Therefore, it is famous for using Dr. Slump's final boss, Dr. Masirito, and one of Dragon Ball's most evil villains, King Piccolo, as its motif. Contrary to the image mentioned above, he helped Yuji Horii create Dragon Quest by taking him to a game console and even introduced him to Toriyama. But I think what had the biggest impact on him was Super Sentai (probably Chikyu Sentai Fiveman as of that year), which he watched with his kids.

Édit : also, dq4 to 6 are on Android and they are really good 2d games, 5 is my favorite. 7 is also on the 3ds and is the longest of them all with à really long bittersweet story.
I'm not even a big Dragon Quest fan. And yet, I'm happy that the Heroes are playable. Dragon Quest is a series with a legacy we westerners couldn't even comprehend, and it more than deserves its spot on the Fighters Pass next to our bear and bird.

Square Enix and Sakurai won me over, I'm definitely moving from Pokémon to Dragon Quest. With DQ11 coming to Switch later this year, I'll be sure to get it later this year.
I loved both Pokemon and Dragon Quest Monsters as a kid (Dragon Warrior Monsters back then). It's a shame how Sword and Shield turned out but I'll continue to support the DQ series.

@geckodono 11 Is the best one to start, if you can't play it, then I would recommend 5 or 8, if you enjoy playing ancient games 1 and 3 are a good choice as well, but ultimately 11 is designed for people that have never played any dragon quest and for those that have played all of them as well

I remember listening to this on every episode recap from Dain no Daiboken back in the 90s... if it wasn't for that anime I proly wouldn't know Dragon Quest today
It's Dai them in the Anime it's such a fitting song for a Hero :) and I love it, in fact I never played a single Dragon Quest game, but I love all Sugiyama's work.
One of my favorite animes from the 90s. The anime stops abruptely, but you can just continue with the manga, which is one of the better (shounen) mangas i've read
Probably lol. Dai No Daibouken is awesome though. Watched a tad bit of the anime subtitled and read a lot of the manga scanlated but never got around to finishing it. I recall I got at least far as Dai meeting his biological father and learning his birth name. Lol so strange that in normal situations he sucks at magic and that he only naturally learned like one spell as of how far I've read, (iirc more specifically Bagi, aka Infernos aka Woosh). Despite that when he gets pissed off enough he can cast some powerful magic, even in the beginning. I wonder if he'll end up good with magic and have a good spell list even without his berserk casting kicking in
I also first listened to this tune with Dai no Daiboken. It was a great anime and a great manga. But loving those two and not playing any DQ game is a crime. The games are FAR better in almost all aspects.
I just love doing the hero’s down taunt when the slime appeared in front of them and they were fumbling in place I just find it so downlight hilarious and cute at the same time especially that facial expression they made when they got startled 😱

I don't care if there's a lot of songs in the series that does the same thing, this one right here just screams "Dragon Quest" the most to me.
I remember listening to this on every episode recap from Dain no Daiboken back in the 90s... if it wasn't for that anime I proly wouldn't know Dragon Quest today
Am I the only one that knows this song because of the anime "Dai no Daibouken"? Aka. "Dai's great adventure" Aka "Fly".
It's Dai them in the Anime it's such a fitting song for a Hero :) and I love it, in fact I never played a single Dragon Quest game, but I love all Sugiyama's work.

One of my favorite animes from the 90s. The anime stops abruptely, but you can just continue with the manga, which is one of the better (shounen) mangas i've read
Probably lol. Dai No Daibouken is awesome though. Watched a tad bit of the anime subtitled and read a lot of the manga scanlated but never got around to finishing it. I recall I got at least far as Dai meeting his biological father and learning his birth name. Lol so strange that in normal situations he sucks at magic and that he only naturally learned like one spell as of how far I've read, (iirc more specifically Bagi, aka Infernos aka Woosh). Despite that when he gets pissed off enough he can cast some powerful magic, even in the beginning. I wonder if he'll end up good with magic and have a good spell list even without his berserk casting kicking in
I also first listened to this tune with Dai no Daiboken. It was a great anime and a great manga. But loving those two and not playing any DQ game is a crime. The games are FAR better in almost all aspects.
This song can make anything seem epic.

I just love doing the hero’s down taunt when the slime appeared in front of them and they were fumbling in place I just find it so downlight hilarious and cute at the same time especially that facial expression they made when they got startled 😱
