- The Porsche Macan is one of Porsche's best selling vehicles, the first version of the Macan releasing in 2014 was seen as a smaller and more practical alternative to their Cayenne. It has been through a lot of improvements ever since and now Porsche is going to produce an electric version.
The Porsche Macan EV will surely be a big game changer in the EV market, since the success of the Porsche Taycan, Porsche has really made a name for itself in the electrifying world.
Porsche has pulled out all of it's resources to make this new EV an international bestseller.
If the Macan EV is as good as Porsche makes it seem it could definitely form a threat to other EV focussed car manufacturers such as Tesla.

A 20k price increase is alarming.
I think Porsche is making a huge mistake by not putting out a Macan PHEV (like its Cayenne and Panamera PHEVs).
it should be very easy transition, no? i think there was an article about this as well back in June 2023, but wasn't sure about the legitimacy of that article back then bc Porsche clearly mentioned that they are going EV only. well, now the market has changed and even PHEV is not providing enough appitites over Toyota hybrids :( so sad all manufacturers made horrible decisions on their future. EV isn't the future, at least for a while.
PHEV was a transition period. Moving on to pure EV now.
Porsche is making a big mistake by not building hybrid version. There are people who do not want to drive a full electric car yet. With the current infrastructure problems of energy grids accross Europe. @@christianolsen9781

Good information but when you are talking about the EV please do not show the old exterior and interior of the existing Macan. It spoils your credibility even though the information is correct.

From what I saw, there was a lot of comparing with the ice version. Therefore, there will need to be a lot of footage showing us the ice so we can quickly see the differences rather than relying on trying to remember what it looked like. It was warranted.

If Porsche doesn't hurry up and come out with the Macan EV it is going to get lapped by other EV's such as Hyundai's latest Ioniq 5 N. It would be a BIG disappointment if the Macan doesn't outperform the Ioniq 5 N, the Kia EV6 GT or the Lucid Gravity EV's.
They were indeed pretty late with the introduction of a crossover EV, they definitely lost a lot of customers that were waiting for the car in the meantime. ^TJ
Hardly the same target market
I believe the Polestar 4 will be a better choice in the EV space. I’ve a P2 and plan to upgrade to the P4 when available. As an X Porsche owner, I was considering getting the Macan.

Having owned a P2, I can only conclude that Porsche and Polestar play in very different leagues. The P4 won’t have rear wheel steering nor air suspension, and is not a SUV.
I would take tesla over polestar. But polestar is still amazing
As the owner of several Porsche’s the decision to use VW software and not using the NACS charging standard is a hard no for me… We just bought a Model Y Performance and it is faster than my 911…and the price was WAY less also…

Tesla is a good middle class car but Porsche is something much more better.

Thank you for your comment. The current internal combustion engine model of the Porsche Macan shares its platform with the Audi Q5. The new Macan EV gets a new platform that could also be used by other models from the Volkswagen Auto group. ^AJ

The software is a vomit fest vanilla Android Auto that looks as appealing as Windows CE. It was rushed out because VW’s PPE software still isn’t ready. Audi is delaying the Q6 etron for that reason. Hard pass.

An increase of 20,000 you better buy the gas model first let this set for two or three years before considering it get the bugs out of it and then your gasser is gonna be worth a lot of money

Unfortunately, it's lacking range. Next. Battery degradation in short period of time it will eventually bring the range down to 290.
Since the poster is named “Electrified Automotive” one can expect nothing but spin. And spin it is. EVs are hugely oversold and we are being gaslighted. When you do all the math..emissions from producing the battery, emissions to charge, emissions from roadway repairs caused by excessive weight of EVs, we can all learn that they won’t save the planet. They are unsuitable for long drives. They are unsuitable for cold weather. In short a fraud. Even worse when it’s a Porsche. Porsches are cars with a soul. Driver involvement is a hallmark. An EV is an appliance.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts sir, I do think you have some good points there. As a channel we focus on the electrification of the automotive industry because of the new and exciting technology introduced in the industry. The electrification movement is something we simply cannot stop and we’ll have to try to make the best of that move by focusing on the positives sides of it. As a channel we are solely focusing on the introduction of new car brands, models by existing brands, technology etc. not on the politics moving the industry in the direction it is currently headed. ^TJ

Ev crap....hybrid is better. Look how much the Taycans have lost value this will be the same. At least make a hybrid version Porsche, you've made a mistake here, it's a no from me...
