I just picked up my SLO 100 yesterday and I can tell you for certain that the module crunch channel has way more gain than the actual amp does. It sounds good but definitely not the same
I just bought a Syn 50 with a Fryette Deliverence and Bogner Unberschall module, can't wait for your comparison. I Got sick of amp chasing and thought was the best alternative. I'm also a midi guy so this setup is a plus.
Sounds great....I have been thinking of getting the rack unit with a couple of modules to add channels to my 5150III....can’t wait for you to feature some other modules...
The 2 tubes per module interact with the 3 12ax7s in the amp. It is a well designed system. I wish there was a post boost with the Syn 30. Having a clean channel is great, but having a single dual channel module gives you 3 channels. I have been weighing out the Syn 30 vs the Syn 50. My current amp has 3 channels plus eq lead boost.
Side note..that synergy module comes through my iPad like a animal.possibly the best audio quality to date,,especially drop c .and I just bought a Marshall jvm210 h.lol
When are you going to record your comparison videos for the Synergy modules and real amps?? ❤️ It's also interesting that you mention that you've heard the SLO always described as being bright and upper-mid heavy. I've never heard anyone describe it that way - the American high gain sound is very low-mid heavy, and that sound was entirely derived off this amp. My SLO was super smooth and had a ton of low mids, but it seems like the newer ones are much more aggressive sounding. If mind had sounded like this, I would've kept it!
Lovely, so just a 57 hey? And we’re hearing the output from that? So you’re mostly hitting the preamp to get the tones and the power amp isn’t cooking too hot in the room there? I always like the sound of miking it up rather than using impulse responses, when I can. I don’t have an isolated room so I can’t really crank the poweramp on any of my amps
Hi Kyle,I’ve had the Synergy SYN-50 on pre order for a while but I’ve seen a RUclipsr saying the SYN-50 isn’t great fro metal as a power amp and he has recommended a SYN-1 going through another amp.I was wondering did you feel any of this playing through the SYN-30 or did you think it was great ?.Thanks
@@incitatus634 I haven't used either of those amps with the synergy stuff tbh but most 100w+ heads with serial loops should make them sound much closer to the real deal. I tend to run mine through my VHT Pittbull 100CL or MI Audio Beta.
Dude! The look on your face.... priceless! For real tho, the synergy SLO module sounds great, but.... you need to try a real SLO. They are monsters. The only amp I'd choose over my deliverance 120. I have a jca50 that was modded by Mike soldano, and I use the tung sol, 5751 tube compliment in the preamp, and it's extremely close to a real SLO
Have you played a SLO module? Many people that I talked to said the module is extremely close to the real thing. Most of the difference being more of a power amp thing. I'm intrigued...
Hey Kyle dunno if you’ll read this, but do you think this would be a good module for an only living witness tone , say like prone mortal form? My vht pitbull module is way too dry to get that kind of sound it seems.
Thumbs up as always bro 👍,any chance you could please try a different guitar with drop C tuning? Don't get me wrong the schecter sounds pretty good but something is missing? Maybe it's those pickups? It just lacks the brutality that I am used to hearing
great demos - subscribed - had coin this year - got syn1 and within a month owned 4 modules, so ill be getting the syn50 head soon. have the slo, vh4, 800 and deliverance. my only gripe with the slo is that i wish the preamp had dual eqs. and yes i know the real deal doesnt... great tones. tried the uberschall but it was too far from the modified marshall type tones i prefer. otherwise they have all been home runs
Def gotta try the real thing. My SLO smashes my own face on a near daily basis. Side note, recently bought the SYN-1 and the BE-BB module. Found that one disappointing. Might go for a Fryette module next.
Can you compare the Fryette Ultra Lead module to your VHT head?, that would be a cool video. EDIT: duh! i should probably watch the video before commenting eh?
Now i want a synergy amp... I thought this whole interchangeable preamps were just novelty ideas.. Please compare the slo with other high gain preamp modules.. The demo that i've heard they are all sound the very similar to each other.
having owned several modules - lets be honest, many (most?) of these preamps fall into the variety of / modded b hot rodded marshall - and they all are using the same power amp. having said that, there are distinct tonal differences, and when ur in a module you know which one ur in. the diezel and deliverance are instantly recognizable. the SLO and 800 have some similarity at low gain tones.... higher up the dial they sound different
@@belligerentamateur SLO-30 isn’t $4000. I’ve seen them go as low as $2000. Point is synergy stuff isn’t cheap. Buy the SLO plugin from neural dsp.. that would be a poor man’s SLO
@@shredding51 no it wouldn't, it's not an amp. If you want to compare used prices, then $1,700 vs on average $2,400 for the Soldano. Still a decent price gap. I never said it was cheap, I implied it was more affordable. Relax.

I think that's one of the best sounds you've ever gotten Kyle.. the amp sounds amazing. Its full, crunchy yet tight.
It was very pleasing, to say the least. Lol
This module sounds great. You practically nailed my SLO with a MXR GT-OD tone. I know those in-the-room feels!
Sexual
I have the Syn 50 and 10 modules and it blows me away every time I play it. Slo, both Fryette modules and the Ecstasy are my favorites.
Do you have the mark IIC+ one?
Can the Syn 50 pull out power for club shows or should I ask is it good for any venues?
Kyle was today years old when he realized Soldanos live up to the hype. Even the stripped down Hot Rods are killer.
I did an Aveneger 100 demo a while back, I been done known!
Soldano amps have that bright and clear tone that always bring a smile to your face 😍😍

Thank you!
Thanks for demoing with a set of Fishman Fluences, I'd love to see these on more videos!
Great thrash combo,
Beefy pickup
That scale length is special
Municipal waste tone vibes
Keep it up

You could get more low end with a Pepers Dirty Tree in the TC mode
Uberschall module next please vs your Uber.
With a synergy 5050 and the syn-1 you have a total of 5 12ax7s including the module so its like having the actual head's pre section
Damn that module sounds fantastic.
Damn, Kyle, you sound good with this amp/module!
Thanks Sven!
God damn that crunch channel!!

Get the syn 50😉. Imho the 30 is more suitable for the morgan ac, os, plexi... modules.
Sounds just fine to me!
I just bought the HBE.. kind of wondered if i should went with the SLO 🤔. HBE sounds killer too though

The Syn 50 head has a Density control which I believe is similar to a depth or resonance control.

"poor man's" 😂 this stuff is ridiculous high priced and not even available right now at least here in germany..but great! love my synergy rig.
Well this whole setup new is $1700 here on the states vs $4k for an SLO so I think it's applicable. Lol

If money is not tight try the SLO module through a Fryette power amp! Holy Jeebus.

Would be cool to see/hear this vs the SLO you just got

I'm thinking it can. We will see soon for sure

Same preamp, totally different poweramp sections. For that, they sound very very different
