Michael… Your compositional skills are amazing! Great job! Have you created a video on how you make your demo songs? I would really love to know your process and how you come up with the drum tracks…
I’ve been waiting for this updated module. Love the soldano sound but I didn’t expect to like the lower gain as much. I always went balls out on the high gain. Very usable on both channels.
I appreciate your channel. You don't sling garbage like a lot of other people lately. I know I can always trust this channel as a valid opinion of a piece of gear. Great video. I sold all of my Synergy gear but now I am considering going back, especially when the Syn 20 gets released.
The tone you’re getting at 12:08 is the quintessential SLO tone. That “super-crunch” ultra-percussive, mid-focused, articulate tone that’s made for rock riffs, that unfortunately, absolutely NO ONE dials in with this amp (as for as RUclips goes). Unfortunately, Michael also demonstrated just how quickly you can lose that tone, if not careful with the gain. Then you get into muddy, fizzy, crap with this amp. It’s VERY easy to do. Some amps you can get away with using the lead gain settings for rhythm. Not with this amp. It’s the only flaw the SLO circuit has (IMO).
This is what I’m talkin about!!!! The first module should’ve had the crunch channel because it is the most underrated part of the SLO. These are gonna sell stupid fast, so I hope they keep this version around a good long while.
It's always nice to hear you play. Unfortunately I have bought a SP-77 a few weeks ago. I don't know if I would really need this one, but it's great to know it's available.
That sounds pretty awesome. I also thought the original SLO module was pretty awesome though too. Here's my dilemma, do I sell my original SLO module to get the new upgraded one? Or do I wait and save my money for the X88R reissue that's supposed to be coming down the pipeline soon?
X88R reissue will be over 3k dollars, it can't really compare with a 400 bucks module can it? Well, 400 for the module and another 400 for the single module caddy.
I know I say it over and over but very great playing. I really like your phrasing. I wish it would wear off on me more. Great video great sound. Love it!!!!
@@BigHairyGuitars check Fredrik Åkeson's slo2 module video fron synergy's YT channel, you can hear him play old opeth riffs with it. They use those live.
The Syn20IR they showed at NAMM 2024. It's a GREAT platform for the Synergy stuff, great built in clean channel, and then a slot for 1 module. So it's a 3 channel, 20w head, with built in IR output. Really killer.
I'm probably going to sell my old SLO module to get this one, I definitely prefer to dial the blue and red channels differently and a shared EQ annoyed me
At 5:21, which Synergy head is that lunchbox size? It doesnt look like the Syn30 or Syn1, but it looks awesome! Looks like an easier way to get into the Synergy system.
That is the upcoming 20 watt head with IR capabilities. Similar to the Soldano Astro in that part. At this time it seems to be first quarter of 2025 for its release. It was shown at this past NAMM but has seen some revisions that has delayed production. I received this info from Synergy themselves at the Sweetwater GuitarFest.
If you can whisper a word to the Synergy fellas, I’d sure love a Gallien Krueger ML250 module with that chorus and echo. Get some sweet Power Windows and Seventh Son action happening. 😀
@@BigHairyGuitarsthere's no reason it wouldn't support that. The output pin to the power amp is still the same, the only thing is the module outputing signals with effects, which are internal to the module. Nothing changes down the line.
@@JohnWiku. I think it would also be cool if they made effects modules you could put in the Syn-2 or amp. Have some knobs and a switch for each effect to choose it before preamp or like if it was in effects loop. 😀
I probably say this every video of yours. But your playing is too inspirational to get to the end without having to pause video and run off and grab a guitar. be back in 1/2hr.
*No clean channel...... **#PASS**! I will stick with my TWO NOTES REVOLT paired with an original TWO NOTES CAB 9w/software update and a Source Audio EQ2* Those Synergy Modules, "let alone the chassis"; will set you back a good penny, for them to NOT provide a damn CLEAN CHANNEL! They are just going to FORCE YOU to buy another module, just to have a CLEAN TONE that equals BAD BUSINESS! Plus with my REVOLT I get a god damn great MARSHALL PLEXI and a FENDER BASSMAN and a hell of boost and midi switching in all analog circuitry.* ........................the Module does sound great!
Sounds like early 90s Satch! I’m in heaven.

Thanks. I've been working on an album this year. Getting ready to put that out. Then I'm going to put together a course on production.

Fantastic sounding module and demo!
Thanks George!
So much toys on market today...and so little guitar albums ! In your hands Michael, everything sound amazing!

You always come up with some tasty riffs with these reviews, amen hallelujah 🎉
killing the intro as usual Michael 😁 and I'm really digging the lower-mid gain tones on that module. Great stuff
Thanks!!!
Damn dude! That opening song was killer! Great playing and tone.
Thanks so much!
Amazing track, amazing playing & amazing sound (delicious mix and master too)
Kudo's for an outstanding opening track! That sounds amazing!!
THANKS!! :)
Always amazing, I say hi from Hollywood Florida, thank you for the videos !!!
Man, I don't know why I'm just now learning about Synergy but thanks for putting this out there! This sounds awesome!
This idea has been around for over 20 years now, but Synergy has really taken the whole concept of swappable preamps to the next level though.
First riff gave me some Kings X vibes. Nice 👍
Awaiting the Wicked Sensation riff!! Sounds amazing
Very cool! So many modules to buy, and now here's another one on my list.
Yup. That’s the sound. Awesome.
You know Mike is going to be 'cookin' when he has his chef pants on! Great opening tune! Love the t-shirt.
HAHA! 🤣

Killer playing and tones as always!
THANK YOU!!!
always great tones.
That's the best song so far and better be on the album
I really like the SLO mod, I would imagine the SLO II is great!
Beautiful track and what a solid sound. Interesting to me how the Slo can be so distorted but friendly and expressive.
Intro has the Satriani swing, nice. 😊

Ok. Time to buy another module. 😉
Got some hair on them notes. Sounds incredible cranked. I read VH Carnel knowledge was done with the original soldano

@@BigHairyGuitars Agreed! Also I see there is a limited purple variant so obviously I had to get that one. haha
Doesn’t have much in the way of cleans, of courses, but those edge of breakup tones at 8:48 are definitely impressive!
As are the mid-gain tones afterwards! ❤
I need that shirt!

Just curious. What are the woods on the Floyd shabat? Really dig it!
Also, what scale?
Standard fender scale. What is that 25.5? It's Alder body. Maple with Rosewood neck. Thanks!
I heard you could mod the older module systems could be upgraded for the Synergy modules. I could get the Lynch head with 3 modules...

I just wish the base price was a little more affordable. Otherwise I would of gotten into Synergy. I very much like the concept.
What is that Synergy head at 5:21 top right hand corner?. Is that a new head coming out soon?
Yes.
❤❤❤
🤘👍
I feel like that first intro riff was influenced by King’s X’s “It’s Love”
I would get the Z and the Soldano II if I had the money. Most likely I will get the Astro 20
And the Module in the left Slot ?😅
Wait a second did you just slip a new head pic in this vid? Never seen that before.5:21

love the tone. is it terrible to say it reminds me of a rectifier tone though? i do love my recto amp, single rec.
Another ripping intro
:)). Thanks!!!
Is this the first Syn module to have a second edition based on the same original amp?
Sounds fat and fabulous, regardless!
Technically, I think so. The BE-100 module came out with a "Deluxe" version, which is a similar upgrade.
