Black Friday Sale now live: www.clubreadydjschool.com/club-ready-dj-course/ I added so much new content and bonus material - I have been devoting so much love and energy to it these past few months, hopefully you like :)
I have been watching your videos for about a month now after getting my first controller ( NuMark Mixstream +) The content on your channel has been a HUGE help in giving me creative perspective on how to approach DJing!! Its inspired me so much that only after a month I have decide to post my practice sessions of live mixes to sort of document the process and progression of someone starting from Day 1 to hopefully one day someone who can call themselves a "Professional DJ" Your videos are a huge source of inspiration to beginner DJs like me and content like this is the glue that keeps communities like this together! Keep making top tier content! We really appreciate all you do for us!!
You're right of course. My experiences with Traktor have also been positive yet less people seem to gravitate towards them, but those that do are loyal. DJing's awesome no matter the gear IMO :)
Something's wrong with Native Instruments. I started off with Serato and had too many issues with the software, so I decided to move to Traktor. The first thing I bought was a Maschine 3 and it ended up being an $800 paper weight. There was an issue activating the software and should have been an easy fix. Unless something has changed recently, NI is impossible to contact. You just can't do it. All they have is automated tech support, and if that doesn't work, you're done. I'm leaving a lot of the details out to keep a short post, but I tried everything. Its just unbelievable that something like this can happen. They make really good products, so I don't know what the issue is. Either way, I went with Rekordbox. Haven't had a single issue with it. Its kind of sad because I still think Traktor may have been the better choice for me, and the type of music I play. Actually, if anyone can make use of my Maschine, let me know. Maybe it can be used for parts or something. I just don't want to ship outside the US because of the expense and headaches that go along with it.
Can't believe your at 104K subs now! I started tuning in when this channel started around 4 years ago... time flies! Although I'm very amateur and only DJ for friends parties and pre's for the bar/club, you taught me all the fundamentals and I wouldn't be the DJ I am today without you! You are an inspiration and I'm proud I learned from you. From Canada, maybe one day see you in Aussie for some lessons :D.
I learned a lot from your videos when I started out with a DDJ-400. While I always aspired to get a nice DJ club style equipment. I accidentally stumble upon controllerism with the Xone K2. Spend long time mapping it with all the FX and stems features to augment all the features that were missing on the DDJ controller, beside being a fully standalone usable (with the right license in RB for MIDI support). These days I can't imagine playing without it. I really should share this RB mapping: somehow I managed to cramp in more than 200 functions on that K2 controller.
I was a traktor user s4mk3,couldnt fault it,i was waiting for a new flagship controller to be released by native instruments but it never happened,so i jumped over to pioneer and got myself the flx10,im impressed
What do you think so far? I started with the s2mk3 and then got the s3mk3 for cheap money because I needed 4 Channels for DnB. Also considering for a month to get the flx10 since I feel stuck on the s3 and I hatte the switcheroo when playing in clubs.

My prime 4+ was delivered few days ago and i will buy your full course package. I do have solid experience with turntables but not really with controllers or modern DJ gear . Either way i will stick with Denon. As soon as i get where i want to be i will go full blast with Club equipment. I like your style and detailed explanations.🙃😉
It’s a shame the ‘club standard’ is almost impossible to change. Denon SC6000 are so much better than the CDJ3000, but small clubs won’t change their set ups, as most are just used to playing on pioneer. Only the top DJ’s get to make demands on what equipment they play on…
The reason the CDJ-3000 is considered better is not the set of features, but the feel of every button, jog and slider, the workflow and the supreme layout on the screen. If features matters, I can tell you that 2 features missing on all Denons are the yet so important CDJ mode and memory cues. I've had access to the new Denons many times but I still would rather spend my money on a pair of CDJ-3000's, just because they are amazing. But, because of the features in Engine, I did get myself a Numark Mixstream Pro, and for the money I paid, that little gem is also amazing, for the same reasons some people think Denon is the better choice.
Oliver Heldens is the only person I’ve seen play denon at a festival even laid back is not using them anymore which is a shame coz the gears superior in my opinion that’s why I got p4
I switched to Denon after 20 years because they're just fun to use. The CDJ3000s are boring and they're back in the box. To be fair, all you need in a club is a queue, play, pitch, and fader.
Awesome review, Andrew! I recently got the Prime 4+ and it’s everything I hoped it would be. As a bedroom/streaming DJ it’s perfect for my needs. Also, as a graduate of Andrew’s DJ course, I can’t recommend it enough! A++

I just picked up the Numark Mixtrack Platinum FX as my first controller last week and I'd highly recommend it for any other beginners looking for a slightly cheaper alternative to the DDJ-FLX 4. It has a surprising amount of features for the price and so far the first 90 hours learning with it have been a blast. The 4 deck controls are a bit limited by the 2 channel mixer but its still great for getting familiar with the basics.
Good choice! It was my first controller which I bought January last year. Such a good controller for a decent price. I even did all my club gigs with it, it just works perfectly.
I’ve the same controller and love it. You do need Serato DJ Pro to get the best out of it. I bought a license as a one off payment to avoid a subscription. The PitchNTime plug in is also worth getting.

Amazing job excellent review on all the gear, great graphics. Such a cool vibe you put out…been spinning a long minute over 40 years and I enjoyed your review to the very end. Thank you for what you do.
Great video! I've been looking into getting new gear for my own DJ setup and these recommendations were really helpful. Thanks for sharing! 😄 #bestdjgear2023 #djsoundequipment #musicalife

If it comes to really old school dj ing , as the djs that now beeing on festivals, then i would say, the denon sc 6000 M is the one, because pioneer had no player that appears vinyl so close as the 6000 m does.
I switched from Pioneer (after I got the DDJ 1000, the DDJ RZX and played several times on a NXS Setup) to Denon a Denon Setup and what should I say? the SC6000s beat up the CDjs in every way. More functions, equal (in my ears better) sound quality, extreme connectivity, technology open, great computing performance (like the "on the fly" track analytics or the ability für controlling complete Light-setups), the built in touch-fx. And the X1850 prime? like in transformers: IT IS A PRIME :). Great quality, great sound, great design and so on. Pioneer got now only one Advantage: they are longer in the clubs. but more and more are switching to denon (because of the price and functions) and I hope it will decrease the cocky prices of pioneer (which is way to high). And a big NO to "Denon is more for personal use". The devices can handle the environment also very well. *Mic drop* I'm out 🤟😎🤟
1000% Right on point! I liked the passive-aggressive criticism on Denon in the video. 😂 Yes Denom have bugs and build quality sucks sometimes in the stand-alones. But overall, when I DJ in clubs and have CDJs 3000 in front of me , I still make space for my Prime4 😎. You can't just have your entire library in the internal SSD on a Pioneer 🤣🤣🤣
Why is no one talking about Allen & Heath? I've played on private parties where the only mixer has been a Xone 92 with two cdj nexus 2000. Seems more common to play on xone up here in sweden at least.
I started out with the ddj flex 6 gt its been awesome so far and 4 channel with the big jog wheels plan to upgrade soon...the ddj flex 10 is looking good

Love that Opus, but i cant afford that lol. Recently played with standalone rx3, good sound and nice controls. But if had 10k to spend i be on Xone- 96 with cdjs i think. Ddj 800 + 1000 have good sound too, maybe i will end up with the Flx10 if i have saved up enough.

My favorite gear is the DDJ 1000 It has all the features like a cdj 2000 and djm 900 plus whats great is you can play tracks from Beatport link offline mode so that the tracks load onto the decks faster. I'm keen to try the flx 5 with is the next step up. I tried the Opus and what i don't like is how the effects are arranged in a dropdown menu which makes it slower to get to which effect you want compared to a the old school knob selector. I tried the Denon Prime and i don't like the sound of the effects. Not much impact there. Also the knobs are too thin. I love using the XDJ XZ as well.

I wouldn't plan on it. Every venue I know that has any major artists or touring acts has been all Pioneer. They are buying stuff that the majority of people will be using and are used to. If things ever shift towards Denon that will be a very slow transition and Denon would have to do something extremely significant to make themselves more of the standard.
I like the club set up, the controllers and mini stuff is too small for my hands (especially in a dark stage). I use the Pioneer V10 (for the four band eq), two CDJs (3K) and A DJS 1000 with a rmx 1000. There is just so much you can do on it, I feel like I always have a trick up my sleeve if I need it. It's expensive but you tend to make decent money DJing.

This a great video! Very informative and thorough. If we are talking about best DJ Gear, I think full size turntables and DJ mixers should have been included. For the showmanship, turntables are more attractive and certainly have a place within the DJ scope. I will probably never sell my Technics as those are what I started with. Gotta include the Pioneer S11 or S7. Then of course the Rane Twelves with the Seventy-Two is so fun to play on.

I think some of the transition to club from Denon is overblown -- DJ principles are the same, you would just need to do some extra prep and beatgrid your songs you actually want to put on your USB from Recordbox again. Realistically, how many songs are ppl showing up with on their USB drives? And autoanalysis is so good.
I want to upgrade my actual hercules inpulse 500. I have been using djuced and I would like to get used to serato dj pro or rekordbox. I also have a powerful laptop, therefore I am actually looking for a controller rather than an all-in-one to spare my wallet. Which one would you suggest to me ? (I need the balanced master output though)
Silly me learned I 4band eq. Now there is no going back. Only 2 mixer options for me. Djm v10 or Zone 96. Think im going V10 w/ 2 kontrol mk3 and 2 xdj 1000. I get to stick with traktor and still know pioneer.

The 800's a good little unit, if you can get it at a good price, go for it!! Otherwise I am in love with the REV-5, but at the end of the day, the essentials are the same :)
Yes, okay, but why can't I listen to the effects when I'm playing on most Pioneer setups? Like WTF, Traktor has no problems with it... Is there a way to listen in your headphones how the effects will sound for the crowd on a Pioneer deck/mixer?????????
Traktor S4mk3 and x1 mk3 are each better use of money than any product made by Denon. Hard to find a ‘best of 2023’ credible that ignores the new x1 mk 3 or how fhe S4 mk3 still compares favorably to all of your other favorite controllers

I did a thorough comparison when attempting to recreate a club setup I had used, which included 2 CDJ2000NX2 and a DJM900NX2. I was comparing it to a more cost-effective option with a pair of XDJ1000MK2 and DJM700. In the end, I opted for the XDJ-XZ because its jog wheels and sliders felt similar to those on the CDJs, whereas the MK2 ones felt cheap. I did numerous side-by-side comparisons in stores

Kind of jealous I had to fake knowing how to DJ and get a gig at a club to touch dj equipment for the first time. Now you can have it at home for a good price
Ordered the holy grail. Waiting times are absolute sh*t,.. So Pioneer MAY be a good option. There is NO WAY that those valued options are going to be delivered any time soon. Almost 6 months waiting on those prized CDJ3000's and A9
Having bought an XDJ XZ about 3 months ago..... After having been a vinyl DJ and traktor user since traktor came out..... Rekordbox SUCKS! The constant pitch shifting was just crazy. So I switched to Serato, what a world of difference....look I think I'll always be a Traktor fan boy.... But Serato is GOOD! Serato or Traktor.... Don't waste your time with anything else, except if you a VJ 😎

I really have to admit, I don't like the Denon gear. I have worked with different products, with the "CDJs", the controllers, the PRIME4... I don't like the design, the buttons feel cheap, build quality doesn't suit my expectations. Pioneer gear might be more expensive, but in build quality they are way better than Denon. Feature wise Denon might have some more, but do we really need al that fancy stuff? I don't know... I have not needed it while testing different Denon products tbh.

Except CDJ 3000's which have a plastic spindle supporting the Jog wheels and often fails. Add in that Rekord box is buggy and unreliable. Give me Mixxx any day
Just to make you aware Andrew. I got a Email (supposedly from you) saying to go on Telegram and that i’d one a MacBook and to pay for the delivery costs. Obviously a con, and they where saying I was talking to you. So I asked them to tell me what the last video you put out was. And they said “oh you obviously don’t want this prize” so if it happens to anyone else, just be aware. Love your channel mate. Much love from the UK. ♥️

I miss my 1200mk2's which I bought when I was 16 in 2002 but here's the big fat elephant in the room... I want to play new music and have access to all the good stuff. I still remember when vinyl was dying and I cross referenced tracks I could get digitally and on black discs for a year and the conclusion was obvious... Mate...unless you want to continue replaying bangers from 15 years ago... 1210's are as useful as 14" black and white TV. Sick of this argument. Yeah Technics are awesome, I've even considered buying 1200mk7's because they look SIIIICK but £1700 for a couple of paper weights... No thanks

👎👎 controller after controller! I wish a company would do a standalone fx hardware like the pioneer rmx or efx! The Rmx is way too expensive for what it does.

Such a kind and likable guy.

I’ve the same controller and love it. You do need Serato DJ Pro to get the best out of it. I bought a license as a one off payment to avoid a subscription. The PitchNTime plug in is also worth getting.
@@AlistairBeckett True, I also bought the Pro License 3 weeks after purchasing the controller. Totally worth it.
I am just getting hip to you. I love your enthusiasm for the art of DJing.👊🏾✌🏾🔥

I have the Pioneer XDJ-XZ and love it. But have now orderer 2 x CDJ 3000 and a 750 DJM mk2 mikser. The XZ will be my toy that i bring around 🙏
I fucking love your vibe and how you explain everything, huge fan of your channel, keep it up ma men!

Amazing job excellent review on all the gear, great graphics. Such a cool vibe you put out…been spinning a long minute over 40 years and I enjoyed your review to the very end. Thank you for what you do.
Much appreciated!
I think I am going to sign up for your course tmo when I get paid
Thank you for your content
Great video! I've been looking into getting new gear for my own DJ setup and these recommendations were really helpful. Thanks for sharing! 😄 #bestdjgear2023 #djsoundequipment #musicalife

Great video. Love to watch. Useful info
*Mic drop*
I'm out 🤟😎🤟
👏👏👏👏👏
1000% Right on point! I liked the passive-aggressive criticism on Denon in the video. 😂
Yes Denom have bugs and build quality sucks sometimes in the stand-alones.
But overall, when I DJ in clubs and have CDJs 3000 in front of me , I still make space for my Prime4 😎. You can't just have your entire library in the internal SSD on a Pioneer 🤣🤣🤣
What’s the best for scratching? And I don’t need 4 channels.

But if had 10k to spend i be on
Xone- 96 with cdjs i think. Ddj 800 + 1000 have good sound too, maybe i will end up with the Flx10 if i have saved up enough.

i like it...verry much...*heart emoji :)

I love my RX3
me too
Hopefully denon gets more played in clubs
I wouldn't plan on it. Every venue I know that has any major artists or touring acts has been all Pioneer. They are buying stuff that the majority of people will be using and are used to. If things ever shift towards Denon that will be a very slow transition and Denon would have to do something extremely significant to make themselves more of the standard.
Here in the UK there are quite a few big clubs with Denon kit. Even Ministry of Sound.

Top Bloke & honest ✅
This is awesome to hear, thank you
How does that work with WiFi? I imagine you still have to buy all the tracks some how?
blimey missed that news about serato
The Opus Quad looks tasty!
flx6 is it worth it ? considering the flx 10 is $1000 dollars more
Silly me learned I 4band eq. Now there is no going back. Only 2 mixer options for me. Djm v10 or Zone 96. Think im going V10 w/ 2 kontrol mk3 and 2 xdj 1000. I get to stick with traktor and still know pioneer.

what do u think of buying DDJ 800 in 2023 as I need the closest to club gear! (I'm gonna upgrade DDJ-RB by the way)
The 800's a good little unit, if you can get it at a good price, go for it!! Otherwise I am in love with the REV-5, but at the end of the day, the essentials are the same :)
i love Virtual Dj software.
Hard to find a ‘best of 2023’ credible that ignores the new x1 mk 3 or how fhe S4 mk3 still compares favorably to all of your other favorite controllers

what do you think about the xdj 1000mk2s?
I did a thorough comparison when attempting to recreate a club setup I had used, which included 2 CDJ2000NX2 and a DJM900NX2. I was comparing it to a more cost-effective option with a pair of XDJ1000MK2 and DJM700. In the end, I opted for the XDJ-XZ because its jog wheels and sliders felt similar to those on the CDJs, whereas the MK2 ones felt cheap. I did numerous side-by-side comparisons in stores
@@HongStarr How is screen size though? I really wish there was an XZ2 with the 10" screen
I come from vinyl, so any screen is a bonus
@@HongStarr haha fair
Best beginner DJ gear advice: stop worrying about the gear and put in the time and love. The gear is secondary to everything else.

Denon all the way for me
Kind of jealous I had to fake knowing how to DJ and get a gig at a club to touch dj equipment for the first time. Now you can have it at home for a good price
Ordered the holy grail. Waiting times are absolute sh*t,.. So Pioneer MAY be a good option. There is NO WAY that those valued options are going to be delivered any time soon. Almost 6 months waiting on those prized CDJ3000's and A9
woo hoo!!
how do you deal with natural drummers whos bpm drifts (older tracks that haven't been regidded) ?
You have to manually set the beatgrid, then use quantize to force the BPM to stay at a specific tempo.
Thanks for help@@AT-wl9yq
I have virtual DJ 8 software
There is no better vinyl stand alone than the sc 6000 m
Build like a tank.
Denon are way forwards to pioneer
Having bought an XDJ XZ about 3 months ago..... After having been a vinyl DJ and traktor user since traktor came out.....
Rekordbox SUCKS!
The constant pitch shifting was just crazy.
So I switched to Serato, what a world of difference....look I think I'll always be a Traktor fan boy.... But Serato is GOOD!
Serato or Traktor.... Don't waste your time with anything else, except if you a VJ 😎

I'd say go with Virtual DJ. It can be made to work with anything midi. It's hella deep and you pay once and own it forever.

I have not needed it while testing different Denon products tbh.
how to work with a remix deck on s4 mk1?????

There’s somin better than all that hi tech controller stuff,,,,,, a pair of 1210’s n a mixer.
My first live DJ gig was way back in 1982…man oh man…how things have changed…
No thanks

*DDJ-1000 or die*
And Rane you forgot it ??
The rane 4 was mentioned and recommended.
👎👎 controller after controller! I wish a company would do a standalone fx hardware like the pioneer rmx or efx! The Rmx is way too expensive for what it does.
