John C. Reilly gives one of the best performances of all time in the film magnolia does not receive enough credit for that
Absolutely and imo Tom Cruises best performance
INDEED
Aww John saying hi to Katie is so sweet.
Not. Enough. "Walk Hard" discussion. One of the greatest comedies ever made. Would have loved to have heard stories about the making of it.
It really is a phenomenal movie
“You don’t want no part of this shxt!” 😂
He would have had to think about his entire life first. No time.
I told you, I can't build you a candy house! It will fall apart, the sun will melt the candy, it won't work!
I clicked on this video hoping for WH Talk
Best man on earth award easily goes to Dr. John C. (Brule) Reilly. Took my cousin whos a cameraman out to lunch with him. Cuz said he's the kindest and most fun talent he's ever worked with. Good dude all around.
“SWEET BERRY WINE!” lol
Most videos on youtube ask for a "like". Pete earns it!
First time I cried during a YMIW interview, wasnt expecting it to be during this one. I had an extremely similar dream as John when my mom passed. Too similar an experience that I was shocked to tears while listening to his account.
Boogie Nights was the first time I saw John. He has been a treasure in everything I've seen him in!
Been a Pete fan for decades and I've never considered how excellent his voice is for radio and in this case podcasting
John C Reilly is the greatest treasure in acting. They call him "the chameleon" and it's so accurate. This dudes filmography is ridiculous! John C. Reilly literally improves everything he's involved in. When I see his face I smile, every time, without fail. Probably the most underrated actor in history. And he should be celebrated!
"Thank you for sharing your love with the world" What a delightful interview and human being, thanks Katey and Pete!
Pete: “DID WE JUST BECOME BEST FRIENDS??”
John: “YEP!”
Pete: “DO YOU WANNA GO DO PODCASTING IN THE GARAGE??”
John: “YEP!”
From the second this interview starts I can feel the energy building within Pete as he desperately restrains himself from immediately asking about Paul Thomas Anderson stories lmfao.
Also have to say, John C. Reilly looks so dapper. Dude can be so silly and ridiculous and so dignified
He should have been nominated for Stan and Ollie. He was absolutely incredible in that. Crushed and broke my heart
I feel like a very underrated movie of his would be Kong Skull Island. Honestly he is the best part of the whole film. Well, half of it, he doesn't even show up until about an hour in.
OK no freaking way, John C Reilly is like my favorite actor of all time
That's all we got ❤
I'm so enjoying these podcasts, and this one especially hits home for me. I love when you go deep with the guests and talk about someone with such depth. Thank you for this incredible interview!!!
check out the 700 eps that are audio only, theres some reaaaaallllly good ones. and some that go for like, 3+ hours? get into it.
As a big fan of Pete and John, this is one of the best episodes ever in my opinion. In other words (petes words), "this shit is McDonald's, I'm loving it."
That was great! John C Reilly is a world class actor and he has some depth too. I feel like he was just getting warmed up when he had to leave. Great questions by Pete too!
Wonderful conversation thanks guys
How did I not know this was on RUclips?
Seriously love your pod and interview style. I especially like the breadth of conversation and the significant leads you share to offer jumping off points.
(Heard you talk about Homeboy Industries as was writing and smiled. That's a great employer with a significant message.)
the video is nice but most of my favorite eps are audio only
Homeboy Industries! I Love You, Pete!!!!
Awesome.
Was as good as I hoped it would be.
The boogie nights and Magnolia stories are amazing!
Thoroughly enjoyed this!
So great! I love JCR! Really great stories and great questions. I'm a huge fan of all these actors. Philly C especially. So its was great to hear some more stories about him.
Holy shit, what a legend. Reilly is fantastic.
Wonderful interview! 👏😍
An absolute legend. Great video!
One of the best episodes, love John!
Another 💎!! See you in Dania Beach next week!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thanks, John and Pete! Awesome! Great Job!... For Your Health!
48:07 Goddammit, I’m eating French onion dip right now. I wasn’t expecting to hate myself until much later in the day. Thanks for the head start, fellas. 🖤
Really good interview!!!

PTA when creating MAGNOLIA said I’m going to make THE QUINTESSENTIAL LA STORY/MOVIE ……
Or the Greatest LA Story
No one makes me laugh harder than Dr. Steve Brule.
I'll tell him you said that.
My face starts to hurt if I watch more than a couple
“ the reason I’m here in this show“ “edit that out!“ 🤣
John is one of the best comedic actors ever. I wish comedy movies could still go hard like they used to, and I'd love to see him starring in one
U clown bro? 😂
I'm convinced everyone has a podcast now. I think my neighbors dog just started one.
him saying he used to eat a whole pie out of the tin while watching green acres spoke to me (as much as hovering over a toaster)
True bro energy from John.
Thanks, really enjoyed this. Quick pitch; 3 Stooges remake = Peat as Moe, John as Larry, Jack Black as Curly.
I'd watch that!
Love that I can rely on the video cadence now!
The end of Ace Ventura aged extremely well.
Walk Hard is one of the comedy GOATs, as is John C. Reilly and Dr. Steve Brule!
Yup!
He was Great in Boogie nights!
Easily one of the greatest entertainers of all time
Anybody notice that Pete is starting to look more fit and sharp?
He wants to fill in the Badman costume. The Batman got to him :P
I heard he’s the new Adam Warlock.
this is Pete posting under a different name.... or his mom.
Good
Absolutely STOP EATING PETE
Legend!
the quick story about PSH and NYC was a very intimate moment to share. don't have the timestamp, maybe 10 minutes from the end
Hey hey hey!!
This fella is constantly crashing his car around County Kerry. Like a pissed up circus clown, he always has smile on his face.
Fucking love John, some amazing stories
Wow. What John said about the dream he had about his dad, I had something similar happen with my mom. She had died a few weeks before and night. I had a really vivid dream where I was walking down the street and she was there and it was a normal street but on the left-hand side of the street I saw one of the slides that would slide down on a piece of potato sack or carpet. across the street to the right of that, my mom was standing and I walked up and she was talking to me, asking me why I didn’t visit more, I was out of state and had a business to take care of. Which, thinking about it, really isn’t an excuse.
In any case, I hugged her and told her that I loved her and that I would live the same life over again because of how much I enjoyed it. Then, somebody took my hand, and I don’t know who it was, because I couldn’t see their face. I don’t know if it was my grandma or Jesus. but they walked up to the top of the slide. There was a bunch of people standing, but we walked around them. When I got to the top of the slide with that person, they said I didn’t have a ticket and it wasn’t my time. Then they pushed me down the slide and I woke up crying like a baby. Uncontrollably.
Realizing that it wasn’t just a dream. Either I died my sleep and they sent me back or it was vivid dream for my mom to say goodbye. One where, if they would’ve let me through… I don’t know if I would’ve come back. Because it was the happiest I had felt in a very long time. Like I was in good hands and all of the worries of the world disappeared. I cried uncontrollably for probably a half an hour after that. Because it was so powerful.
Just amazing to know that others have had dreams similar. Great interview, Pete.
Hope John doesn't stop doing pods because of this
10 minutes in and I really hope these two even out a bit, its pretty awkward at the moment. lol
And then we cut to commercial. 😂
1:27:22 Luis Guzmán? (Also in Magnolia!)
and boogie nights lol
1:27:26 Luis Guzmán, and JCR was in Boogie Nights together.
You got the good Dr on the show?!!! 😮😁
The perfect storm
FOR YOUR HEALTH
John's dream about his father was really moving
Great podcast, thank you!
Steve Brule !!!
We need a Dr. Steve Brule Netflix series please. Thanks
Reilly should play P.T. Barnum since he looks EXACTLY like him.
Days of thunder
Check it out!
Dr. Brule!
For your Health!
Well, if it isn't Cal Naughton Jr. himself!
It’s dr Steve brule!!
Should he play Colm Meany in the Colm Meany story?
Vitacoco is delicious
DID HE TAKE TO IT
If a celebrity doesnt voice their personal beliefs then theyre likely based.
He needs to be on finding your roots

LAST RESORT
Pete holmes gives the best/worst fake laugh 😅😅😅 i wonder if Reilly will be in Dick Tracy sequel.
1:16:37 I always said , for over 25 years , if you got to piss just piss . write that down
No "god question" at the end? 😞
Just a quick reminder that squirrels forget about 80% of the acorns they bury....that's where acorn trees come from
Nice fun fact!
Squirrels performing acts of kindness just by being ditzy.
Sarah Silverman
not generally a pedantic asshole but its not an acorn tree, its an Oak tree.
@@BWoodDFW CORRECT! 🤗🤗🤗🤗
Everytime i see john, all i see is "dale" from step brothers
Speaking of Steve Martin that dude is so legendary someone they haven't tried to cancel which is surprising if you go and watch I am back in the day in 1979 just dropping the n-word lol again Steve Martin's legend I'm not saying to I'm just surprised he wasn't attacked in the soft world nowadays
1:28:00 Raul Julia
Mr.Coxxx
Luis Guzman?!?
Just when you think you can't like Reilly more
Seriously... Does anyone watch the intro and not skip to the interview? Be honest
I literally just watched the whole thing and thought, "I should've skipped to the interview", then read your comment
In my dreams you're blowing me........some kisses!
Walk Hard still one of the funniest films ever made IMO
The wrong kid died!
You don't want no part of this Dewey!
It's not habit forming!
It's the safest drug there is!
I kinda want a part of it
😄
Luis Guzman
Get out of here, you watching this! YOU DON’T WANT NONE OF THIS SHIT!
People don't understand that the prices of things are never going back down. This inflation is deeper than we think. Those buying groceries are well aware that the real inflation is much over 10%. The increments don't match our income, yet certain investors still earn over $365,000 in stocks and assets. Wish I could accomplish that.
Financial planning is like navigation. If you know where you are and where you want to go, navigation isn't such a great problem. It's when you don't know the two points that it's difficult
Very possible! especially at this moment. Profits can be made in many different ways, but such intricate transactions should only be handled by seasoned market professionals.
Having an investment advisor is the best way to go about the stock market right now. I was going solo, but it wasn't working. I've been in touch with an advisor for a while now, and just last year, I made over 80% capital growth minus dividends.
Finding yourself a good broker is as same as finding a good wife, which you go less stress, you get just enough with so much little effort at things
Derek demonstrates an excellent understanding of market trends, making well informed decisions that leads to consistent profit
An hour 43 of Pete congratulating John on being successful despite his non-pretty-boy appearance lol
I thought that, too. You're not Tom Cruise, so it's amazing you ever got hired.
Yeah, it was a bit tacky and passive-aggressive and you could tell Reilly was a bit annoyed during that section.
How Pete lands some of these huge guests every once in a while is baffling to me.
