    This video dropped at the PERFECT time in my life. I’ve had, probably the worst year of my life, and this holiday season is making me realize that I’m not bouncing back as quickly as I have in the past. I’ve been dealing with some pretty insane emotions this year, but oddly enough, they aren’t exactly alien to me. I’ve been here before, but this time the emotions are WAY more intense. It’s almost like I’m breaking. I’m finally starting to crack. I think therapy is the only way I can reverse this trend, and I’d probably better hurry up! 😂 Thanks again, I needed this today.

    Man, this was RAW. But I'm glad you put it out there.
    Men, when they were boys, generally recieved the message of 'shut up and put up', either directly or indirecly; at least in my culture. Not complaining about it so much because I guess it existed because boys were expected to grow up and be tough to the world. And at least, in the environment I grew up in, you adopt the 'don't talk about your pain' attitude. I used to be so proud of not going to the doctor for years. I changed attitude a few years ago, and among the wake up calls were last year when I was feeling groggy all of the time and somewhat depressed. A visit to the GP showed up I was very low in Vitamin D.
    I initially made the appointment because I was having some significant skin issues some weird symptoms inside my body and started to get scared that it might be an underling 'cancer' thing or something, so I went to get bloodword done and also had my testes examined because guys have been notorious in not getting checked in that area. I was terrified while waiting for the appointment; of course nobody I knew knows this because you know 'shut up and put up'. And that's just the physical side - the mental health side is much more taboo. We've really got to take care of ourselves.

    FRankly what frustrates me is your answer: "go and talk to a professional." That is bullshit. It should be "come and talk to me". If men opened up, mutually trusted each other tank talked about their problems, like - you know - friends!, that would probably help a lot and make professionals unneccessary in many cases.
    I mean think about it, how shitty a deflection it is. Some dude tells you how shit things are and you just say "go see a shrink, don't bother me with it." I know, this is a bit of a projection here but this is how it sounds, frankly.
    MEN NEED SOCIAL RELATIONSHIPS. Actual ones. And sitting there together, fishing, and not talking for 6 hours is already a form of male bonding and relaxation, just imagine how fruitful it could be to mutually let the guard down and talk.
    It's not just a male problem. We get away from the situation that women simply expect men to function. Yes it's great to have our solid rock that we can lean on and that helps with all our usual confidence problems. But it's time for women (and men) to acknowldege that the difference between men and women is not so big at all and in the end we're both just human and need a shoulder to cry on and reassure us sometimes. It's not a female need. its a human need.

    • @TallGlass-fh8qf
      @TallGlass-fh8qf Год назад +1

      That requires far more change on the women’s end than stated. Most men here can tell you the only woman that ever truly cared for them was their mother(if that)…after that they became a bearded resource and that’s it. We are sized up by what we provide, not by our existence. Therefore when we are closed-off people think we are providing security (strength), and when we are open people think we are providing insecurity (weakness). It’s harder than you are saying…
      Women can’t even be comfortable with MRA’s bringing awareness to abortion, family court custody rights, domestic violence, and prison rape. I see plenty male feminists, but not even a handful of female MRA’s.

      @@TallGlass-fh8qf I do actually agree. Much of what I said, might as well be wishful thinking. I stated what I think would be needed, but I am neither optimistic that that change will happen on a big scale.

      Exactly. Men have been tricked to believe we are supposed to compete for the “alpha position” so much that we don’t feel safe confiding in each other cause other males will think we are “beta”. I don't think most of the RUclips self-improvement guys out there focused on men are that good, but some of them are, and they help people. I wouldn't generalize that, and you will also have to notice that even though we need to suck it up sometimes, and that's ok as well. We are missing good brotherhood that we can be ourselves and share that burden, more than going to therapists. Also, we are missing good manhood as well, so we are biologically designed to suck it up, but as i understand we need a middle ground on this and i agree with you. Deny our manhood (I am not saying you said that) but one of the points that is increasing our mental health issues as a man is that saying we are worthless, we are bad, we are toxic and all that modern shit that's been for far too long about 100 years.

  • @heavymetalmixer91
    @heavymetalmixer91 Год назад +8

    Btw, something I've noticed as well is that many "trans women" (men that become women) are created because of this issue, we as men, have. Some of us (well them, 'cause I'm not a trans) think that if only women can express their feelings and talk about mental health openly, then it's better to become a women. This is what a trans friend of mine told me and I get it.
    And then there's me, whoe doesn't care that much about costumes and talk about my mental health to my friends from time to time, they look at me like I'm a weirdoo but the situations become hella funny.

Then you see divorce all over the place on steroids, its seems like a better deal for young boys to get some of that "female treatment" by becoming gay or "trans". There's nothing weak about a man having emotions. People need to stop making men feel like it's weak to express themselves. My father died 3 years ago I wept for days. My grandmother died I cried, my biological mother doesn't give a damn about me of course I feel hurt, she even told me she wish she had a abortion but I'm all man. Messsge to men it's okay to talk about your hurt, feel sad and even mad but lets find positive ways to cope. I pray God wipe my worldly tears with his heavenly Kleenex. Even god wept at the sin of man, so if I was created in his image I have all his emotions. God bless all the men who are going through things. I always tell my son I love him, because I wish I tell my father I love him or hear him say I love you back but he's dead. 😭😭😭

Every single time that i opened up to someone or have been vulnerable to anyone they judged me or used it as a weapon later on, their behaviour slightly changed. The less people know man the better it is. I started to live like i was alone and ffs it feels good to be a man and not give a fuck, when i have issues nobody knows , when i have a succes or a project nobody knows. I live a really private life and the less poeple know the more they like me for some reason lol.

    It so true there are no funds or resources for men when it comes to our depression, mental health, behaviors that comes from our childhood. If we lived in an abusive home whether it was physical, mental, sexual, spiritual. We are always told to walk it off, brush it off to the side. That why the prisons are filled with men of all colors and races. I'm 43 I have 5kids, 4 of my kids know me I was there for them not as much as I wanted to but I am fighting to get custody of them because they are living with in abusive grandma. It took me along time to get my act together. My other son knows of me but his mom was with a guy and that guy was dad to my son. I have tried many times to establish communication with my other son but the mom doesn't want me in his life at this moment because she feels I care more about my 4kids than him. It very complicated situation having one with one woman and having 4kids with another women but I try. My 4kids know of there brother and they have asked to see him. Hopefully they can someday. Anyway gid blessed the men and dads who are trying their hardest out there. Times are hard even more so for us
