The funny thing is that joey was with slipknot in download , and James asked him at last minute if he could play some songs , he didnt have time to reharsal , and Joey said yes !!! , Slayer was too and Dave Lombardo also play a few songs , inthink there where 2 more drummers that played in that night , impressive , Joey dis the same with Satyricon , where he replace the drummer for a whole tour , and then back to touring with slipknot , joey was a beast RiP , you Will be missed, this is extremely sad for metal comunity.
They did rehearse, but only for one hour. Luckily, Joey had once performed with a Metallica tribute band, which is why he was already familiar with a few of the classic songs.
The other drummer was Flemming Larsen
It’s funny. I typed in Metallica with a good drummer and that show came up.

Very sad to hear Joey has passed away. 46 is still young to lose your life. Rest Easy as your duty on earth has sadly come to an end. Sleep tight and enjoy eternal life now you’ve gone to join the other musicians that have went before you did. Much sympathy to your children, parents, friends, former band members and for sure the fans. They’ll miss you like your family must 💔😢💔

lars's drumming execution leaves something to be desired I agree, but his knowledge behind the scene in the studio is where he really shines
Joey made Lars look like an amateur while playing possibly his easiest gig ever. Metallica has had a bunch of variables that made them great but, Joey was an absolute gift to a craft that can’t be reproduced.
