The AEWC300 and AEWC400 are very similar to the 32 but are a little thicker and richer and sound. The 300 being a solid spruce top and the 400 is flame maple. The build and construction is absolutely ridiculous. They are absolutely gorgeous guitars. They also have the asymmetric neck being thinner on the treble side. I own both. www.ibanez.com/usa/products/detail/aewc400_5b_05.html# www.ibanez.com/usa/products/detail/aewc300_5b_05.html#
My preferred acoustic guitar is a Jasmine S35... cause' that's all I own. I'm in the market for a decent Acoustic-Electric, and possibly a Tokai Rock Love. I just don't have a bike to trade for it...yet. :D
I wonder whether you have played a Martin Sigma TB-1, the thin bodied Sigma, and if so, how it compared, perhaps, to this instrument? If you haven't played one, perhaps you could review it? Thanks. Impressive playing!
Bromo is a brand sold om Amazon. Never thought I'd buy an Amazon guitar, but it blows away all my other budget acoustics. Yamaha is the beginner guitar many point to.
I just got this guy yesterday! Overall I find it ridiculously easy to play. The action is low enough that it's super comfortable, but high enough to have no fret buzz. Intonation is great too. No setup really needed. And the finish is to die for. It definitely screams "pick me up and play with me." My biggest cons are that finger style with the included strings sounds kind of tubby (my B string reminds me a little of the G string on a classical guitar with nylon strings - kind of a full thud at some parts of the fretboard). It's way better with a pick. Also, there is not much of a low end unplugged. I'll see how a string change impacts all of it. I haven't had a chance yet to plug it into an amp to see how that sounds, but every review I've found says that it brings back the low end. Overall for a couch guitar, or some studio use it is fantastic. It's super comfortable to just noodle on for hours. I'm not sure it would be loud enough for playing in a bar unplugged. For my use case where I tend to practice late at night while my wife and kid are sleeping, the quiet is a feature. For others it could be a flaw.
Probably the best guitar I have ever owned. Outplays my gibsons, esp, fenders, takamine, prs, martin custom shop, rickenbacker. This new with no discount a 6th of the price of even the used price most of what else I have, made me want to cry.
I just got mine and chose the Dark Green Sunset Fade. It's gorgeous. Plays very well and is the closest thing to an electric guitar that I could find that was priced reasonably. It's a thin body, very very nice neck and my hand doesn't get as tired as it does if it's a regular acoustic guitar. It sounds very good even unplugged but plug it in and it's really nice. You can't beat the price point. I might change the nut and the tuners but I just got it so I'm not in any hurry yet.
@@roarickshu Ok so I've had it for a few weeks now. Only thing I've changed are the strings. The tuners are holding it in tune quite well. It's punching waaaayyyyyy above it's weight for the price point. Still extremely happy
@@roarickshu I can say this....if you're looking for an acoustic that feels more like a nice electric in your hands, this is it. I played Martins and Taylors and Guilds, Fender acoustic / electric guitars and none of them felt this good. Go try one if you're interested. You'll be glad you did
I got the aewc11-tcb about a year ago and I am amazed at ibanez' quality for such good prices. I changed the strings to some Ernie ball light aluminium bronze but other than that it is to die for, honestly the best buy I've made in my life. This seems like a step up because mine is a bit thicker and of course in another price range, so I appreciate your review, I might keep this one in mind when I look for another guitar👍👍👍
Wow .. awesome playing.. And I love acoustic ibanez. Own one for the last 30 years . .sounds amazing... Keep the videos coming on some more acoustic ibanez guitars. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾 Even some higher end ones.
I bought the AEWC300(original in that shape I believe) cause I have a big ribcage for my size and normal dreadnoughts never fit me right but I didn't want to sacrifice as much sound going ¾ size. It's the perfect happy medium. It's lack of thickness and comfort contours are amazing
Something that has a thin body and sounds great are the ones in the Cort SFX series. I had to get a thin one because of a shoulder problem. Bought the SED model, and it's so good, I just ordered a Myrtlewood. Incredibly loud and sound great.
@@ChrisJams2 These are only available from Thomann. Not available in the US. Not a big deal, and they have a good price on them and will ship to the US in a few days.

@@MommyMatilda Aye that's lit. Heard a lot of people saying this acoustic sounds thin or flat compared to full acoustics. How do you feel regarding that?
@@jessjohnreed7964 for me it sounds “thin”, which is kind of the sound i was going for when it comes to acoustic/electric. this is a huge upgrade compared to my tiny spectrum beginner! personally, i love how it plays. some people looking for a bigger sound might want to do some more looking because this guitar definitely doesn’t have a huge sound
Nice demo, you flow and explore the neck with fun and aggression, like me. Nice acoustic I was looking at the blue one and this is great you sold it for me Thank you. Try a Jim Dunlop 38mm pick...flippinFast with precision. Excellent video.
As an Ibanez junkie I immediately felt in love when I saw this acoustic cuz it’s a rare thin body acoustic but after many tries I just can’t get over the tone. I think the thin body really killed the tone on this guitar cuz it has literally zero bass and sounds super twangy. I ended up getting a cheaper AEG and it sounded better 😅 doesn’t play as nice but sounds more like a typical acoustic. This thin line is great in theory but just couldn’t deliver the acoustic sound needed. It’s truly a shame cuz I love the look, its got a cool sharp cutaway, and a thin neck that plays like a dream. It’s just… doesn’t sound very good, to me and couple folks I know in person at least 😅
Which do you think would have a fuller sound unplugged between this one and the aewc 400? The 400 is a little thicker but people still say it doesnt soumd very good unplugged, but i love the style and playability of these guitars
I seen one at a guitar shop, and now I’m In love! Since there was no nice colors in stock so I made a personal request to ship in different colors. While I’m waiting, I have a few questions, can I play in effectively in a crowd for a audience, without a amp, can I rely on the acoustics?
What settings are you using to get that sound when plugged in?? It's so clean, I've seen it on other videos with other guitars, but idk how you get that sound??
Just out of curiosity, when you said "you started singing it..." was that The Outfield? Because that was what I started singing right away and right before it was Born to run?
Hey Jimmy. Have you ever tried Yamaha A P X 300 guitar. I have one and to me it plays like a electric guitar. It is acoustic electric and plays. It runs about 300.00 dollars. Try one.
This vid kinda sold me on the guitar, I was already heavily looking at it but this put the nail in the coffin! But I was wondering….. at what point in your life did you say “hey I want flame tattoos coming up my right arm!” ?? Was it on a whim? Was it part of your yesteryears? I’m not being mean I just really want to know what possesses someone to do that?! I’ve got plenty of friends who went through the tattoo years and luckily I just watched in horror, but I see some I just have to question why
Hahah honestly funny enough I saw the guitarist Gus G playing for Ozzy and he had it on his picking hand arm and I thought it was so cool. I got it when I was like 19. Also, being someone who collects tattoos, I definitely have some I wish I could sell off hahah but my flames I actually still love.
simple answer for you andy! i DONT lol! for real... i play electric at acoustic gigs usually with my helix and play on clean. As far as campfire and beach, i have only ever played if someone has a guitar there already!
That guitar looks gorgeous but it sounds rather "thin" when played unplugged, lacking some serious mid-low and low end, I guess because it is so narrow. Of course that is fixed when plugged to an amp but, still quite a letdown compared to other electric acoustic guitars.
I'm currently looking to purchase this model, a local retailer has one that plays like a dream. Does anyone know a good hardcase that fits that specific size of guitar? I'd like to protect it well.
Wow!! those guitars are remarkably comparable! both are great... Both companies are known for great quality! I think I would personally go with the Yamaha!
All these acoustics that are supposed to be mimicking the feel of electric guitars all sound like ukuleles to me. 😂What's the point? I get you can dial in your tone when plugged in.. but I still don't get it. Pretty guitar though.
It's not worth $450. I've owned 2 AE model Ibanez acoustics. I returned one, and gave the other away. They are small, and comfortable. I really did like the neck, but that's the only part of this guitar I'm sure was made of wood. If you want a cheap Ibanez thin bodied acoustic, look at the Talman. It sounds better, it's made of real wood, and costs $200 less. His 'friend' that lent him this brand new guitar must work for Sweetwater, or you would not see the logo on the screen nor heard their name repeatedly.
@@jimmyfranklin I might have bought this guitar from Sweetwater. Donated it to a friend's cancer benefit. I did like how it felt in my hands/lap. I could not see gigging or recording with it. Enjoyed the video.
