Dude. Am I being uptight or was that a seriously disrespectful question? You are asking why Tom made a record after he said he wouldn't if there wasn't a guitarist there? Maybe I need to watch from the beginning but this interviewer seems VERY pretentious. Tom looks lile he's not having it.

It could be interpreted as sort of 'gotcha,' but it might just be a European thing. Either way it's better than the usual blowing-smoke-up-your-ass interviewer questions. "oh, your new album is the greatest one yet, what inspired it?" etc etc.
