This is one of the better reviews I've seen on the FLX10. Really nicely done. I'm one of those guys who sold my DDJ 1000 to help offset the cost to upgrade to the FLX10 and am just loving the new kit! Great review! Thank you!
@@PassionateDJ I use it mostly with Rekordbox (I'm a big fan of RB and have been using it for years), but sometimes I use Serato simply because the STEMS separation is so much better.
I do agree as far as the track separation feature, Rekordbox is behind but not for long. I feel with a few adjustments will be as good as the other software that has the feature if not better. The one thing Rekordbox did is allow the track separation to be available for their other controllers. I have it for my DDJ 800. I do hope that Pioneer comes out with a 2 channel version of the FLX10. That will be cool.
What you recommend with regards to the Flx 10 vs a denon 4 prime plus for a dj who is upgrading from a beginner 2 channel controller. Gread videos by the way !!!
Since the merge with serato & pioneer changed my mind about getting the ddjflx10. I will get one now i use to have the ddj1000. I know both serato and rekordbox.
i'm pretty happy with the 1000, having mapped stem toggles on it, but i'll have to admit the FX section on the FLX10 is enticing. won't be buying it now, but i will upgrade in the farther future. might try Part ISO a little more with the 1000, i think it is underrated but a little trickier to get clean transitions without the EQ's. planning to use the filters to help clean it up
Is the layout intuitive for virtual dj? I’d like to see a small review of it with VDJ as there isn’t one yet. Do the screens work the same? Is serato very intuitive apart from mislabelling pads? I really want to get familiar with pioneer gear for obvious reasons but their stems are unusable at the moment and their beatgridding is poor.
In 2017 I purchased a numark NV controller I kept in the box for about 2 weeks because I was used to the 2 turntables mixer, mic.i finally opened it download serato and I got into it,but now the technology has added more so im.gonna graduate to the flex10 expensive yes but I feel I can do more with this controller than the other
I'm a Wedding Dj, im actually thinking about take this flx10 or the rane four. About 5 years I'm a rekordbox player because my ddj rx support only rekordbox but I'm on valuation to change on serato, I'd appreciate it in the past. I don't know what's the best choice for me, i use a lot stems and loops basically
awesome review , I ordered the unit couple of weeks back and are really looking forward to start working with it. I mainly have DJ'ed on 1210's and dipped my toes with Pioneer DDJ400 / Rekordbox and was looking to upgrade tot he DDJ1000 and then the FLX10 dropped , win win in my view. I am sure STEMS will get better in RB and the DMX is a cool feature
Hi, can FLX 10 (or DJ controllers in general) be tilted and used? Will to jogwheels go out of balance? If they can be used tilted, what's the tilt limit? Tilting could save some space on my desk.
I bought this controller but when I hook it up the sound continually comes out with an echo. When I hook up the computer directly to the speaker there is no echo. I'm running it with Serato. Serato straight to speaker also no echo. The Beat FX screen has 'Auto 120' continually flashing. Not sure if this is causing it. Does anyone know why this might be happening? I have the FX turned off.
I just got my FLX 10. I cannot figure it out how to adjust the cross fader curve. Do you know how to do it ? From flx 10 software there is no option. Please help. Thank you
Great controller, but lack one best important thing. Suggest to Alpha Tetha to add digital sampler pad to the FLX10 at the microphone section, and will be the number one best controller in world
Great review, just ignore the idiot in the room….I’m still thinking about upgrading from the DDJ1000 but as VDJ have now mapped this and it’s my go to software I’m learning more towards the FLX10.
I wish I had more time to talk about VDJ integration, but they announced it right as I was about to hit “publish” 😅 so I crammed in what I could. Thanks for watching!
After 1200's, I went to the SX, then the SX2, and now the FLX10. Having no experience with CDJ+DJM style rigs, it's been a bit of a learning curve. Overall, I like it. I have a license to VDJ Pro, but only use Serato for several years now. Debated on FLX10 vs Rane, but decided to stay with Pioneer. Good review of the controller. I just subscribed to your channel. 🙂
Why is Pioneer nickel-and-diming us. It's proven that they can make a motorized platter with a center display. They did that with the Rev-7. Why are they holding back from giving us what we want in these pushed out controllers. They will go a step backwards before they give us what we want! Same for Rane 4!
Thanks for watching, Alex. Well, not everyone wants motorized platters - and if they do, there’s the REV7. This thing would be quite heavy and cumbersome with motors and metal platters, plus it adds mechanical complication (literal moving parts). And you’d have pay quite a bit more for it. To me, a better solution is a revision of the REV-7 with support for track separation :)
@PassionateDJ yes track separation, onboard stems and motorized platters is what I'm looking for on a controller plus center display screens similar to the Rev-7
The FLX10 isn't even the second best controller over $1000. Only Pioneer fan boys and fan girls who are also idiots would think it is better than the Rane Four.
Just like Senato fanboys and fangirls would think the Rane Four is better. There are 2 sides to a coin my friend. Having a preferred use of DJ gear doesn't make one a fan boy or fan girl. Remember what company still has the DJ gear for clubs, festivals, and venues and it is not Rane!!
Stems do not work. The song info shows up in the platter about 10% of the time. The tempo meter has a mind of its own. You move it and the tempo is delayed considerably. Songs cut in and out. It’s difficult to set the cue points, etc etc.
If you make it far enough in the video, you'll see I clearly spend plenty of time talking about Virtual DJ. But you've been making it clear you're just here to troll, so why would you do that?
@@PassionateDJ you showed the waves VDJ. Where is the work with the controller and the vdj, where is the scratch, where is the comparison of the sound of the scratch on the controller

Thanks so much for watching and commenting. This would be a hell of an upgrade for a DDJ-400! 🔥
Great review thanks! Bought this today at the dj hookup!
@PassionateDJ This or the Rane 4?
FLX10 is so dope. It’s my goto controller now for events.
Also! You can individually midi map each pad mode. Absolutely huge and not many controllers can do that
Nice! Are you still on Serato, or are you using it with Rekordbox?

The jogs only change the color when you are using rekordbox?
Thanks for the great review. Do you think the jog wheels feel more like a CDJ2000nxs2 or a CDJ 3000?

Hey, thanks so much!
What's been the sticking point for you, over the SX2? The difference in how the FX work?
So you mention a feature but then don’t demo it, like part instant doubles. Weird.
The whole isolation doesn’t sound right on all of them. Stems sound really bad 😞
The rev7 was a dust and fingerprint magnet, too, really irritating.
