    It's only 800 lbs dry? That is definitely phenomenal. The foam construction, ceder sheathing, power system, window coverings, and simple plumbing design are all spectacular. This is one of the best builds I've seen so far, home built or factory or otherwise. You did a lot of stuff I wanted to do when I build my own, but your methods are proven because you built this wonderful camper already. Kudos, and respect, to your skills, ingenuity, dedication, and workmanship.
    You've built something we all can and should aspire to.

    In 1988 I dreamed of this idea, long before these were ever really imagined or built. Made of wood, on the back of a pickup truck just like this. I remember my mom laughing at my idea. I was just a kid and she thought I must be crazy. But I was just a little ahead of my time. And you have proven me right. This is a beautiful build! Congratulations.

    Awesome idea on the windows in controlling condensation. A lot cheaper than buying Dometic double pane windows. Plus, you can keep the light out if you happen to be sleeping during the daytime.

    Your camper is beautiful I love the wood finish inside and out. Using the insulation for wallboard is genius also cedar construction for weight saving. The insulated interior shutters was a great idea. I built a camper of a similar size and weight a couple of years ago for my 1/2 ton truck and we have loved using it. Recently my wife and I took a 2 week tour of Colorado, Utah, Arizona and New Mexico. You can see my camper construction on my RUclips channel. We have found we like traveling in a truck camper and I am considering getting a one ton truck and building a much larger camper for extended trips. I will incorporate some of your ideas. Again great job. I know you will enjoy using it

    This is one of the best builds I've ever seen.
    I know you like the cedar look. I bet you could go lighter with aluminum skin. Other benefits of a white exterior to keep it cool.
    Also upping the solar panels with some that you deploy when you park would go a long way.
    I'm also a fan of much lighter colors on the interior, but I don't have kids 😊
    Still your the best builds I've seen! I'm binge watching them all.

    I think you could easily add a shower just inside the door. Removable shower curtains could surround a shower space and have a small pool to stand in - easy to drain from the door. I've seen these done in vans - should work in your camper.

  • @mikemead2315
    @mikemead2315 3 года назад

    Fantastic! Beautiful! I think the truly amazing thing is the completeness of all the systems on basically a single pass. I could see getting to this point after years and years of trial-and-error modifications, but this level of final product is enviable. Nice. Great tour and explanations too.
    You probably know this when choosing an AC unit, but for others, their are “through the wall” AC units and “window” AC units, and they vent heat very differently. We tried using a window AC in an enclosed space just opening a window to let out the heat. It continually shut off from over heating. Window units vent heat out the side drawing cooling air from the back; through the wall units vent heat out the back. The window unit we used heated up the box holding the AC basically never allowing it to cool.
    Thanks for the tour!

    • @EndgameCampers
      @EndgameCampers  3 года назад +2

      I appreciate the compliments. Regarding window AC units: I am not an expert, but the one I have blows the heated exhaust (which passes by the condenser) out the back and intakes from the side and top. Within the confines of that box, I created two separate ducts for those systems. Both have access to the outside of the camper via that hatch. Finally, the interior, or cooling side, is isolated from the other system just discussed. Everything works. My only concern will be if I see a degrade in efficiency in extremely hot weather because of the confines of the ducting system I made. Initial tests are promising though. Thanks for the feedback

    I have my own slide in camper with a plywood floor. I recommend setting it on two sets of two by sixes running 10 foot long out the tailgate. Keeps the plywood floor elevated off the floor to prevent rot. Then mount 2 x 6 deck boards where the tailgate is on that two extra feet.

    You did such a great job with this build and you definitely should be proud of the completed project. The window covers are a great idea and I like how PS window door opens up to the dinette backrest while still being able to sit. I am very interested on real world tests of the bluetti/solar/AC performance. Some ideas for future videos: 1. Do you have a plan for a heater? 2. Show the details of the final design for the AC mounting and ductwork. 3. The total weight of the camper totally ready to go camping, fully loaded.
