Terrif!!!! Been making a mess with transfers. Excited! Thanks!
It's easy to make a mess...it took me SEVERAL tries to get it right!
I am loving all this texture, Vikki. Just gorgeous!
Thanks very much!
Thank you for the inspiration!
My pleasure, Laura, thank you for watching and commenting!
Thank you for your inspiration and for sharing your skills 😁❤️❤️❤️
My pleasure, thanks so much for watching and commenting!
Love your gelli plate techniques. Just recently subscribed. The 2nd pull tonite is so cool! Looking forward to your next video.🦋🦋🦋
Thank you so much for subscribing and commenting, I’m glad you enjoyed it!
So cool ❤ the royal Talens paint , that I use here in the Netherlands (royal Talens is Dutch) is very good 👌✨ I use or the Amsterdam expert serie or Rembrandt acrylics from Talens ✨ love the video ❤️👌
Thank you for your comment, I love learning that, yes, it is very good!
Ah-mazing! 😊🤗❤. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, expertise and creativity. I love your videos. I do want to give this (transfer process) a try.
Thank you! As stated, this technique took me awhile to get and it is not successful every time, but it is SUPER satisfying when it works!
This lovely video came right on time as I am sitting down tearing pages out of a magazine for some Gelli play. Thanks for the tips.
what is that square red plastic thing with the circles?
Hi, thanks for your question, it's a duplo piece which is a slightly larger lego for smaller hands, I commandeered it from my granddaughter's toy box!
Well, that is perfect timing! I wish you much success, I hope what I shared will be helpful, thanks for watching and commenting!
WoW Super Cool!! Headed to the studio to give this a try… image transfers are intimidating, you make it seem doable with some practice…
Thank you Lorie! Very thin and even coat of Amsterdam Lamp Black; light pressure on the image (black and white, high contrast work best); very light brayering of pigment over...and let it dry before you pull!
What was that paint tool you used at the end to add the blue? I didn’t catch it. Great prints. I just bought all the supplies today to give this a try!!! I didn’t look yet but have you printed on tshirts or canvas bags and the like?
Thank you! The tool is a Catalyst Wedge, wonderful tool! I have not had success Gelli Printing on t-shirts or canvas bags, the Gelli Plate works best for very smooth surfaces, untextured papers and such. I have seen other artists printing on canvas with different techniques so definitely watch for those, thanks for your questions!
Hello, I love this! I've never seen this type of art before and it looks like so much fun! Can you transfer images from a photograph or only magazine clippings? Thank you. ☺️💕
Patty, thank you for your question! You can use magazine images or images from a laser printer (not an inkjet) for this method with the gelli plate. There IS a method for transferring photos but it is quite different, I would do a search for photo transfer and I'm sure you will find it!
@@VikkiReed Got ya, thank you!☺️
Thanks for showing image transfer. I really like it. Now... what to do with it? 🤗
You're welcome, Deborah, I'm glad you enjoyed it! You can use as journal pages or collage for a mixed media painting, anything as long as it is for personal use...image transfers are a little trickier due to the fact that the original image is copyrighted, so using them in art and and selling it is problematic!
@@VikkiReed that's good to know. Did not consider that. I have a new question, is there anything you have to do to a new gelli plate (?) to get started?
@@deborahtrout8821 Hi Deborah, nothing to do before you start! Here is my basics video which may answer some other questions...ruclips.net/video/TarWhnNE3fw/видео.htmlsi=G7GnTJn-aubuYTzF
whats a duplo? the red object with circles you stamped in.. ? thank you ! nice work!
Hi Brenda, thank you for your question! The duplo is a slightly larger "Lego" for younger children, I had them on hand because of my granddaughters, I gave it a try and fell in love with the impressions it makes on the gelli plate!
What kinds of magazines work the best?…
That is a great question! I find black and white images are more successful, high contrast, I like Vogue…you’re going to need to experiment, the image transfer process is one of the trickier Gelli printing techniques
Which magazines are good for image transfer????
Hi Sandi! I was using Vogue, and I believe black and white is better...image transfer can be tricky, definitely follow the instructions, Amsterdam black acrylic, applied in a very thin even layer, light touch pressing the image on the plate, let it dry before applying your "lifting colors"...good luck!

Hi Ruth, thanks for your question! It was most likely Vogue Magazine!
