Thanks for another great video. Sorry to pile on, but I laughed out loud at “23 degrees and we're cookin'.” My recent cross-country tour in the US saw afternoon temps in the low 40s all across Kansas, Colorado, and California. I made a note of the hotel in hopes I can stay there during our Scotland tour upcoming. Thanks again.
😂 for us 23 degrees is cooking! I know it can get very hot in the States - on my Pan American trip it was regularly over 100 Fahrenheit 🥵 - in Phoenix they said , “ Rehydrate or die!” 😀
I love your commentary and bits of local history and color. It makes the trip very interesting. It's strange how you think that mid 20's is hot. Here in Georgia USA, it's not hot until over 30.
Just got back from our Scotland trip. We mostly stayed East and Northeast as it was lashing down to the West. Got a nice bottle of Single malt in John o Groats. Rode up Cairngorm Mountain one day, fabulous views from the top. Looks like you had the best weather.
Brian and Sue, Enjoying your videos thank you very much for all the effort you are both putting into it, must take quite a bit of time. A tip for motorcycle touring, especially in the heat you found in Scotland this time, I highly recommend a water bladder so that you can sip small amounts regularly and keep hydrated. There's been a bit of research about the value of hydration whilst riding, all positive. Kriega do a superb lightweight backpack which can contain the bladder they supply, or Mountain Warehouse and Trespass both offer their own bladder and backpack. I'm sure there are loads available elsewhere. If you have a fridge in your BnB or Hotel bedroom you can fill it at night and pop it in the fridge. Occasionally I will also put the bladder in the tank bag. If you are riding 2-up you can share one between you. And if the heat gets really hot, then you can fill with ice cold water and tuck it inside your riding jacket to cool you down. Many thanks and keep up the excellent work. Ride safe. Stuart
Thanks again for watching Stuart! I did use an hydration system when I did The Pan American Highway - it was a real life saver 👍 😀 thanks very much for your feedback!
Love these videos - they are very well done. I, too, was struck by the temperatures you consider hot. I have seen the same thing in the photographers from the UK I follow on RUclips. When you said it was 20 and hot, I did a conversion and found that 20C was equivalent to 68F. 68 would be considered pleasantly cool anywhere in the US. The only time it might be considered warm would be if it were mid-January in Fargo, North Dakota. Again, love the videos and your travels and seeing how Sue has evolved as a rider.
Thanks very much Richard! Here in the UK the weather is always a topic of conversation 😂 anything over 20 degrees and we celebrate! 🥵 thanks for watching and commenting it’s good to have your support! 😀👍
Great videos .. did the same route August Bank holiday last year .. blazing hot weather, and watching your videos have definitely brought back some good memories.. thank you both for sharing
Thanks Phillip! It has to be one of the best tours we’ve ever done- the scenery is stunning and if you’re lucky with the weather there’s no place better! 😀👍
Great memories, my wife and I did the NC500 in 2017 on Harley's, wer'e on BMW's now and plan to do it again. Your video editing is superb, really enjoying watching them.
Dave Silsbury Thanks very much for your comments Dave we really appreciate it! We loved the NC500 - some of the best riding we’ve ever done 😀👍 it must have been something on Harleys- what BMWs are you riding now?
@@midlifemotorcyclediaries Hi Guys, Sandra rides a 2015 R1200R and I ride a 1250 GSA both fabulous bikes, watching your video's reminds me so much of our adventures, we have done route 66, last year we met friends in the czech republic via the Stelvio and San Boldo. We try to stick to 4ish hours riding and love a beer and explore in the evenings. Keep the video's coming guys...
Would always recommend speaking to Judith Fish in advance (Applecross Inn) and see if you can stay there. The fish in the restaurant of an evening is superb and worth the stop over. A;lso Kishorn Seafood Bar - I always try and schedule my trip to arrive there hungry - the cold counter itself is worth a photograph and all local stuff too - delicious and fresh. Highly recommended. Cheers and thanks again, Stuart
Have to say I concur with Dave, though I have never ridden a Harley, but done all of Scotland and most of Europe except Spain, never been ! that's how I started to watch your channel. If you like Scotland you will have to try here in N.I. Must ask you are you sure Scotland has the largest fresh water lake/ lough/ loch, I think we have it here in Lough Neagh after all Finn Ma Cool " Fionn mac Cumhaill" scooped it out a threw it into the Irish sea which you know as the Isle Of Man. Really love the videos keep them coming I love the way you narrate rather than shouting through the helmet mic. Merry XmasRobert & Carolyn
RMG Thanks Robert and Carolyn for your comments! I believe Scotland does have the biggest freshwater lake (I think) but we definitely want to ride in Ireland- maybe do the Wild Atlantic Way? We really appreciate you watching and supporting our channel! Have a great Christmas! 👍😀🎄
What time of year did you guys go? Sorry if I missed you say. Apart from great weather it doesn’t look too busy! 😁 I went in April and only had one day of light rain which was a result! 👍
You need to set your frame rate higher for your panoramic shots only trying to help you I'm not complaining still like the videos keep doing what you are doing
Del Williams Sue loves the Tiger! It took a bit of getting used to after the 700 GS but now she says it was the best decision to change. Thanks for your support and comments! 👍
Epic views and amazing food what more can you ask for. Lovely drone footage. You travel so we don't have to! X stay safe out there
Sue Taylor Thanks Sue! You’re right - epic views and great food it was! Thanks for your comments as always! 👍😀x
Great video again. I hope to get over there next year to ride them amazing roads.👍✌️
Thanks - hope you get a chance to ride them again 🤞😀

Have to add that here in Australia we go into the 40’s !! Not fun riding a motorcycle in traffic..

Adrian Nicholson we were so lucky with the weather! But I bet you still had a great trip? We really enjoyed the Cairngorms- beautiful countryside 👍

@@midlifemotorcyclediaries Thanks for letting me know. It seems April, May and June is a good time to go. I’ve heard about those midges! 🤣👍

Thank you 🙏 we were there in May - best time to avoid the midges! 😀👍🦟
Hi there, been watching you NC 500 trip... what time of year did you do this trip, can't see that information anywhere.
We did it in April 2019 Garry! 👍😀
