    The worst thing with these drivers is that their lack of trade plates might mean they’re not insured which is very bad.
    Apart from that though, this is a very long and unremarkable video.

      They will be insured, Trade plates only cover road tax and nothing else, they work for BCA who fully insured every vehicle that goes out on the road in their name. Also every vehicle I used to drive had MOT (or was exempt). Basically a set of Trade plates shows the police or DVSA that the vehicle has no road fund licence but is exempt for the purposes of this journey which is either for delivery or for modification (in this case delivery).

    • @GTAmotor05
      @GTAmotor05 Год назад +4

      The other vehicles most likely are insured hence no trade plates. The trader is the guy with ! The trade plates so he doesn't have to go through the bother of having the vehicle insured an tax the normal way...
      When those vehicles are delivered am sure the vehicle he was inn will have its own proper documentation when its on the site of delivery

There is intimidation if you're not driving as fast as the person behind wants to go, ignoring of speed limits and general idiocy. There are too many cars and too many idiots. Rant over!!

    I have been driving for 51 years, most mileage on motorways. Your video certainly does not show the worst, bad yes but not the worst The worst driving I have seen is urban where the speed limits are 30 - 40MPH. The drivers in your video footage maybe driving with UC&A, that is for the police to decide. The prevalent bad driving in my experience is driving to speed limits not condition. Some motorist adopt an attitude of, 'Its 40 so I'm doing 40 its 30 so I'm doing 30', when the conditions demand a much slower speed. Casing point when a village has a carnival and the there are children meandering everywhere and some bonehead drivers think its appropriate to travel to the signed speed limit when a much slower speed is called for. Appreciate the post but it is certainly not the worst I've seen.

    A friend of mine was "rounded up" from his pub by a guy offering cash to deliver ten new transit vans - cash in hand.
    No sat nav, follow my leader, through red lights, frightening roundabout entries etc to be sure they didn't get lost.
    On delivery four of the vans were damaged, one quite badly. If you see a convoy of identical vehicles, trafe plates or not, leave the road and go for a coffee!

    This is what angers most of us honest trade plate drivers. I see a lot of these convoys where there's a social hierarchy, and they strangely fear overtaking the lead driver, thus causing absolute "May-hem" in their wake. Obviously an independent whose got a couple of his mates from the pub to help him out, hence just the single set of plates. Click Cardel of Derby springs to mind. They like to send their drivers out with one plate, then sack them when they get caught! There's a quick buck to be made in this game, hence the prolific amateurism. Inevitably they soon get brought to a screeching halt by Bang, Crash, Accident... or BCA as they like to be known!

    • @railwayman100
      @railwayman100 Год назад +10

      Agree. I done a double check on how many vehicles can be driven under 1 pair of trade plates...result came back as only ONE vehicle per trade plate...fine for mis-use of trade plate...£5000....wander if the offending drivers have got overdrafts with there bank accounts.

    • @flipper2392

      Can you tell us if they're UK plates? Maybe the lead driver is the only one knows where they're going.

    • @Aspie_Geek_UK
      @Aspie_Geek_UK Год назад +5

      @flipper2392 Trade Plate E7735 belongs to BCA at Thurleigh Airfield just outside Bedford. I have used that plate myself a few years ago when I did a few jobs for them. They are a shyster Company and all their drivers are self employed and "negotiate" for the work (read that as lowest "bidder" wins the job). I left them in a very short time and went to drive for a much better company that was actually reputable!
      The way it works with BCA you have to have a driving licence for more than 3 years, have less than 6 points and be over 25 thats all the requirements. All 3 of those drivers would be BCA subbies and will have probably worked together before at some point. They definitely won't be "his mates from the pub helping him out". Also they won't have HGV licences and wont need them for those vehicles as the OP suggested. Those vans are well withing the 3500kg normal driving licence range. All 3 will have been issued with Trade Plates but probably forgot them, they only cover road fund licence anyway nothing else, but they should still be displayed front and rear. I agree these idiots need to at the very least lose their jobs (which they will if the OP sends this to BCA at Thurliegh). BCA won't report this to the police because its in their interests not to as they dont want the police sniffing around their drivers and business practices.

      Trade plates are only to cover Tax, not insurance; part of the registration process for new vehicles will include the first year's road tax, so it is reasonable to assume that these new, registered vehicles are in fact taxed, even if the DVLA database hasn't yet been updated.

    • @bdm-astroscorpion5025
      @bdm-astroscorpion5025 Год назад

      Not so. These vehicles are most likely to be going to a commercial bodyworks and as such do not need to be taxed to be moved on trade plates. The trade plate companies pay the tax for the use of the plates. It is most likely the two vehicles drivers have trade plates, but have been to idle to display them. The DVLA database will be updated when the new keeper receives the vehicles, taxed and ready for use. The new keeper receives the first V5 certificate (the Log Book).

    You say they are holding up the traffic, and yet they’re in a contra flow at 50 mph and seem to be keeping up the same speed as those in front. Also there’s nothing wrong in being in the fast lane ( which would be known as lane three by the way) if they are doing the speed for that lane, which again is 50. Yes they are goons for their driving style, but not everything you state is consistent or correct.

      That is how idiots in the UK drive. That is why multiple pile-ups happen. Cars nowadays are so safe that people do not recognise danger when it is right in front of their eyes.

    Too many idiots on the road today, I will be honest when I was a youngster I was a tosser on the road but I sat down one night and had a thought about what my actions could do to another quite a sobering experience tbh but since that day I have always driven to the best of my abilities yes I still make far and few between errors but I always apologise if I’m in the wrong and respect my fellow road user. I hate seeing idiots like this really grinds my gears but I try and keep plenty of space to avoid being caught up in their stupid behaviour.

      They are obviously brand new and not finished yet, trucks normally have truck beds or box bodies on the back, they are going to some fabrocators to be finished then registered when they have buyer sorted..
      the plates though, shouldn't have been made before the registration is complete, I guess companies know the plate numbers that DVLA gave them so.can print them early, but that's probs a breach in itself..

      Trade plates are not necessarily needed to cover the existing reg plates ( if any) as long as they are visible front & rear clearly. If you are still unsure try checking the legality of these trade plates & where they are ment to be. I MAYBE wrong on my positioning of them but, please don't take my word i am only going by my last checking of them ( quite some years ago) & things might have changed since. So please don't take my word for it. Do your own checking on it.

      Check the rules on DVLA is for displayed on front and back on vehicle so it can be clearly visible. It is for tax and insurance purposes not for registration use.

      The law states - How to display your trade plates
      When you display trade plates, you must:
      put them on both the front and back of the vehicle, or just the back for motorcycles
      make them visible and easily readable from a distance of 20 metres
      put them on the outside of the vehicle
      not cover the existing number plates, unless it’s a motorcycle

    The registration plates aren’t registered with the DVLA. Also if you’re driving a vehicle like this with no body on the back if you have to break hard as there is little weight on the back there is a danger that the vehicle was skip and hop and affect the breaking, and the stability of the vehicle

      Nobody pays road tax.
      Roads are paid for from general taxation.
