I just cannot believe the bottom of cut glasses were used so effectively...love love love!
Thank you, still one of my favorite tools to print with, I lucked out the day I found those!
That was fun to watch!! Can't wait to try it using some crystal!
Glorious!
Esther, thank you!
Wow!👏👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥
veronkasago, thank you!
Wow, magnificent!
Thank you, Melissa!
Gorgeous prints! Always so satisfying and fun to see “your” results as they evolve!
Thank you Gail!
@ Gail B-F Feel like I’m missing something: why did you put the word your in quotes, as in “your” results?
Wow! Beautiful! I love this technique ☮️💟
Thank you, Sue!
You have great original ideas and love your use of colors. You are very talented. More, more please!
Elizabeth, your comment brought me a smile, thank you! Yes, I have been so, so busy painting, but more videos will be on the way!
Love them
Thanks Diane!
Gorgegous Vikki, I did enjoy thay very much and gave me ideas. I haven't colleged in 15 yrs.
Laurie, thank you, I'm so glad you enjoyed it, time to get back to your collaging!
Omg, now I have a reason to buy the other interference colors!! I also carefully trim my stencils! Great results!
Donna, thank you and YES, the interference colors are so much fun!
Really enjoyed the experiments with interference paints. Thanks
Nancy, thank you, interference pigments are SO fun, especially over dark or black...
Thanks for following through our requests for this video!😁 Fabulous effects.
My pleasure, Della, thank you!
The ones with the glass bottoms remind me of diatoms. Wonderful ideas some of which I might apply to making holiday cards. Thank you again for sharing the fun of your personal explorations in this medium.
Ah, thank you, yes! I've found some beautiful glass, but I'm trying to "not" add to my collection.
Great video!
Thank you, Sandi!
Thank you for another great video. Never tried the interference paints, but I sure will now. Also, the idea of using the glass objects is getting me all excited. 😀😀
Yay, Cathy! Thank you...yes, the glass has wonderful potential, just make sure it is FLAT on the bottom...ridges around the design make it hard to print, I hope that makes sense, and the interference is stunning over dark or black...have fun!
I love these! I just got a bundle of the interference paints and was looking for ideas, so thanks so much for that - I don’t think I would have thought of mixing them. Also, I’m now going to cut off some of those annoying thick borders around some of my stencils - I feel you have given me permission! ☺️
Venta, I love it! Yes, make the stencils your own and have fun playing with the paint, thank you for watching and commenting!
Bellísimo que es pintura de interferencia
Adriana, thank you! The Interference pigments are so wonderful, especially over black or dark surfaces!
You are very talented lady, I really enjoyed that video.
Laurie, thank you for watching and commenting!
Thank you so much Vikki ! Your vidéo is so inspiring !🌞🌝
Corine, I'm so glad, thank you! The more of us that are creating, the better the world will be!
great video.. thanks Vikki
Thank you, J Marie!
I have just discovered your channel 🥳 today I did my first ever prints😃 I find that often the ghost prints are more exciting than the original. Thank you for your videos, they are excellent and inspiring 🙋🏻
Tanja, yes, I agree! Sometimes the ghost prints offer more, it's such a fascinating process...congratulations on making your first prints, thank you for watching and commenting!
love your videos they really inspire me to have ago thankyou x your very talented x
Thank you, Sharon, I'm so glad you are feeling inspired, the gelli plate can be so much fun!
Just gorgeous, Vikki!! I just made some papers yesterday and love the effect of bright images against ‘black’. Keep sending us your inspirations :-))
Thank you, I will!
FABULOUS!!! Loved this!!! I am new to this form of art and I am so impressed! I am a new subscriber! TYSMFS!
Rondi, thank you for watching and subscribing, I hope you LOVE gelli plate printing, it is so much fun!
Never used interference paints but definitely on my list! That first print is absolutely gorgeous! 😍
Thank you, crunchypickles99, yes! I'm using them right now to create a video on Christmas Cards, coming soon!
@@VikkiReed Awesome!
I love what you do. I liked the green and white butterfly before you added more colors. I love to see how you do some cards.
Thanks Ida Mae, I do have videos on making cards, here's one...ruclips.net/video/7EM7FtuDGzo/видео.html
Thank you Vikki! I’m fairly new to the Gelli plate, and its tutorials on RUclips. I worked for NASA ages ago, I’m old now, and just wondered what you made with your space prints and if you have shared that on social media? I made a book about the James Webb spacecraft discoveries for my son for Christmas which is great but I wasn’t in to the gel printing then. Thank you! I appreciate your tutorials!
Donna, thank you, I was making these gelli prints specifically for a series I was working on called the Quantum Keys, here is a brief video of the show which was held last February and March! ruclips.net/video/lm7zO_DFBN4/видео.html
Love the cool effects you have from the patterned glassware. I have some heavily patterned vintage glass that I wanted to use to make molds for polymer clay but this is a different use I hadn't thought of. Thanks. I always enjoy videos that bring something new to the table. Were those stencils you cut down originally square or rectangular? I have lots of rectangular stencils which I find quite boring. Cutting them could make them quite interesting.
Hi, yes, one stencil was a small square, one bit I cut out of an 8" X 10" stencil...I like cutting them because then the imagery is more unique to me! Have fun and thanks for watching and commenting!
Your videos are so inspiring! Thank you! I was wondering if I could use parchment paper instead of rice paper?
Thank you Kate! I feel certain that you could use parchment paper, I know you can use deli paper. The key element is a smooth surface (no "tooth") so the print can be captured.
You can always use the back of the stencil if you are ready with a paper
That's a great tip Joanne, thank you!
I enjoy your videos a lot. Which side of the rice paper do you apply to the paint?
Thank you, Sylvia, use the smoother side toward the plate!
Maravilhoso 👏👏 Porque não faz este tipo de trabalho, colocando a tradução?? HELP!!!
Sonia, I will look into this! There is text through the video, yes? Can you get the text in Portuguese perhaps?
Aha! I use metallics all the time for about a month, then not at all for six to eight months. But the interference paints are an intriguing way to metallicize. What’s the big roller stamp with the red handle? Where did you find it? The only ones I ever see are toddler size. Thanks!
Hi Lynn! The rollers came from Lakeshore Learning, I bought them for my granddaughters. Here's the link! www.lakeshorelearning.com/products/ca/p/DR501/
Love these! What is the name of the stencil used at 8:00 and where did you get it from? The one with the numbers and circles? Thanks.
Hi Lisa G, thank you for your question, I'm so sorry I don't have an immediate answer for you, I am looking to locate that source, I know it was unusual...I pulled out the stencil and there is nothing to identify it on there. I will keep looking and post another reply here when I have it!
Hi Vikki! And thanks so much for your videos and your smile.... Would it be possible to show us how to make a painting (not too small) withs different papers painted with the gelli plate? This would be lovely 🙏🙏🙏😉. Thanks for your answer. 🙋🏻
Pasquale, thank you! I have one video on using the collage papers in a painting, but the paintings are rather small...here's that link ruclips.net/video/h37OCbiosB0/видео.html and I will DEFINITELY work on a video showing how to incorporate into a larger piece for you
@@VikkiReed
OH thank you so much!!!! 👍👍👍
I'd like to show you what I paint with gel plates papers and acrylic, but it's difficult for me to make contrasts....
We all have our places we struggle, and then one day, we find the way! Keep creating, you will find what you're seeking
It is so helpful to me to watch you work. Thanks! Do you happen to have a video where you show how to use these for cards? Thank-you.
Madeline, I absolutely do! Here are two links for you..."Making Your Own Greeting Cards with Gelli Plate Prints ruclips.net/video/7EM7FtuDGzo/видео.html and "How to Use the Gelli Plate Printing to Create Inspirational Cards" ruclips.net/video/h_xPMitSVCo/видео.html Thanks for asking and I hope this helps!
@@VikkiReed Oh thanks so much Vikki! I definitely will check them out! I ordered some rice paper , that came today, and I am looking forward for trying your wonderful techniques 😊. Thanks!
@@madelineruehlicke2186 The rice paper is wonderful, but primarily for collage work! For the greeting cards, I love the HP Premium 32, but regular copy paper will do, but you need a heavier body paper, the rice paper is challenging to cut and adhere to greeting cards, I hope that makes sense!
@@VikkiReed Okay yes, totally makes sense. Thanks! I usually mix things up as I get so excited to try!😊
Oooooh! Do you post anywhere the painting you created with theses pieces? I’d love to see it/ them
Zoe G, yes! Thank you, here is a short video showing the pieces in the exhibit...ruclips.net/video/lm7zO_DFBN4/видео.html
Where do you get your stencils? Lovely work!
Thank you Helen! I get my stencils from different sources; the circle design was part of a set from Amazon, the stars came from Hobby Lobby, and I wish I could locate the source again for the cosmic symbols! I also like Joggles.com and Stencil Girl...I'm currently working on Christmas Cards which feature some Stencil Girl Stencils, I do my best to leave a complete list of supplies in the information section below the video!
Around the 10:39 time stamp, what is the stencil that you used right before you use the Stars stencil? It isn't listed on your supply list.
Dorothea, thank you, yes, good eye! I sincerely wish I could find the source of that stencil, which is one of my favorites...I have googled and searched, checked all my usual stencil sources (Joggles, Stencil Girl, Amazon, Dick Blick), and alas I cannot find where I purchased it, and there are no identifying details on the stencil. If I could direct you to where I purchased it, I would, and if I ever do find the source, I will come back and post it here!
@@VikkiReed wow, thank you so much for the quick reply! I really appreciate it. Oh well half of crafting is all about the hunt and finding new and amazing things to use on a gel plate. Thank you for your inspiration!
@@Dorotheacruel Thank you for understanding and yes, you're right about hunting and experimenting being huge parts of the fun! That said, I will share two stencils I have purchased recently...the Sputnik (which I've tried with limited success) from Joggles, www.joggles.com/stencils/aall-and-create-stencils/aall-and-create-stencil-sputnik-79.htm and "Circuit 2", www.joggles.com/stencils/aall-and-create-stencils/aall-and-create-stencil-circuit-2.htm which I haven't tried yet, and just this minute noticed that the word "weird" is misspelled "wierd", so maybe not such a great purchase but the circuitry reminded me some of the "mystery stencil". I'm glad you are feeling inspired, I believe the world is better when we are involved creatively!
Where is your basics how to clean a brayer video? I can't find it. Beautiful papers today!
Thank you, my "basics reel" is under construction, I'm so sorry to not have that ready yet, I will post it shortly!
What do you do with the finished print on rice paper?
My number one question, Norma! I have videos on how to use them to create greeting cards, ruclips.net/video/7EM7FtuDGzo/видео.html and how to apply to a wood panel, ruclips.net/video/IWM_WTl6vUk/видео.html and how to incorporate into a painting, which I do most often, ruclips.net/video/h37OCbiosB0/видео.html and I am working on more projects so we can get our prints out of the bin and into our art!
Enjoyed the video! What rice paper do you use?
Molly, it is JapanBargain Calligraphy Rice Paper from Amazon
@@VikkiReed thank you!
What do you use for paper?
Amanda, in this video I am using rice paper (JapanBargain Calligraphy Rice Paper) from Amazon than is perfect for collage, thank you for your question.
Is “Stars” from Hobby Lobby the one you described as having “space themes”? Is “Stars” the name? What’s the Brand? Asking because I’ll have to order it. Thanks, Vicki.
Hi Lynn, I found the stencil, and yes, it's from Hobby Lobby, I was going to give you the link but it's a paragraph, just Google Stars Stencil from Hobby Lobby, it will come right up! Thanks!
Gorgeous! May I ask what size is your Gelli plate and what size rice paper you use?
Kamryn, yes, in this video I am using an 8" X 10" Gelli Plate, and the rice paper is 13" X 9 1/4", I have a 9" X 12" gelli plate, but for reasons I don't fully understand, I always have better results on the 8" X 10" or smaller plates!
Hi Vikki! Thank you for responding. I DIY’d a gelli plate from a 9x13 pan. The sheets you use looked accommodating. I’m a newbie and never “gellied” before so you inspire me as your work is beautiful. I pondered about size with possible projects in mind. Again, thank you for sharing.
Oh, with results in mind, I may have to make an 8x10. 😊
What is interference paint? 4:33
Thanks for your question, Susan, Golden Interference paint has a sheen or iridescence to it that shows up beautifully on black or dark paper, here's a link to the Golden Site so you can read more about it! education.goldenpaints.com/technicalinfo_iridint
What is interference?
Karen, thank you for your question, Golden Interference Pigments are special pigments designed to show a bright opalescent color (especially on a dark background), here's a link to the Golden Website to learn more! goldenartistcolors.com/products/golden-artist-acrylics/interference-iridescent-colors
I do not about interference paints
Dale, Golden and others make "Interference" pigments which appear to go on white, but contain iridescence. They are much more noticeable on black or dark backgrounds. Here is a link to the Golden site if you would like to learn more www.goldenpaints.com/products/colors/interference-iridescent-colors
@@VikkiReed thanks Vikki I really enjoyed your program on gel prints
@@daledanby6831 I’m so glad, thanks for watching!
Why not see if you CAN paint something a little more satisfying, instead of seeing if you CAN’T paint something a little more satisfying? It’s easy NOT to print something more satisfying; you just stop printing ;o)
You make an EXCELLENT point, Lynn! Thank you!
