I'm a week into 100% keto hoping my schizophrenia symptoms may ease... I think I'm at the stage where it's worse before it gets better... I can see the funny side... Yesterday I travelled to Auckland NZ CBD Central library... Over 100 mean voices.. like on leaving security said they "hope I rot"... The funny bit is why the hell did I attempt that trip feeling like this and the level of the voices... Anyway yea that's where I'm at... PS your family are so cute when I was a kid I did trampolining and travelled the country winning a lot of comps... Singles... Synchro and double mini... Hey! This is Michelle in New Mexico again. I've followed you a long time because I have a schizoaffective diagnosis, however I've also been told I don't have it and that I have PTSD and maybe Bipolar. It's amazing how the brain works and how complex it is! I went to Amen Clinics for the brain scan and psych consult and that's where they told me I was "misdiagnosed." However, I do relate to a lot of your journey. A LOT of it! I am really enjoying this keto journey you are on with you as I use only an antidepressant and supplements to deal with my delusions. I take a lot of the supplements my Amen Clinics psychiatrist recommended that they do sell on BrainMD. I've basically been hearing voices now for 13 years! Seroquel was more disabling for me than my symptoms so I don't take it. Some of the others caused disabling anxiety and nervous energy. So, without the drugs, I am not disabled and I really love this medical keto idea for healing the brain. At amen clinics I discovered a brain injury (I was pretty sure I already had one) and signs of cerebral atrophy from Choleesterol. I have a other brain health issues not just voices. So that's why I love this approach of Keto. Dr Daniel Amen is on medical keto himself and talks about it and his wife Tana Amen also talks about her keto diet on her Instagram. I really love anything all natural first because the drugs themselves are disabling. But I'm not ruling out taking meds if I need to after I try everything else and do tons of research. What I wanted to share with you - as I have a brain health issue as a result of my high cholesterol - is this program by Dr Mark Hyman on RUclips where he and another Funcional Medicine doctor discuss what tests to get that regular doctors don't order for managing Cholesterol. It's so important as in my family high cholesterol causes another brain health issue - dementia. Yikes! Here's the title of the program '"The Cholesterol Test You Should Be Getting" @drmarkhyman. I really loved the guest who talked about Vegan Keto because for me, the biggest problem I have with Keto is keeping my Triglicerides and Cholesterol controlled and mastering how to do that is a challenge as my Triglicerides go very high - like 500-1000 (unmedicated). So I need to master how to Keep those numbers low on Keto. Any tips on this are much appreciated and I hope this information is of some benefit to you and your community as well. Your friend in Health, michelle

I don't think it's still dirty, but there are prob some marks left from the drying streaks. 🤭

Lovely video! Happy birthday to Teddy. He's so cute and bright.
Could you please share: for the diet, do you just estimate how much protein and always have more vegetables and avocado and cream or coconut milk? I am not good at measuring/weighing food every time and also limited on this facility and food. Thanks

ive really been struggling with switching to a new anti. I'm terrified of relapsing as bad as the last time I was off meds and have bad reactions to medications in the past. I want to switch due to side effects of current anti really affecting my life. But I'm doing SO WELL in my headspace atm. I'm also trying to get back to work and I don't want to juggle working and switching meds at the same time

I have the same disorder, and seeing you with your family, happy, was really inspiring. I want to have kids one day, but I have felt that it might be out of reach because of my disorders. Can you do a video about motherhood if you haven’t already?

I’m managing bipolar 2 and did keto for a couple months and it really seemed to help but I’ve fallen off mainly cause I’m always on the go, also adhd makes life harder to be consistent.
Could you do a cooking video on your favorite keto meals and recipes? Maybe even meal prep? I don’t want to give up on it, I’m on the highest dose of my two medications and would love to be less dependent on it.

Even the intonation of her voice has improved. Lauren used to sound a little nervous or 'on edge' when speaking and now her speech flows seemingly effortlessly. Also her face is brighter, she smiles more.
In the past Lauren would often have a distressed look in her eyes which is gone, at least in a couple of videos I've watched recently.
As somebody who also has schizoaffective disorder its very encouraging to see somebody with the same diagnosis improve so much.

I know it might be tmi but how has your cycle been? I’ve been doing keto for about 4 months also and I’ve noticed my period is prolonged and irregular now and I’m just wondering if you have insight on your experience and how you manage that. I’ve heard a lot from a dr named dr Mindy and she explains how during certain times of the month you need more carbs and I want to continue doing keto long term without eating too many carbs, I’m just seeing what your experience on all that is 😊😊
