10:50 i love that british cavalryman when he charges in is literally flopping around on his horse xD also geezus! some maps on napoleon are HUGEE!!! that's so cool!
+HeirofCarthage as a Brit yes the Coldstreamers were very much better than the old guard ;) my personal favourites are the 42nd foot and the 88th foot, excellent affordable elite infantry! would have been nice to see the Scots greys too! I miss Napoleon
+antred11 You're right. Napoleon, who was a former artillery man himself, centered a lot of his strategies around his field guns. A Napoleonic battle without artillery is like a hamburger without the meat -- you always know something important is missing.
Same, I hate that too but people don’t like the “over powered arty” especially howitzers. I say that if you can’t beat an opponent with artillery then you’re not a great general.
+Mike McDoge How have you guys even seen anything there - it's still at 144p YT quality and you can't see a damn thing ! You got real gruppies out there Heir because you have 30 likes before anyone could have really seen a video :P
This game is, I think, one of the prettiest Total war games. I don't now what it is, the way better volumetric and smoke effects as compared to Empire. The way the artillery shells would explode remains one of the best effects in a total war game. The huge smoke clouds that would form with sustained musket fire. The updated and more realistic formations and models. Just all in all a very detailed and yet stylistic game. Also one really interesting thing, it seems like on every one of these "one off" total wars (i.e. Napoleon, Atilla) they update the unit banners to a block above the unit, unlike an actual banner. I always liked that it presented the information more clearly.
Used to play Napoleon as HMG Djangokill Not played for ages though. I remember that Ligny was a particularly hard map to attack on. The best way to defend river crossing is to set up back from the crossing so your infantry hit the enemy troops as they enter the choke point. That way you can tie down multiple crossings with fewer troops and keep more in reserve. There's no real reason to conduct firefights across the river itself.
Interesting fact: pretty much up until WWI a melee engagement was like the last thing you wanted, you'd be more likely to stand point blank from the enemy and just keep firing muskets at eachother rather than charge them with bayonets
You ever try Mount & Blade: Napoleonic Warfare? It's 1st/3rd person multiplayer shooter in this era. It's a lot of fun when every bullet counts because of reload times (15 seconds or so after every shot).
I strongly recommend it! It adds dozens of new balanced units to all nations, lets you play as a number of smaller factions and among many other things allows for bigger unit sizes and optional 40 unit stacks per army which can make for some spectacular battles :D Also adds more immersive battlesounds! In any case, I'd really enjoy a NTW campaign, modded or not, if you find the time for it!
if i play Napoleon online it always is lag in game or Connection problems and i have good computer and internet, like the game start going in slow mo or somevone leaves it never is good for me
America kind of owes due to France for their help in the revolution :) I better not kid them too much. I always like poking fun and seeing if people will dish it back though.
swiss foot are actually just on par with the fusiliers of the line. their stats are all the same xcept they have a slightly better reload rate. polish legion however are far superior comparable to the kings german legion foot, having high accuracy, reload and defense
You know how you yanks have those dudes with sunglasses to watch the president? Well Coldstreams are (20% of) the dudes who guard the queen! And the first New Model Army unit.
+Connor Smith No, just no. I can't imagine how that would fit into the TW franchise. WW1, at least on the Western front, was little more than trench warfare; an endless series of massed human wave assaults and the inevitable counter attack. There was little room for tactical finesse.
Does anyone else think that CA should make a second Empire Total War? I want to do a campaign as America! Empire: Total War's campaign wasn't all that great.
I disagree when you say my militia and lights vs his foot guard was fool : that was just the idea !! I wanted to take his foot guards down, by sacrifying weak units (russian lights are bad). The whole idea was to flank my ennemy After watching it, i remembered it very well : it was a very easy battle, our enemies were just... bad. Jean Baptiste Bessiere as a good player had just to smash his weak opponent. CSA and crofarmer did well. I just had to take the town in front of me.
It is pretty fun. The small campaigns are quick and fun. Grand campaign is fun but would have been cooler with a full world map like Empire. Fun though.
What commander would waste his elite units in first line outgunned ? :) they are not tanks ofc, just killing power. what i meant with rule 2 is: overhelm or avoid, just do not mess with them...
Anyone wanna see line battles like this, but in stopmotion? If so, then check out my latest video, it's not the greatest, but if I get support for it then I know I can make it better.
FINALLY a Napoleon battle. Napoleon is always entertaining to watch.
I enjoy it. The naval battles are good too.
that guy on the horse at 10:57 lol
When you drink so much British tea and you're British.
10:50 i love that british cavalryman when he charges in is literally flopping around on his horse xD
also geezus! some maps on napoleon are HUGEE!!! that's so cool!
Lol I saw that
Jaime Castro it's like a rodeo xD
He's drunk on that British tea
Yaaay my first and favourite total war game. Also a fantastic era
It is a classic era great with Total War.
Yesssss an Napoleon battle!!
+CatnamedMittens “Michael Bialas” Yay for this it's been a while :)
Napoleon can have some epic battles
+HeirofCarthage as a Brit yes the Coldstreamers were very much better than the old guard ;) my personal favourites are the 42nd foot and the 88th foot, excellent affordable elite infantry! would have been nice to see the Scots greys too! I miss Napoleon
+HeirofCarthage Yeah, even the naval battles were fun. I enjoyed that one naval battle live stream you once done in NTW.
Ugh, I hate this silly no-arty rule. What's Napoleonic about a battle that doesn't include any artillery?
+megaivan997 It makes for a wonderful battle though, like the Battle of Many Frances
+antred11 You're right. Napoleon, who was a former artillery man himself, centered a lot of his strategies around his field guns. A Napoleonic battle without artillery is like a hamburger without the meat -- you always know something important is missing.
It makes it way more cinematic too. Also, when there isn't cavalry can just sit each other out.
Same, I hate that too but people don’t like the “over powered arty” especially howitzers. I say that if you can’t beat an opponent with artillery then you’re not a great general.
Great Battle. Just got into the total war series with Empire Total War. Absolutely love it, look forward to getting this one next.
Yea NTW was and ETW were fun. ETW could have been even better if CA hadn't abandoned it so quickly.
Excellent battle. It's good to see a Napoleon battle once again.
Damn what a nice battle. thank you heir.
+Mike McDoge The video was uploaded 13 minutes ago and the battle was 40 mins long so...
+crazymonkey19071907 yeah I dont watch all of it..
+Mike McDoge How have you guys even seen anything there - it's still at 144p YT quality and you can't see a damn thing ! You got real gruppies out there Heir because you have 30 likes before anyone could have really seen a video :P
+panwektor well im on my phone idk
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it.
Wow this is so damn awesome!!!!! Keep it up heir!!! Would love to see a series of this!!!!!!!!!

RGIS BG38
The Battle of Many Frances was my favourite upload of yours, ever.

Yea this game had some good online action.
+HeirofCarthage then I challenge you to a battle heir! :D
The Battle of Many Frances was one of my all-time fav vids!
Quite interesting to watch yourself after some years. :D
hell yes more of these heir! im down to play some napoleon anytime!
Cool! After you're done with your Shogun Campaign, I think an Empire Campaign or a Napoleon Campaign would be awesome.
Empire keeps getting flagged for music. I will consider it though.
One of the most epic battles I have seen!!!
It was a lot of fun.
I finally watched the famed Battle of Many Frances. So insanely awesome.
Keep up the vids man, really look up to you haha. Any tips on growing a channel?

heir, you're my hero man.
Praise the LORD Hollayluyah its about time heir posted some napoleon I would have died without it :D
Used to play Napoleon as HMG Djangokill Not played for ages though. I remember that Ligny was a particularly hard map to attack on. Dang this is awesome, we need some more Napoleon!
Yea it was time to bring some back.
Excellent.
This makes me wanna play again :)
Great commentary! By the way: chasseur means hunter in french, so if you can`t pronunce it maybe say hunter XD
No retreat from the frogs!
I would love to see a Napoleon campaign after you finish the Takeda campaign, Heir. Definitely enjoying the Takeda campaign though :)
I am loving the Takeda campaign. Realm Divide is going to be fun.
General Count Etienne Cambronne; "La Garde meurt, elle ne se rend pas!/The Guard dies, it does not surrender!"
Battle of Waterloo 18th June 1815
18th century warfare works so well with total war I hope we see an empire:2 in the future.
Interesting fact: pretty much up until WWI a melee engagement was like the last thing you wanted, you'd be more likely to stand point blank from the enemy and just keep firing muskets at eachother rather than charge them with bayonets
I wish the battles will be be even bigger (historical wise, one army must have at least between 50,000 - 60,000 troops)
BEAUTIFUL BATTLE
thanks I enjoyed seeing this one from the viewer
HeirofCarthage
No probs also
I hope you keep doing vids like this heir cause you never know what to excpect
Hey Heir, just wondering but do you have a mic that could be edited?
Where you can change the frequencys and tweak the lows, highs, mids, ect?
It doesn't come with software to do it so I would have to download something to make it happen.
If you do take submits of other peoples games, is there some sort of email I send it too?
You ever try Mount & Blade: Napoleonic Warfare? It's 1st/3rd person multiplayer shooter in this era. It's a lot of fun when every bullet counts because of reload times (15 seconds or so after every shot).
Haven't ever played it.
this was the best total war online game
Why dont you play Total war Empire Heir! :D ? Fantastic video though!
Do they have Mexico in Napoleon? I've never played and France invaded Mexico
I got excited when I saw this in my sub box. NTW is my favorite
It is certainly a fun one.
loved this game and Rome 1. I hope Warhammer will be good as well.
how do u send replays
thanks
Dude you should play a DarthMod Napoleon game! Would love to see you play as Prussia! :D
I never tried Darthmod yet
I strongly recommend it! It adds dozens of new balanced units to all nations, lets you play as a number of smaller factions and among many other things allows for bigger unit sizes and optional 40 unit stacks per army which can make for some spectacular battles :D Also adds more immersive battlesounds! In any case, I'd really enjoy a NTW campaign, modded or not, if you find the time for it!
Heir, you should totally play a Napoleon Total War campaign with DarthMod.
@heirofcarthage Your French is on point!
Can anybody send me a link to the battle of the many frances? I can't seem to find it and its supposed to be good
ruclips.net/video/PKmPsJ7o_LM/видео.html
if i play Napoleon online it always is lag in game or Connection problems and i have good computer and internet, like the game start going in slow mo or somevone leaves it never is good for me

If you think hard enough, Young guards are the next generation's Old guards.
I would like to send a replay to Heir, but I don't know how to.
yaaaasssss
Hope you enjoyed it :)
Heir do you play EU IV?
i dont think so
+IAmProof ThatGreatnessCanBeEncapsulatedInOneFormWhichIndeedTakesTheAppearance OfAGreekAdonis Hello!
+IAmProof ThatGreatnessCanBeEncapsulatedInOneFormWhichIndeedTakesTheAppearance OfAGreekAdonis Quite a name you got there xD
+IAmProof ThatGreatnessCanBeEncapsulatedInOneFormWhichIndeedTakesTheAppearance OfAGreekAdonis Holy cow, that username, good luck remembering that.
No I haven't ever played it.
Yeees Ty Heir
You are welcome. Glad you enjoyed it.
Oh, the jokes about the French! maybe you should have put a few about their bayonet charges. xD
America kind of owes due to France for their help in the revolution :) I better not kid them too much. I always like poking fun and seeing if people will dish it back though.
+HeirofCarthage Fun Fact, more French died for American Independence then Americans.
I was just playing a battle of Napoleon yesterday after a year or so of absence :D Can you read minds heir?
Maybe...no not really :)
Haha :D
Was a cool video, I'd love to see more
i miss this game
It is a good one
swiss foot are actually just on par with the fusiliers of the line. their stats are all the same xcept they have a slightly better reload rate. polish legion however are far superior comparable to the kings german legion foot, having high accuracy, reload and defense
after watching this i really wanna play mount & blade napoleonic wars
lol makes sense :)
Most of these players had no clue what they were doing.
+Emperor Weisser
Looks like it
+megaivan997 how do u send replays to heir
Many were making some critical errors. Napoleon has a nice skill gap for players who learn all the right tactics.
5:16 Pro tip: run your elite units up in blobs and shoot them in the back with your light infantry.
lol
Honestly I liked the battle of many Frances
heir will you be not shaving during next month? for no shave november, hairy heir
I always shave :) I only ever had a beard once.
+HeirofCarthage i think it would make you look rugged, in a good way
22:37 guy flies back into the river
Do more napoleons pzzzzzz
You know how you yanks have those dudes with sunglasses to watch the president?
Well Coldstreams are (20% of) the dudes who guard the queen! And the first New Model Army unit.
lol I like the comparison. :) Thanks for the info.
Just a friendly helper, the R in French is silent. :D
Hope it helps in pronouncing.
The next total war game should be WW1
+Connor Smith No, just no. I can't imagine how that would fit into the TW franchise. WW1, at least on the Western front, was little more than trench warfare; an endless series of massed human wave assaults and the inevitable counter attack. There was little room for tactical finesse.
How about Veitnam constant abushes and constant counter attacks lets try and keep the player on their toes.
+Connor Smith That just doesn't work with total war. You want that just play men of war dude.
4:45
It's no fun if you tell us we can make the jokes. :P
lol sorry I ruined it ;)
Does anyone else think that CA should make a second Empire Total War? I want to do a campaign as America! Empire: Total War's campaign wasn't all that great.
Old Guard was the strongest units of this time IN RL!!!!
Yea thy were tough
I disagree when you say my militia and lights vs his foot guard was fool : that was just the idea !! I wanted to take his foot guards down, by sacrifying weak units (russian lights are bad). The whole idea was to flank my ennemy
After watching it, i remembered it very well : it was a very easy battle, our enemies were just... bad.
Jean Baptiste Bessiere as a good player had just to smash his weak opponent. CSA and crofarmer did well.
I just had to take the town in front of me.
napoleon is best game cause of the chaos and massacre
The big battles can get pretty nasty and epic.
Opelchenie (ополчение) is pronounced as "apoltsjeni-ye"))
How is Napoleon campaign wise?
Cool..
It is basically an improved empire total war campaign..
But it's very limited unfortunately, due to the very small map
+Fellav Ttt still takes a LONG time to get to take Moscow when playing the French
It is pretty fun. The small campaigns are quick and fun. Grand campaign is fun but would have been cooler with a full world map like Empire. Fun though.
Imagine Empire, but better, with a much better Europe map, but none of The Americas, Africa, the Middle East, or India.
+HeirofCarthage A full map should be a huge priority in Napoleon II.
Hah, seaaaaaaaaaaaamen
;)
YOU KNOW HOW TO PLAY IT FOR FREE AND NO STEAM
LAN OR ONLINE
dude you need to stop saying sorry say you're welcome instead! We love your shit Heir :)
lol thanks!
please make a NTW let's play
NTW rule number one
If you play as France, bring Old Guard no matter what.
Rule number two
You dont mess with the Old Guard... ever.
What commander would waste his elite units in first line outgunned ? :) they are not tanks ofc, just killing power. what i meant with rule 2 is: overhelm or avoid, just do not mess with them...
Heir you didn't sign off
I screwed up ;)
Imo foot guard>young guard
Anyone wanna see line battles like this, but in stopmotion? If so, then check out my latest video, it's not the greatest, but if I get support for it then I know I can make it better.
i don´t want to be a hater, but i don't what you usually say in the intro........ just an honest opinion (peace)!
43rd
+iEat Crayons cute
Shyly warrior ♥_♥
Many are first...few are 43rd ;)
how you so bad at french
Napoleon sucks against ai but against friends is okay
+Dean Holland I remember beating a powerful swedish AI army of around 2000 soldiers with only 250 french soldiers(with 2 artillery pieces too).
+crazymonkey19071907 Really?? That's rather impressive
+crazymonkey19071907 Same thing happened to me with the Austrians, I gave them a real ass whipping with around 200 men against a full stack.
Yea AI is horrible in ETW and NTW.
HeirofCarthage Wow way to diminish my success Heir, you big jerk.
