long as you didn't pay more than that you're fine and perhaps + $2k for accessories
      Even if you overpaid it doesn't matter because they're getting rid of the dollar soon so if you like what you bought, just enjoy and relax.

    We have a 2023 460 and it was leaning and pulling to the right, it's the crown of the road. We went to a shop familiar with this and did an alignment and reprogram for $80. No issues going straight down the road now. The alignment comes "perfect" from the manufacturer and a lot of shops will go with that spec and not account for the road crown. It's not a big deal at all but if you're taking your rig to a shop that isn't up to speed, you'll chase your tail for sure.

    Doing a good inspection by a pro is required to purchase gx460, but I want to put a small comparison of complaints between 2011 gx and 4runner the complaint ratio is 35 for gx and 159 for 4runner, may be because more 4 runners are sold, but gx is also as good as 4runner if not better. Water intrusion, especially into the passenger side where the ECU is mounted. Toyotas are prone to leak the AC drain and the sunroof drain into the passenger foot well, to be sure, but those are easy to detect and fix. But there's more going on than these little problems. My son's GX460 has had the corroded ECU and associated wiring replaced and the car still needs to be towed after visiting a car wash. I have a 4Runner and I'm off to Home Depot today to buy some Damp Rid to help with the musty situation.

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  Год назад +3

      Paying cash would be the worst move on this as you would miss out on $3,500 in incentives.
      Best deal to negotiate is what AC is advertising. 12% off MSRP + $3500 lease incentive.
      Do a one pay lease for 27 months and buy the car after 27 months in cash this way you’ve taken advantage of all the credits and one pay lease means you’ve paid practically no interest.
      Use the free leasing calculator that I have in the description box

      @johnandstephanie377 11 месяцев назад

      What is the one pay lease? Thanks

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  11 месяцев назад +2

      @@johnandstephanie377 one pay lease is when you make all of your lease payments up front. The only reason you would want to do this is to reduce the interest rate on the lease so you’re wasting less money and building more equity.
      With some manufacturers or cars, even if you do a one pay lease it might not reduce the interest rate that much so it def doesn’t make sense in every situation. I wish ACs calculator would show updated interest rate for one pays.
      You can find out more on the leasehackr forum

    • @Gmonayy189
      @Gmonayy189 9 месяцев назад

      @@johnandstephanie377definitely look into the full calculations as while you might have discounts by leasing, they might be offset by any interest, which would defeat any purpose. Also cars have the least problems when brand new (when leased). Lot’s of dealerships/banks in Texas have great financing options to offset the lower demand for cars in the past several months, sometimes very low interest rates. But honestly if you could just pay cash today I’ve noticed you can offer what you think it’s worth and walk away confidently knowing you’re only paying one party at one time. No complex math, just understand how much you can afford and you can get more than $3K off if you just pay what you want and get someone who’s willing.

    Yeah, the one thing to note is toyota v8 are cheaper than European cars or even some american v8 trucks. But they are not cheap. This is a special warning to those who have only owned corolla or camry, that the v8 toyota cost more for everything like premium gas, parts, etc. If you cant keep up with regular maintenance, your gx/lx/land cruiser will suffer. This means doing the plugs, belts, seals, gaskets, etc.

    I’ve had minimal problems with my GX’s.
    I’m on my newer GX460 (2022)
    I had a CPO 2013 for nearly 200k miles.
    I had the driveline fluids minus the transmission replaced per schedule (keep this in mind as I’ll bring up more later.
    100k plugs
    100k transmission service
    150k water pump, hoses, radiator, idler pulley, drive belt.
    Never had the valley plate leak nor the timing cover leak.
    My transmission was never serviced prior to 100k. The fluid is the Toyota WS fluid and as per lexus it’s a “lifetime” fluid.
    Performed a trans drain and refill @ 150k
    @ 195k I started getting trans solenoid codes.
    Dropped pan, replaced the coded solenoids, and drove to 200k. Same exact codes.
    Took to Lexus and recommended transmission replacement.
    Did it myself and a coworker bought the vehicle from me.
    Find a reputable Toyota/Lexus technician to regularly service your transmission in these vehicles. I’ve got nearly 200k out of mine before it showed it’s head but others have had it @ 100k.
    Never had the kdss lean on either of my 460s.
    They’ve been amazing.
