I never expected Knoxville and Pete to vibe this much, this was a really good one
But that’s Pete’s superpower. You don’t expect it but you can’t be shocked. Cause it’s just Pete being Pete.
Two of my all time favorites having a lovely conversation while wrapped in matching jean jackets. Magic. Thanks, Pete.
The energy throughout this show is incredible. it was like two friends catching up. Great interview.
31:30 I'm just going to time stamp this because I know I'm going to need it later. Thanks fellas.
Smallest smile is ONE OF THE BEST GAMES EVER CREATED
damn man Knoxville choking up at the end thinking about his father got me good- great ep
I’ve been dealing with anxiety for a while now and I’m just barely getting better. I now associate You Made It Weird with my comfort and relaxation. Thank you for helping me realize so much about myself and how to properly meditate with the John C Reilly episode. I’m so happy I started to listen to this podcast and thank you Pete for your amazing comedy too that helped make me laugh when I felt like I couldn’t enjoy anything. Also thank you to anyone who reads this. You are loved and appreciated and I hope you feel the same way I do, if not now then some day. :)
"HI IM JOHNNY KNOXVILLE AND WELCOME TO RIFFING BITS!" thanks Pete for all ya do!!!
Pete Holmes changed my life path. Forever grateful.
SAME!
Same here. Pete is truly a comedian.
How?
@@davidadams2395 after reading his book on it lead me to RamDass and the journey begun.
Also interested as to how? Love hearing him speak but interested to know your perspective
Super enjoyable. I subscribed. Loved your HBO show. Wish it was still on.
I’ll listen to this pod until he stops making it ❤ I look forward to it every week
I've heard the name Pete Holmes but never seen anything with him but love Knoxville.... The guy is a great interviewer and pretty funny. Great episode.
My gosh, beautiful episode Pete.
This was a great one, im so glad they do video too. I love this podcast!
Johnny talking about his dad was pretty great.
So glad I found this show, so many good guest, and so many good interviews. ❤
Halfway through and I am hoping Eric Andre shows up with a cattle prod
Man I grew up watching college humor on RUclips as a kid, always loved the Batman ones. Glad to see you’re doing well man
What a great interview! I feel like Pete & Johnny started on different pages, kinda missing each other’s energy - but neither stubbornly stood ground and each felt into the other, and the latter 2/3s of the interview was flowing & fun. What a ride.
Good to know because I'm still in the first 3rd of the interview, and Pete's driving me slightly batty with his existential angst.
@@davidadams2395same...like- pete knows absolutely nothing about Knoxville. and maybe i know too much about him cuz im a huge fan...but im
pretty sure pete thinks there are only 2 jackass movies lol
"Sobie noodles?"
@gingerale3070 Yeah, I picked up on that.
Every time he said "Johnny," I cringed. Nobody calls him Johnny, they call him "Knoxville."
And his name is "PJ" anyway.
But it was a great show and I enjoyed it very much. It came together in the end.
Honestly it was saved by the small smile game
hows it 2024 and PETE fricken holmes doesnt have 1 million subs wtf, the OG,THE GOAT of Being a weird ass god lovin human being
Great chat! Felt a little cold at first but warmed up after all the jiz$
HI IM JOHNNY KNOXVILLE AND WELCOME TO RIFFING BITS!" - thanks Pete for all ya do!!!
I assume Joe was wearing a denim jacket while editing this episode
This ended and our loud I went “wow that was great”
great sauce!
Whistle while you Work and Pull and Shoot...can i get that on one of those Mission Statement posters!
How did I not hear about the movie sweet dreams until this podcast I’m so hyped to go check this out!!!
"We're in Outer Space, Dad!" title of Pete's next special
This episode is sponsored by Levi’s Jean jackets
Love the blazing saddles reference
What a legend
i cannot think of any product i would buy that was advertised by a comedian, it makes me remember norm on his youtube podcast whenever he would try to read an ad
Johnny Knoxville. We grow up together with the jackass movies. Loved him in men in black. He’s my age dang he looks great. Awww.
I miss my dad too
Pete doesn't know about partyboy...
The premiss is soo messed up but the ringer was such a great movie.
You should mention to him that he should play his dad. As a fictional but real character and I bet it would be a great movie.
Baseline Enya ❤
Clapp got real in the end ❤❤❤
Good ol' Phil.
You can take klonopin for an acid trip, JUS SAYIN
Would love timestamps! ❤
What is the book Knoxville was talking about? That Thompson had everyone read?
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Hunter S. Thompson.
Sorry, I meant the book in the room that Thompson had everyone reading from the Knoxville was nervous to read
@@bryannicolosi8055 The Curse of Lono
another great pod for the books. get geoffrey asmus.
You know what would have been a great question?... After finding out that his folks passsd recently you should have asked what they thought about jackass 1-3.
I was a boyy! Now I’m a bat🦇
I think he's thinking of Jim Carrey. He's always said his dad was funnier than him, but he had to work and be a "normal person."
Johnny is a shockingly good actor - totally unexpected considering Jackass
45:45 Well they were all already friends from both standup and a few from AA. And Johnny has been a bigger star that any of them, other than Jay Mohr. So it makes sense. Theo and Dumbfounded are two of Bobby’s very best friends. It like if Pete walked into a set as a lead with all of the Jackass guys.
Jackass haunted tour !!! Would be rad af
save the acting for late Pete, now is the time for standup, we miss you
SOMEONE SMOOTH OUT THE BACK DROP PLS
why do they match
35:02 as someone who struggles with addiction, does anyone else cringe and get a bit annoyed when pastor Pete talks about addiction like he thinks he understands?
Pete Holmes is the example of every Christian who thinks they know about someone’s actual problem but don’t understand it whatsoever
goodbye twitter world. OJ finally gone forever
Someone with your wealth and success and nearly 1 million subscribers you should have stands for the mic lol 😅 I don't know why it bothers me but when you start off holding the mic that's okay but when you get this big buy some stands
Every time you called him "Johnny" I cringed. Famously, everyone refers to him in person as "Knoxville" because HIS REAL NAME IS "PHIL!!!"
In special features of the original show, you can even hear him being referred to as "Phil."
The name he actually goes by irl is P.J. not Phil, and yeah you'll hear it in the bts. But people do call him Johnny, just not the Jackass guys. It's his professional name and actors and directors he works with often call him that.
@katellama6348 I think you're right. My mistake. It is PJ.
But it's like answering to different nicknames in your personal life. If you hear one of your names and you don't know who is calling you, you can often tell who the person is or how close they are to you. At least that's what happens to me.
I remember watching David Letterman with Kid Rock on his show and he said "Hi Bob!" Because of course, his real name is Robert Ritchie.
So I know that anyone who calls Knoxville "Johnny" doesn't know him personally and isn't much familiar with his work, because all the Jackass crew and other professional associates call him "Knoxville" on camera, at least now. They used to call him PJ off camera. Nobody who knows him well calls him "Johnny" because that's not his name.
Johnny ❤❤❤🎉🎉❤❤

@@squanchy666 Let's see! Another failed podcast.
@No1ANTAGON1ST a podcast that millions of people have been listening to for years. That doesn't qualify as unsuccessful by any metric. What have you ever produced that millions have enjoyed? Basic vapid internet snark? Good luck picking up a sponsor
Can't watch the interviewer is incompetent and whiny.
