We live in Bourbon just about 10 miles from Meramec St pk. We just love the park and bird there a lot through the year. Also, we are about 10 miles from Onondaga St Pk and we love both our state parks.
The CCC changed the way Americans viewed conservation programs. The ideals that lay at the heart of the New deal, Roosevelt’s Tree Army, and the conservation ethic that came to define the environmental movement in the United States, were limited to the educated and elite. The CCC was instrumental in the transfer of those ideals to the uneducated, the immigrant, and the jobless, forever changing not just how the landscape was preserved, but who preserved it. They also used native materials in natural settings to create the park rustic style that continues to define today’s park landscapes. You did a good job highlighting that here.
I love the combination of old photos and current footage. That's the type of thing I'm trying to integrate into my videos more often. Very cool. I love all the old buildings. Cool video.
