A lot of these actually give really good ideas for unique sci-fi weapon reloading animations, just because of the random locations of things being "reloaded", and sci-fi weapons are at their best with interesting ergonomics and unorthodox loading methods
I think it would be really cool if the reload aggressiveness changed with the situation. Example: In combat: Aggressive ("Come on, come on, Get the F*CK in") Not in combat: Calm (*Carefully exchanging magazines and checking if the fresh magazine is properly inserted*)

I randomly stumbled on this video. And i'm kind of mesmerized by the reloads and how well they're done. I feel like i just smoked an ounce while i just had a couple beers watching this.
For those who don't know, The "Nice Caulk" secret (and achievement tied to it) is achieved by getting a "Perfect Reload" on said weapon. (Perfect Reloads are done by pressing the reload button at the right time to hasten the reload)
Now I want to see a game that only uses weapons like this. I imagine that all of the characters would take it incredibly seriously even though it's very clear that they're imagining all of it.
This is some of the funniest and smartest stuff I have seen; love your content. I plan on making games in the future, and a game with reloads such as these is a priority for me.

Search and Destroy missions would make you go through public service administrations to get your papers done. Collect all the tokens in Wallmart and escape the karens chasing you and old people blocking the way (pvp variant for Black Friday where you fight off other players to get the highest number of tokens)...

Make this FPS brutal in its mechanics, maybe add some politically incorrect but relatable humor to give it some kind of "Duke Nukem : Dad jokes edition" vibe, maybe a story mode but we would need the writing team for GTA, they would know how to make absurd shit from daily life. Yes I'm really hyped by this concept too x)
I just want to point out that one of my favorite details in these videos is your "idling animation" how you just sorta bounce your hands for no real reason, like a true protagonist. Next best thing is well you replicate the... Like, "immediate movement" of doing something as a game character, that 0 to 60 movement.

Reminds me of Borderlands Tediore weapons that has reload grenade throws, where you basically yeet the gun when it's empty, and materialize a new one with full mag.
In MGSV you can throw empty magazines to distract enemy with noise. And throwing them onto someone's head will actually knock them out for a short while.
Now I'm just imagining a heavy duty Fallout-esque scrapmetal gun with an onboard computer that is a children's spelling toy, and you have to type R-E-L-O-A-D to reload and after every kill it says something in a cute voice like "You're my best friend!"

Alright, the ray tracing in this game is absolutely stunning. The way the lights bounced off the arm AND the wall was gorgeous.
