what a lot of people miss is that a certain level of mechanical ability is necessary to unlock your mind. its hard to look at the map and to have the time necessary to think about the map and assess what to do when youre unable to collect cs and trade in lane on autopilot
Virkayu I love your videos so much, there is nobody I like watching more than you! Your videos are the greatest, with lots of information and you can tell how much effort has gone into them, it really shows. Your closing sentence is something that can be applied no matter what you're doing, 'Offset your weaknesses, enhance your strengths, and 100% you will climb much quicker, much more successfully and get all the e-girls or e-boys you've ever wanted.' Seriously though, find your strong points and your weak points and work on them, whether it be studies, an instrument, league or whatever. tbh i have that problem of mechanic. I'll admit, my mechanics arent that good, mostly because i panic, but i have learned the game inside and out. I would have to thank you virkayu for this, but the simple fact is I know what to do, but i cant execute it to its fullest and so i get constant bronze or even iron games. It makes me sad, but I do love the games when there is someone smurfing or they have those mechanics, but tbh i think everyone does.
Both important. Macro is absolutely essential and needed to gain advantages and close the game out. Micro is required to execute on those macro plays. But macro is definitely more underappreciated.
Virkayu I have a question for you, I have played thousands (no joke) of Unranked games and now want to start playing some ranked. The first role I want to main is jungle. In past seasons I have hovered around silver/gold with not to many games played. I can play every jg champion around a goldish skill level and was wondering what you think would be a good champion to main in the jg. I used to love sylas jg but I can’t seem to clear at all with him after all his jg nerfs so now I am open to any suggestions
honestly im plat 4 and have a really good mechanics and hav no idea abt macro or whar fast forward when i watched this video 2months ago im now grandmaster even though its preseason.. i mostly take mid lane and jungling i dominate the game so easily when i practiced my macro combined with my mechanics but the thing is i get too arrogant when in a big lead and will focus on chatting with others instead of focusing on the actual game resulting in a loss
im a low elo aurelion sol main.. idk if hes a macro or mechanically heavy champ. im close to a 70% wr on him on normals but im so scared to take him to ranked. I also have azir as my 2ndary main but my macro is sobad on him. I can do most of the complex combos and the shuffles while also being a team fight god. but my laning phase is so bad.
I think the best play is to make sure the best mechnical player gets fed and play around him. However since we're mainly talking about soloq and not full man premade, it's hard to have macro play where your teammates can be on the same page. Mechanics, however, is independent as long as you're not playing botlane. Which is why botlane sucks. Sure, the adc can hard carry if they have a proper support, but getting a proper support that is on the same page as you and knows what to do is another story.
what i find funny is that the higher i climb the easier the matches become, since my micro is bad nut i have very good macro plays and know where to be at which time :D
If you have great macro, but poor micro, as long as you play chapms that elt you be reliable you should win way more often than the mechanical players with zero macro which becomes way more obvious the higher you go. But also mechanical misplays can become more costly!
As an Iron that plays Normals with bronzes and silvers, I wish more people asked "why" before getting into fights. I walk away from so many mid lane fiestas because dragon is like 2 minutes out, Herald was just taken and Baron spawns in 3 minutes, and we're all just right-clicking under tower dodging skillshots for literally no reason. So I walk over to top and start farming while my team pings me. My favorite scenarios are when the enemy Jungler and Top decide to try and fight me. Depending on who they are, I mechanically outplay them, giving my team the 3v4. So, it's all about both. The macro to know where to be and why, with the micro to know how to turn that macro into a W. Right place, right time, no skill means you die. Wrong place, wrong time, all skill means you have nothing to do.
My problem is not about macro or micro, i have enough of thoose to get out of gold and at least reach platinum but my mental, when people dont listen to my pings when im clearly right i get super angry and i need to duo with someone else to talk so i dont get as angry, even if they are as bad. I started las year playing ranqued even tho i have been playing the game for years and i love rengar so as long as i am calmed i can still 1 vs 5 hard, my promos to gold one was won because i 1vs3 killed top mid and adc with rengar while yi was killing a nasus and then a epic 1 vs 2 vs yi and nautilus where i survived and was able to finish game alone, not the adc nor the mid got to the nexus in time to help. The other one was when we wanted to take soul, yuumi sticked to me like the adc was already dead (its brain was) and i went in a 2 vs 5 with yuumi in my back in the jungle against mf shadow assasin and fed kassadin, cant remember top nor support. In this two seasons i have done the same, i get to gold and i start making excuses to not play because of the huge stress i feel when playing alone.
It's crazy that this is even a debate in what is essential a strategy game. I've literally never seen a player hard stuck in low elo with even decent macro play. Tons of hard stuck one tricks who have decent micro though.
Both can't be separated, as bad mechanics can punish good macro and bad macro can punish good mechanics. It's useless to recognise good ganking opportunities if you can't execute them properly, having bad mechanics will just make it so farming is always the better option.
I agree but i do not play hard champs as a jungler because it can affect my macro so having a to showcase difficult champs montages isn't important to me in solo queue if i have my teammates do it and the rest is well....me
