2 weeks ago? This guide seems perfect! I have a problem with my S key (ASUS ROG GA502D), it felt like it "sank" compared to other keys, and sometimes it doesn't work. I may have to hold it a bit to make it work again. I wonder if my problem is the rubber that broke and doesn't come into contact with the sensor, or if it's the board underneath. Hi amazing video. I have the same Mx Keys and my F and 1 keys are not working most of the time. I've removed and cleaned the key caps but they are still inconsistent. They sometimes work but most often do no work when pressed. I was wondering if changing the rubber cup will fix this or is this something else?
There are different layers of foil under the key. When pressing the rubber cup it presses down the top layer to another layer. When they hit each other the signal is being send to the computer. There can be dust under it, but you should be able to blow it aside, if so.

Die b und n haben erst garnicht funktionkert aber dann habe ich sie mit isoprop gereinigt und seitdem funktioniert ein einzelner tip wieder aber leider nicht wenn icu gedrückt halte. Ungewöhnliches Verhalten kann auf einen Flüssigkeitsschaden hindeuten. Ansonsten würde ich denken, dass es eher die Software ist. Ich kann z.B. nur Zeichen gedrückt halten, weil die Autovervollständigung bei Buchstaben, sofort einen Vorschlag hat, der das Gedrückthalten unterbricht. (Mac Computer)
@apfeltasten Ja ich denke auch das da mal Flüssigkeit in die Tastatur gekommen ist aber das ungewöhnliche ist halt das bei allen anderen Tasten das durchgängige betätigen funktioniert. Hab ich mit nem Texteditor getestet, der hat keine Autovervollständigung. Ist ja bei spielen auch relevant, das die durchgängige Aktivierung erkannt wird. Wenn es wirklich mit der Flüssigkeitsproblematik zu tun hat, wunderts mich halt das eine einzelne auslösung immer perfekt funktioniert.
Wenn eine von den Metallnasen zur Aufnahme der weißen Halterung gebrochen ist, dann ist die Tastatur leider gottes nicht mehr wirklich zu gebrauchen. Kleben oder lötten sollte bei diesen kleinen Teilen leider nicht möglich sein. So zumindest meine Einschätzung abee ich lasse mich gerne eines besseren belehren.
I truly owe you one. Last question. My Surface Laptop 2 space bar is sticking to the bottom and not popping back up, the rubber cup is damaged but still able to do it's duty for now. When I press the spacebar back into position, only the outer most wires are snapping on but I think neither of the 2 white mechanisms are. Any suggestions? All connectors on them look intact (and on the spacebar too)
when you are sure everything is in place, press down the key to the clips. Be sure to also press where the white mechanisms are to click in the key. Be aware: if it's not alligned, the clips can easy break. I would recommend trying the whole key again. You can send me a picture of the back of the keys and the white clips, just to make sure there is nothing broken. send it to service at apfeltasten dot de
Hello how are you, I would like to know how you came to this diagnosis? My MX Key keyboard has key 9 being pressed uninterruptedly or sometimes it doesn't work, it would be able to tell me if this procedure is enough to solve this problem ?
nope, what you experience sounds like a technical issue probably caused by liquid or a small stone / dust unter the rubber cup. When the rubber cup came off, it won't be able to uninterruptedly press the key.

It sounds like the rubber cup, because else the key wouldn't be "sank".

Hast du auch einen Tipp wenn die Metalhalterung unten nicht mehr grip hat für den Hinge Key? Dann muss man wohl den hinge festkleben mit leim oder ?!
