My father always said that he believes that Lumbees from Robeson county in North Carolina came from the lost colony. You see so many natives w brown skin, dark thick hair, yet have blue eyes. Always believed that to be true, if the colony did leave with the natives who’s to say this isn’t so?
Maybe they left with their women, or maybe the entire colony integrated.
That ending was spot-on, 10/10 scriptwriting

There is also another story that is rarely if ever talked about. There were Maroons who had been exported as slaves into areas of Florida. As many of them rebelled, they formed allies with, and in many instances, cohabited the Seminoles. As they learned the land, many moved up from the Florida territory and on into what is now the Carolinas and Virginia areas including Roanoke. Some believe that those settlers eventually mixed in with this same group as well for their own survival.

My ancestors landed in the NC area about 40 years before Roanoke was an itch. They integrated with the Native Americans quite readily. So also not the first English baby born. Maybe the first to stay an English citizen at the time.
they probably moved in with the natives because of the threat of the spanish navy. it wouldn't be good for them to be settling near the ocean in proximity with the spaniards.
