  • I know everything will work out eventually. But man this is hard, and I don’t even put out that much content

Hey man, just from one content creator to another, we all seem to get shoehorned into one type of content or another. For some it's long-form, for others it's short-form. It can be hard to break the mold sometimes, but regardless, I hope you keep trying because you've clearly got the talent to attract an audience. Sometimes learning a new form of content isn't automatic and it takes time to develop the right formula. Idk if any of this helps but I hope you aren't discouraged from long-form stuff. Like, I have been discouraged from short-form cuz I can't seem to break into that, you know?

  • @ethanrocha8803

No, this isn’t greedy, this is all very fair.

  • @KommanderKarl

Please remember before this video is taken out of context by anyone that I AM NOT LEAVING RUclips!! I am just discouraged with my view counts on standard RUclips uploads. I know I’m a big creator, I’ve achieved a lot and I’m still very grateful. I know Shorts are doing well and I’m grateful for that too, but Shorts aren’t even a tenth of the income that standard uploads provide and that’s really what I’m needing at this time.

I’m sorry for you man, I hope you can get through this, your an amazing creator and awesome editor, I really hope it goes well

  • @chuckwallagaming

YT is super weird and unpredictable. I’m a really small channel comparatively and sometimes I get a video with 44k views and then my next video gets like 50. Not fifty thousand, I mean literally 50. It has nothing to do with video quality but more of whether RUclips decides to promote the content. Pretty frustrating at times and I completely understand what you mean in this video.

  • @KaletheQuick

I clicked on a old bookmark I had that took me directly to my subscription page, where I saw this vid.

  • @AleksWorkshop

    Welcome to the club Karl.

  • @bambigaming1866

Haven't even watched the video but I LOVE YOUR CONTENT, please continue.

  • @RandomAnimeGamer

I have to be honest - I pretty much ignore the standard gaming content. The videos I like to watch are gaming-related skits, such as NPC, ragdoll, or reload videos. I'm sure there's a ton more that can be done with this format that will keep your creative juices flowing!

  • @mattmccarthy6764

ive been subbed for a while but NEVER get notified of your uploads... but i genuinely like the content. just keep at it, we like your stuff

  • @TheCematrixX

I thought you got hired as a Dev for Postal? Anyway, just reload your RUclips channel😂😂.

  • @axell15thewispmaster79

Carl, you should take a good ol' break. If ypu are burning yourself you won't be able to produce anything. Rest, relax, and come back when you are feeling off the burnout

  • @istarune

I just wanted to drop my support here for you. You are making amazing things, every time you post something, I smile. As a creative type myself, I know how frustrating it feels when people say they love your work, but it just doesn't seen like it's hitting the way you want.

  • @Scarfy101

honestly, i will go out of my way to support you from now on because you're one of my favorite skit youtubers at the moment. i don't usually get notifications and to be frank, i had no idea you did other forms of content for that reason.

  • @fabianibautistafb

    We love you Kommander Karl!!!!

  • @zeniussteely2611

I'm relieved to hear that even big youtubers are struggling, that it's everyone's problem that we all need to deal with for the rest of our career as a content creator.

The whole YT algorithm thing is quite fecked up, the platform is always pushing for more and bigger and it can be very punishing at times. I'm personally miffed with the fact that YT also pushes creators hard to make shorts, but the revenue they get from them is minimal. I get that their logic is that shorts are a medium to attract people to the main content, but it doesn't really work like that. I hope things get brighter here, you deserve that and much more.

  • @modzflare8683

Here for you man, love your content. I hope things improve soon! And you’re a real one for being honest with your viewers I appreciate it.

  • @Mystery-jz5qn

What ever happens with your channel we will be here for you brother, you are a fucking legend love from Australia mate

  • @acidicalportal4418

Dude I can totally relate, I am a much smaller channel with 1.2k subscribers, and have over 350 videos but been doing RUclips for 9 years if I include my old channel. So I too came back much later. But I have the same exact mindset as you of not given up no matter how you feel. That's an excellent way of going about it, we all fail at our careers, our hobbies and our dreams. I sometimes will get videos with less than a 100 views even if I spend all day editing all the time for it to end up being 10 of 10 recent videos, but a winner is made when you keep failing but you keep getting back up like you. This I feel is why I can see you being a channel with over 10 million subscribers someday. I think despite what a lot of people say, their are many channels that have taught me a lot about RUclips data and analytics and what makes a video work, I use to make shorts as well, but the problem was for me was that I ended up having a split audience so everyone watched my shorts didn't watch my long form. Just from my observation of your channel, I see the same happening with your channel, I could be wrong but it looks like most of your views have come from your shorts. The good thing about long form however, is while it doesn't get views quickly like short form (most of the time). Overtime the consistency of content will slowly average out the views higher overtime. So much can happen and change in like 1 year of being consistent believe me, looking very closely at my analytics I use to average about 40 views a day when I didn't upload and now I average about 120 views per day, it may not seem like much of a change but overtime it makes a huge difference. If you look at your data, while you might not be getting huge amounts of views lately, but if you look at your early average of views a while ago in a month not posting vs now, I guarantee your average view count is much higher, your work is still paying off even if it feels like an eternity and one step at a time, believe me. I know it can feel so discouraging sometimes when we want those big numbers and we aren't getting them, but be patient, keep going and I 100% guarantee will be huge. From a channel that is much smaller, 800k is very impressive and you've made it a long ways. I know this was a lot information but to Kommander Karl or anyone reading this, I hope my observations of RUclips will help motivate you and other youtubers to keep perusing your dreams.
