    Thanks for all the informative videos you do on the M45 I have a 2008 M45 sport with 100,000 miles and I myticulous maintain it. It's nice to know someone with the same car has the passion and knowledge of them.

    Hi Ed, my 2006 M35 is going strong (now at 210K). It’s time for the differential service. I have 2 jack stands (harbor freight), two 1.5 ton jacks and a pair of rhino ramps. What would be the best configuration (and order in which to raise) to raise the car to do the job? I can also go out and buy 2 more jack stands.
    I am careful, but would like to follow all the safety precautions.
    Your input will be extremely valuable.
    Thank you.

    Unrelated to this video and thanks for it I need to drain and refill my diff but I was wondering is there a way to set my 2006 m35 base to make the doors lock automatically after I place car in drive or going a certain speed any help or answer will be greatly appreciated

      Hey, unfortunately that feature was not offered in the 2006 models. I don't know how much effort it would take to add it either

    Is Mobile 1 75W 90 acceptable for this car as well? I travel between TN and Florida so the climate is generally warm except for TN winters.

    I'm going to change my diff fluid but I think I'm going to try that pump they make to pull the fluid from the bottle and fill the diff. 👍🏾 But once again bro thanks for your videos they are very helpful to us infiniti owners. 💯💯

    Hey I have a 2006 M35x AWD and I believe my transmission may be slipping. Can you do video on infiniti transmission? Anything I should do before buying a new one ?

    • @EdBwoy
      @EdBwoy  4 года назад

      I would just advice you to buy one with a warranty. If you can get the history of the car donor of the transmission, even better.
      Have a mechanic do it, it's a lot of work

      your differential or "diff" for short is part of your drive train. Engine is connected to your transmission then thru a driveshaft to your rear "diff" then to your axles and eventually spins your wheels when you step on the gas lol

    • @EdBwoy
      @EdBwoy  5 лет назад

      No Sir, I usually prefer that my transmission service is done at the dealer.
      However, it's pretty simple. Jack up the car and you'll see the drain plug at the bottom of the pan. *Don't open it until you know how to fill it though!*

    Hey Ed do you know after how many miles you have to do a rear differential fluid change? I did mine about 20k miles ago, not sure if I should do it again.

    • @EdBwoy
      @EdBwoy  4 года назад +1

      Infiniti at some point suggested 30k. You can obviously do it as often as you please

      What problems would happen if this wasn’t done? I just got an 07 M35 and it’s sometimes lurching and rpm’s going really high/ really low while driving. Also, it’s sometimes dying when I come to an idol.

    • @JESUSISKING77742
      @JESUSISKING77742 8 месяцев назад

      @@rebeccabenz7518 I’m no expert but sounds like an issue with cold air intake or alternator, could even just be a dirty or bad mass air flow sensor (maf) rear different fluid usually just causes issues with steering

    Thank you EdBwoy. Brilliant solution to a daunting task. How I wish this helpful video was there to guide me through this task. First I used a 10 foot long plastic tubing, hoping gravity to do the trick! luckily I had a fluid transferring hand pump on hand. It ended up ok but there was a mess to clean up.

    • @EdBwoy
      @EdBwoy  6 лет назад

      So my idea of using a long tube through the wheel well might not be all that convenient either?
      The gear oil is really thick and viscous, so I suppose it will take pretty long for it to go from bottle to differential.

    • @EdBwoy
      @EdBwoy  6 лет назад

      I have used a transfer pump before (an insecticide spray bottle) while servicing a transmission that doesn't come with a dipstick. What a life saver. There still was a lot of cleanup to do though.

    • @shekharpatel
      @shekharpatel 6 лет назад

      Your ‘long’ tube was less than few inches, there is a definite advantage in using a short tube. One is not sucking the oil out of the differential when the pressure is released on the bottle. With a long tube there is very little control, as it tries to suck the oil back in the bottle.... yes, the oil is extremely viscous, it’s a fight, adds to the complexity of the task. I bought the m35 with 145k miles on it, luckily the previous owner was meticulous in servicing the car and had kept all the records. I am determined to service it in a timely manner and keep it in good running condition for as long as I can. I have drained and replaced transmission fluid (3.75 qts) and already feel the difference. I am currently researching how to drain and flush the radiator and replace coolant.

    • @EdBwoy
      @EdBwoy  6 лет назад +1

      @@shekharpatel ah, I see now. Now that you mention it, my advantage in using a short tube was that the pressure from the bottle would throw the fluid far into the diff.
      I actually have a radiator drain and refill coming soon on the project car. It's a fairly simple process, so I hope to get to it pretty soon.
