This is amazing stuff. Gives you the feel of having a lighting engineer in something you can easily control and customise yourself. Really impressive how far mobile gear has come along in the past few years and the fact this is as simple as one cable is really convenient.
I’m currently morphing from underground DJ hero known for mashups to middle-aged mobile DJ and looking to upgrade from my NVII…this thing is like a gift from the gods rn🤩 Thanks for sealing the deal with this vid, looking forward to the deep dive 🙌 🤘👽
I've been in the RB-DMX1 community for a while, but this is the best thing that happened the last years. More people are going to use RB Lighting with the FLX10. So the Rekordbox Team have to invest more work into the lighting mode. 🤙
Exactly - as I said near the end, the most interesting thing now is that with the RB-DMX1 actually discontinued, this is the ONLY way of using the whole Rekordbox Lighting feature - you have to assume it is the start of a new page in the chapter of all of this for Pioneer DJ.
Wow.....things are progressing nicely for the mobile dj. I always look to make things more simple and streamlined. Carrying less gear, having less software to configure, and most importantly, less setup and tear down time is so nice. The Gigbar was a game changer due to it's simplicity, for me. This makes it even more convenient! (I've used the included pedal, freestyler, and soundswitch, but this seems pretty to be a quick solution). thanks for the demo! cheers
I’ve always found using an external programme and a DMX bridge is so much easier, and I still will use this, even after ordering the FLX-10. I think it’s a nice feature for beginner mobile DJ’s or those who don’t need too much control over lights, but with a few hot keys and a DMX bridge, you can use lightkey on Mac and get full control of all your fixtures. Truly an amazing programme.
Good point - but anything that gives beginners a gateway into lighting is great, we think - most people never get that far (or use the dreaded sound-to-light!)
Hi Phill, greetings from Sri Lanka... Iv been following your videos for a long time now and you put in to perspetive what iv been doing for the last 30 odd years... THANK YOU...
As usual excellent job Phil. You know how to simplify complex stuff! One question, in this video you connected only one light fixture. Is there a way to add multiple light fixtures? Say for example a gig bar and several uplights and/or additional moving heads. Can the additional DMX light fixtures work wirelessly?
thanks for the info. When I tick the box it just means I have to hold in a hot cue button to keep it playing and when I let go the song stops. What I’m interested in is when I play a track to a certain point and press pause I want it to stutter like a cdj does so I can use the jog wheel to get exactly my cue point.
Awesome video Phil, can I use a wireless transmitter to the first light? Then use dmx cable to next lights? Or will it only use dmx cord. You rock sir. Thank you. Big fan of you guys!
Do me a favor please I’m trying to use dmx lighting mode in my flx10 but the program doesn’t recognize the beam 275 moving headlights 😢I don’t know which one of the fixtures I have to take , thanks
It's amazing how the times have changed, this is pretty cool so seeing how the lights go to a sing but how do they work while your mixing? Like would you have to change the manually, do you have to pre program them or will they go automatically on their own while you're mixing?
Good morning and congratulations for the video, I'm using a translator who doesn't speak English. I would like to know how to configure the lights on the LSX10 via the manual where the channels and everything else are listed but not knowing the brand of the lights Thank you and good day

The DMX port is convenient! But Rekordbox Lighting is still lacluster compared to SoundSwitch. And I miss a standalone solution without laptop, maybe in future? Btw great video Phil. Would love to see more LJ related content on your channel!
Thanks for sharing! Yes, this is by Pioneer DJ's own admission not an all-singing, all-dancing solution - more for dabblers and "one-person bands" at this stage. We did think it was cool though!

Great video! Can the pad mode mapping be used with an XP2, potentially allowing another person to control lights? Also, on a slightly different subject: does the flx-10 usb C connections charge/power the laptop? ❤
Curious, what if you can't find your lights listed. For example I have 2 wall wash light bars from Amazon. Pretty cool but it's a cheap Chinese brand. How would that work with the ddj-flex10?

If that is the case, it might be finally possible to use Sxratch Visualizer on a controller (without DVS, dont know if other controllers can do that as well). With a Serato/Rekordbox timecode signal on channel 3 + the scratch sound on channel 1. Cannot wait to give it a try on my own!
@Digital DJ Tips - thanks for replying, I think the VDJ scouts will have watched your video, and are now on the case. Brilliant bit of thinking by Rekordbox
Amazing demo! Makes me really interested in the FLX10.
