When the GTD debuted I was in the “it’s too much for a mustang” crowd, 300k is well into the big boys club where you get into the ultra-exclusive cars. Then I started to really think about the overall picture. People pay over 300k for a GT2RS or GT3RS and no one says, “you played 300k for a 911 Carrera?!” what is an RS level 911, it is a heavily modified base 911 with very high-performance racing parts, a ton of R&D, and very low production numbers, this is the same receipt. While Porsche has a very impressive and lengthy racing pedigree, Ford has repeatedly shown us when they are willing to cut a blank check and burn a river of midnight oil, there isn’t really much they can’t do. If I remember correctly an Italian racing company laughed in their face years ago and got the surprise of their lives. Is this car going to be too much race car for the road, that remains to be seen as there is still a lot to learn since Ford has released very few details. Heck, we don’t even know what the inside looks like yet. I am hoping that this street legal race car has the amenities you would expect in a road car, yes, I hope they study the best ultra track focused road cars and soften the edge just enough to make the car enjoyable on the street. I hope that they can either bring it closer to 250K or make some of the supposed options, titanium exhaust, active aero, magnesium wheels, as standard equipment. No doubt that part of the price is exclusivity as this will not only be a very limited run given to a chosen few, but this may very well be the highest performance road legal ICE “Mustang” ever. I’m sure other brand loyalists will always dismiss this car as a “mustang” no matter how many records it beats or how capable it is but in reality, the GTD shares almost nothing with the mustang you buy from your local Ford dealer other than the name. I miss when people use their brains, acting like companies haven't been making high end expensive cars for decades now, and not to mention cars in the past were priced way above their actual value considering they wouldn't be able to perform like modern day cars do. But heck, even if they just get pretty close, I'd say that's impressive, especially if it's at a price point that's a little bit lower.
Tires. Nothing magical to run 6.40
They are running r compounds
The GTD is using the same tire
Literally look up Cup2R tires
@@WindyCity1992 You can't run a 6:40 without damn good tires. But the tires don't automatically make you run a 6:40 either. There IS something magical mixed into the equation.
@stevefowler2112 - Ford never said they will SET the record, just that they were using sub 7 second lap as a goal!
it's a multimatic, a race car company. they work on european hypercars as well.
Do you know if the mustang GTD will be at the Detroit auto show ?
This car looks like something you'd see in an anime cartoon.. but it's real
5:22 Yeah let's see how that smoke does when you hold the wand lower...
Didn't realize you had a graduate degree in aero space technology sport!
To the rest of us who can't afford this car.. , let's just appreciate the car and stop being jealous!
Be a AWSOME first mustang
They must remember that manufacturers championship has requirements ,and they are racing it ,let's do the nurb, but we got foxbodies waiting to reach the sky ,upgrading to keep up with new stangs
I do think 300k is too much for a mustang, however this is no mustang. This is the ultimate track car purpose built by the ultimate American car manufacturer. And 300k for the amount of engineering in that beast is well worth it
About as fast as a c8 z06. 400k is an absolute rip off. 😂
@@jameshadad8569 Doubt it! Try putting one of those plastic C8 Z06s out on a road course with this beast and watch how quickly it gets hammered! Details at 11:00. LOL
@@jameshadad8569 - How did it magically get to $400K??
@@Loulovesspeed people are gonna want to pay over sticker. That’s what anyone who would buy this thing will be happy to do.
@@jameshadad8569 - Nope, aint gonna happen! First off, you don't just waltz into a Ford dealer and order one, like a standard car purchase. This will be price controlled by Ford and you must complete an application for the intent to purchase one. You then will be either accepted or rejected. My guess is you'll be rejected! It's the same purchase procedure as the last Ford GT.
excellent video sir!
Good Information as always..
You left out the most important step.....Win the freaking lottery!!!
Great video!
I can hardly wait to see the Mustang GTD run the Nürburgring.
Planted like a Connecticut Oak.
I like everything about it except the WING and the PRICE!
They can help you on the wing - it's optional, but the price is the price!
Will it have a roll cage for non US cars ?
I think it's funny that you even said "fuel economy" 🤣🤣🤣
Does a parachute come with this car
It probably needs one!
Already called my dealer who sold me my GT500 for an allocation! 🤞🏻
You wasted your time but I'm sure the dealer has a MachE available for you 😂 Dealers don't get any allocations of these.
You didn't tell us how to sign up for the GTD.
Great summary but ya need to cut back on using the word "actually"😊
Well they'll sell st least 1 GTD. Jay ( Leno ) needs to park something next to his 2023 Demon 170 he picked up this week.
Exactly these are the folks who will get one. Ford is NOT going to let dealers have any, so stop drooling.
this car will be faster than a Demon 170 because of the much lighter carbon fiber body & rear weight transaxle
Leno is a Ford guy. No way he's not gonna get one of these.
Jay Leno is about one person who I would have no shade to throw at for buying one. He's a through and through car guy. I can respect that and he's got the money, so... naturally, he'll be on the list, and he worked for it. Some other people, not so much.
@@281cobracar7 That makes no sense??
You have to be in the club to get one and guess what you not in it lol
Like any of us watching, can order one...
Do we know if there gonna offer and XL version?
WTF is an XL version???
Will ford make a crate engine version of this GTD Mustang can buy the engine and drop it in my 2300 pound 2022 Mx-5
The car NO one can buy. KOOL FORD!!
How is this Mustang so good looking, but the new BMW M4 is so hideous 😭
Things change!
@@Loulovesspeed lol I guess
I guess I'll be staying with the sleeper.
the best mustang ever.
I will also trade my TRX and can I get an Orange & Green University of Miami Paint to match?
I would order it just like the one there like that but I know i can’t never afford one of them but you can dream
I wish Ford would put this much attention to detail, when building the everyday cars.. It would sure minimize their record setting RECALLS. 🤦🏻♂️
But they would be out of business as few could afford to buy them!
Hilarious how they do an Every Man’s RUclips Video for a $300K car! 😂 Man, this thing is pure fantasy.
SHOULD BE BUILT IN AMERICA 🇺🇸 😎
Who really cares WHERE it is built? That means nothing today with Hondas and Mercedes being built in the U.S.!
as an engineering specimen this promising to be an outstanding vehicle... just don't know if i'd go for it even if i had the means...
great!...A vehicle no one can order or afford plus it's a gas powered. Hopefully some of this coolness will make it's way into the production vehicles!
@silvermaxd - You sound like the perfect customer for a used Pinto!
I want two!!!!
NO
Rather have supersnake
Plenty of detail in the video that I have not seen elsewhere (really good on information)... but, you didn't actually say "How to order it " !!!!!!
Oh man, you gotta get the F-22 parts if you can get it! Lol. We’ll
Come see it.
Lockheed Martin's garbage is a ford owner's treasure
El mejor auto de la historia un potro salvaje en la gama de los súper deportivos
Can I trade my 2021 Bronco on it?
What is the GTD going to weigh?
Well, the GT500 weight is over 4100-lbs. So I'm just guessing the GTD will come in somewhere around 3700-lbs to 3800-lbs range. Ford hasn't said anything about it yet.
Hey, constructive criticism: don't talk about what you're going to talk about. Just talk about it.
WHY is he inside not shown?
Ford proving there’s levels to the game.
And the huge disparities between the levels of amount of money people have. Not really trying to knock it, but it's true.
@@RW-zh7kl- But that is quite understood, mate!
spoiler reminds me of the SVO spoiler
Can you imaging trying to buy insurance for this thing? You could buy a new car with just the insurance payments.
Now lets compare performance of this new GTD to the GT
When it is formally released!
How many time can you say the word crazy. Now that's crazy.
I can't wrap my brain cell around the $300,000 price tag ???
For 300k I want all wheel drive .....this thing will be like driving on ice with all that power
It has an almost 4" wider track and 12.8 " wide front tires and 13.58 " in the rear! The entire suspension system is custom made for this car only and is truly state of the art! AWD would make it too heavy!
It's just me not finding the spoiler attractive? Other than that this mustang looking great
It's an option.
The 2012 and 2013 Boss 302 Mustangs would rev to 7500 rpm.
The 2015 Shelby GT 350 flat plane crank would rev to over 8,000 rpm!
Ford KILLED IT with this BEAST! 💥💥
Now, I want to talk about the fact that it’s highly annoying when somebody prefaces everything they say in this manner, but we’ll talk more about that later. 🙄
It’s no wonder the GTD starts @ $300K when you consider the amount of R&D that went into it’s design, testing, quality of cutting edge components and manufacture.
Edit : I seriously need one. 🤤
FYI - It's up to $325,000 now!
@@Loulovesspeed Worth every cent!

It may have come out of nowhere, but it has been formulating for several years!
But.....does it have AC?
What does it weigh?
Mustang is not exclusive car, its for everyday person
NOT THIS MUSTANG!!! It is very much exclusive @$325,000 and NOT FOR everyday person!!
I missed the days when car companies were actually interested in selling cars to as many people as possible, yeah this car is badass, and yes i want one very badly, but its a supercar, and that means nothing to me, im not some rich A-hole with more money than sense and if I did have that kind of fundage would I buy this, no probably not because the Ford of the 21st century is one that is bad at engineering and production and i wouldn't risk it especially when there are so many other brands on this level that actually can and do build extreme performance hogh end cars....just my opinion.
I miss when people use their brains, acting like companies haven't been making high end expensive cars for decades now, and not to mention cars in the past were priced way above their actual value considering they wouldn't be able to perform like modern day cars do. Ford produces Mustangs for the masses, they don't have to suck you off specifically and give you a special supercar just because you want one, you don't need it or even worked for it, you just want it for free ? You don't even understand half the things done to this car, and yet say something as ignorant as "the Ford of the 21st century is one that is bad at engineering and production and i wouldn't risk it especially when there are so many other brands on this level that actually can and do build extreme performance high end cars" while literally ignoring how bad their cars were not so long ago in terms of reliability and being able to be used daily.
All this high tech talk that another manufacturer used three decades ago, dry sump engine, more weight over driven wheels, a rear transaxle, etc. LOL
You said any color, does that include the mystic chrome Ford is hording?
Most likely
By the time this car hits the market it’ll Be at Barrett, Jackson, Scottsdale, January 2024 for over $1 million thanks Barrett Jackson for destroying the classic car car market
I like my C5 Corvette convertible. But it's not a track car. Better looking and cost less.
Can you post a video showing how I pay for it?
@alanjm1234 - First of all, you can't just walk into a Ford dealer and order one. You have to apply to get approval to purchase a GTD Mustang. Unless you have owned A Ford GT or Shelby GT500, you have little chance there.
Who the heck calls a Racing Series or Organization a League? Has the car guy never watched a car race? Really?
