There is absolutely no way Noel is not hearing this with his head spinning. The vocals! Best Liam ever.
Noel's songs never stretch his voice and the lyrics were always the same. In this album while not great from a to zero there's at least 8 very good tracks with groove that Liams song never did before.

If you had told me 6 or 7 years ago that Liam would end up outdoing his brother as a solo artist, and that he would sound like this again, I would have laughed at you. Bloody fucking brilliant.

I wouldn't say that he's "outdone" Noel.
He's not writing his own songs. Whereas Noel writes everything himself.

But Noel isn't really chasing anything anymore. He's basically just happy being fairly low key.
Personally, I say it's win win that we get music from both of them.

There was no Oasis without the voice. The songs are great but it was Liam's voice that made it Oasis. I'm glad to hear him

He has an extraordinary voice it’s hard to say what it is that makes it so adored by his fans, the tone, quality and depth is what makes it so easy for me to listen too. Liam would have made it anyway he still has the drive to succeed

agree on that tune sounding great here. too bad it doesn't sound that unrefined (in a good way) on the album. it might have been a great song instead of the start of blistering mess of an album.

that's what Liam uses to make himself sound "good" that's why he spent 5+ years looking for the same reverb setting his original producer used. its like autotune but the 1990's version. Its pretty sad they copied the beatles and still doing the same routine cos it makes a few pennies. Music has been dead for years, its all the same chord progressions over and over every few years to trick you into thinking its "new music"

@@LeeFall reverb isnt gonna make your singing voice sound more in tune, its just him taking the time off and caring for his voice more. and the whole point of oasis was simple, straight forward authentic rock. you dont need to be as experimental as radiohead to make amazing music.

I remember the first time I heard Liam belting out the lyrics to Supersonic on ITV's Chart Show, that was 1994. Spent the next few years stuffing coins in to the pub jukeboxes to play Definitely Maybe and What's the Story Morning Glory all night long. What an amazing end to the 90's decade!

There were questions about his voice during the late oasis days ,well has never sounded better now.

I have to admit, I always liked Oasis as a group, loved Noel, but Liam hasn't always been to my taste though, I mean I get it, you're a big rockstar and all. But when Oasis split and Liam formed Beady Eye I was kind of like meh, it's ok, but it's not the same. I prefer what Noel is doing etc.. But maybe it's Liam mellowing out a bit with age or maybe it's me also mellowing out, I dunno. But this album is pretty amazing. I hear a lot of good influences in it, but it also stands on it's own as a quality piece of work. I went to see Liam with a friend in Melbourne a few months ago and really enjoyed it and would say I'm a bit of a Liam fan now :).
LG had a mild flu that week - between gigs too, so fair play to him. Not being at 100% but still onnit!
