I can't believe Steve Martin is almost 80. He's looked like a 55 year old man for 45 years now...
Steve looks great for his age, but if you look like him now at 55 you have some problems.

It's a sign of true talent.
I think Conan is naturally a self-deprecating person so when he talks with the Martins who are both so good at being the snobby other-deprecator, it's a great match.

The amount of talent in that room is mind boggling. Three absolute powerhouses that have each in their own way shaped the landscape of comedy and touched so many people. If you were to tally up the amount of laughs each of them have evoked, I'd have to assume it would be a number so big you wouldn't even no how to pronounce it. 500 gabagoolion laughs.

I will never be able to get enough of Martin Short. I about had a heart attack when they first announced OMitB, then again when they announced season 2 and again with season 3. I LOVE him and Steve's dynamic. Martin Short is easily the best talk show host guest. He just murders it. And him roasting Steve at his award ceremony had me crying. God bless him.

Martin Short is so underrated. He’s so witty and does it all. Physical and mental comedy. Great impersonations. Just interesting all around.
I attended McMaster university in Hamilton in the 1980’s a few years after Martin Short was a student there. Part of the first year psych course was video clips of various conditions with Marty acting them out. They weren’t meant to be comedic but they were still hilarious. He would have filmed these more than 40 years ago and he still looks about the same.
I assure you he is not underrated. At all.

I hesitate to bring this up because it obviously shouldn't define his later career, but I was absolutely touched in seeing how Martin Short dealt with the loss of his wife. He handled it with such grace, humility and with such gratitude to his partner. It really moved me.
"Conan's shorts represent a toxic work environment," so quick, intelligent and just plain silly...all three...at home with who they are...just brilliant!
Followed by Conan, "We settled out of court." Wow.

I had the awesome experience of seeing the show at Caesars Palace they are referring to. They don't advertise who their guest appearance is going to be before the show, so seeing Conan walk out was one of the greatest surprises of my life. The tickets were probably one of the best birthday gifts of my life from my wife!

I think he should play the murder victim, and then the whole season we learn all kinds of crazy and disturbing facts about his life.
Plot twist: Conan plays himself in the show and Martin Short gets to write all the "facts" about him.

I would pay to have dinner with Marty and Conan together. They have a special chemistry together. Martin is IMO still tremendously underrated as an all time great comedian. Bring Ed Grimley back we need him now more than ever! And Steve Martin an all time great and HOFer also. Respect - and laughs - to them all.
And during the entire dinner I'd be terrified to utter a word.

My first introduction to Marty Short was watching Innerspace in a middle school biology class. No one really compares to his specific brand of physical comedy and comedic voice. Jiminy Glick revival when?

@@KissMyAssassin You can't go by his films. Some people only know him from that. But his TV work, Broadway, his work with Steve Martin, it's unparalleled.
Yeah, he's perfect for "Only Murders." (Or maybe it's perfect for him.) I think it works so well because the other characters act as a foil to Oliver's ridiculousness. So if he's occasionally annoying or egotistical, the show is aware of it.
Martin is very intelligent and he can easily tell everything. His attraction is physical and emotional comedy. He seems to be a genuinely warm-hearted person who is funny.

I love when great comedians from separate generations appreciate each other's careers. You can see it both ways here and that they all truly love the artform. We need more people like that in comedy today.
The caliber of wit between Martin and Short is immense. You'd be hard pressed to find that kind of skill these days.

Martin Short is the guy i watch, when hes doing the rounds for publicity. His interviews never miss and i think he has one of the cleanest, immediate deliveries of nonsense that makes ya laugh

If Martin Short wrote a book about his experiences in show business, I guarantee that would be an instant bestseller both because it would be super interesting, but also hilarious, obviously.

Steve Martin is one of my childhood heroes. I had all four of his comedy albums from Let'ts Get Small to the Steve Martin Bros. Martin Short I've been a fan of his since his SC TV days. Two brilliant comedians.
