Ok, the new-gen Honda Passport, Honda does their own thing, and it seems to work for them, targeting real off-roading machines like the Jeep Wrangler (midsize body-on-frame 4x4) or Grand Cherokee 2-row (midsize unibody 4x4), Toyota Land Cruiser or 4Runner (midsize, both body-on-frame), and the Ford Bronco (midsize body-on-frame), the question is, is anyone asking Honda to build a off-roader or is this just Honda saying look at us
Crazy to see how they have progressed. My mom had the rebadged isuzu first-gen passport and it was definitely a love hate relationship cause the engine would turn off when she came to a stop. 😂
some of the design features are definitely giving me a Honda Element vibe: the short overhands and front/rear designs, the backpack style roof in back. Gotta say, I love it.
Honda did a great job on this vehicle, perfect size and great functionality with looks to match. If they can get it over 300hp I’ll get one so might wait for the black edition.
Good effort by honda and very good rival for the CX70 crown Signia new Murano highlander blazer and Atlas cross. 👍. Can't wait until some people say its a freaking wrangler bronco 4 runner and Land cruiser rival . Which its not and there is nothing wrong with that.
Right when Kirk said Honda should never get rid of this, I was thinking Honda should get rid of this. The systems are fine, but the use of space and placement of the center control display needs to change. Moving the gear shifter is a good idea for them to get started on.
For the most part, yes. The VCM-3 introduced in the 2016 pilot has shown to be reliable since it's inception, the older VCM-1 and VCM-2 systems (2 especially) had issues but those presented themselves much earlier.
Happy to see it, although I wish they released this information before I bought this POS 2024 Tacoma. I will happily take my medicine and trade the Tacoma in when these come out. All set to order my Sonic Grey Pearl, Trailsport Elite with black interior...hopefully have it for some camping this summer.
be careful Honda huge recall on their V6 in many models rod bearing failures. was really hyped over this new passport but now i'm going to wait see what happens with the engine recalls. sorry to rain on your parade Kirk.
The Odyssey and Ridgeline better copy the climate panel from the Pilot and Ridgeline from the Passport and not jump on the crapacitive bandwagon. For the Odyssey though, they should redesign the stuff below the climate panel because practical minivans should have open space and removable storage instead of permanently fixed consoles, perhaps the shifter can be squeezed in below the starter button and be a lever that resembles the 8th gen Civic handbrake
Really nice, reminds me of the old Subaru Brat dedication. Not a fan of the air inlet, for if it is used to keep out water, where do they think the water is going to go with fording??? Also, why not have a step bumper, how are we going to get to the roof?
Looks pretty good overall! Manufactures need to cool it with the giant stamped letters for the vehicle names. It’s cool to see the name spelled out, even with stuck on letters but I don’t need to see from a mile away. Like the black letter option on the one model…too much!

The new Passport was one I was waiting for... until I saw the push button gear selection. Love the direct buttons and knobs elsewhere but please. Please. Give me a traditional shifter Honda! It's a much better fit for the Passport and this target market - especially on the Trailsport trim.
Being limited to 31” tires is kinda a bummer. I THINK THE Pilot trailsport tires are larger… Correct? Styling is a big improvement… ground clearance is not sufficient for many off road conditions IMO.

That makes it not great at on-road driving. Using the platform of Acura MDX and Pilot and expected Ridgeline. Global Light Truck Platform.
