my Q key had this weird feeling, almost like there was something stuck underneath one side of the keycap. after following your directions & gently prying it open, there *was* something stuck there! some sort of small metal ring the size of an ant. once I swiped it away & carefully replaced the key, it works perfectly! thank you so much!
Thanks a lot mate. I thought I would break the keycaps of my laptop if I were do try to remove it, but with the method you teach on this video, I was able to do it without any problems!
Great video! I just wanted to mention that you have to be careful with the screwdriver: I just recently broke the scissor hinge of my company laptop while swapping keys. I did this a couple of times before without any issues, but maybe the newer models are more fragile now, I don't know... anyway these little hinges have super tiny pins that can break off easily. I was able to order a replacement part though 😥
I had a laptop with a bad rubber thing and I carefully removed it, using some sharp razor blade. I had bunch of other keyboards where I didn't needed a caps etc, cut one off and glued to needed keyboard. It worked 100%.
Gang saved me my rubber fell off the laptop its not mine its my dads so he was prolly gonna be mad that it brokethought glue would work but didint know how tk use it right
In my case when i press button, it just falloff from keyboard (keycap with mechanism) I also just set it back and press and it stick back, but it's just repeat every time after few actions with it.. how to fix it? Also I hear accent from you. Should i speak russian for being correct?
If it doesn't stay in place - that means some of these plastic hooks on key cap or scissor mechanism are broken, or aluminum hooks on the keyboard itself are bent or broken. I usually remove a good one and compare it to the non-working one. Yes, Russian. It's fine, you can use either of these two languages.
My right arrow is getting pressed continuously on its own, that is, if I play any video on youtube, the video is getting forwarded on its own. Is removing the key cap the solution to prevent it from getting pressed?
@@LaptopRepairAid I have opened the key cap and applied a cellotape on it so dust doesn’t enter. And now my laptop is working perfectly fine. I am not using the right key since I am afraid attaching the cap will again press the key continuously
Thanks man
Needed to clean my keyboard desperately

I wish you would have showed how to remove the rubber cup. How can you do it safely? Did you have to scrape it hard on yours?

What if it's still not working? The rubber was still on but I've done what you've said and its still not responsive, it's the W
What is exactly happening if you press w?

You might want to open it and see if anything is stuck inside... Try to press the rubber cup without a key cap and scissors mechanism...
