Fishing with Worms and Meat

- Worms and meat get the fish (but bites are really picky). Graeme is out and about after a long winter so the water is still fairly cold. He tries to double up his tactics by casting a home made Golf ball feeder out towards an island using his quivertip rod. Then he sets up his float rod to fish in the margins for whatever he can catch. But he misses several bites and the cold water is making the fish picky. By changing between worm sections and tiny cubes of luncheon meat he picks fish up,but it’s a tough afternoon, even though the sun is out. Then it’s over to see Grant who is running through some great tips on choosing cooking units and heating items that could keep you warm in your Carp bivvy...all very interesting...Enjoy.

Grant has a very natural manner in presenting things. You two bounce well off each other. Definitely would be interesting to see the two of ye do a fishing episode together.
I call him the "One Take Wonder"...We have a brief chat, throw a few ideas of topics around,I point the camera, and press record and away he goes..it really is that easy..He is a mine of information...hope we get some more tips from him.
All will be welcome. Thank you for all you do Sir.@@TAFishing
Love these older videos, and love your channel Graham, long may it continue.
Not old, just filmed earlier this year...plenty more to come.
Good old Grant, nothing is too much trouble and no sales pitch , very interesting man as well 😉.
Good evening Graeme, I see the bots are out 😂
Ah yes...I put my readers on to inspect closely, just before I remove. It is the silly season after all...I imagine more junk now the Xmas sales are on....I'm off to remove what I can....
Been wearing that fleece lined shirt for years. Fantastic warm shirt.
hello graeme just wonderd what has happened to smith these days? did you drown him
I think he got caught under the anchor when I sold the boat..he's probably sleeping in amongst the anchor rope !
Your looking old Stooped drink heaps of milk and lamb chops sausages and steak with lambs fry and bacon for breakfast for a week
At 72 after a lifetime of physical work I'm not going to be marching around like a Sergeant Major on a parade ground ..!!...
Massive thanks to yourself and Grant for a great informative video Sir !
The cooking and heating info came about because one of our commenters a few films back asked me if Grant would talk about it...so we did...
I for one would be interested if TA fishing did a review on day ticket venues in the West Sussex area.I would also gladly buy stuff online from Grants shop.A very knowledgeable chap.
Kelly kettle way to go
What's the Name of Grants tackle shop?? Those socks would be ideal Xmas present for my uncle
Called Tackle Up,in Fleet.Hampshire. Not sure if Grant has a website but you should be able to phone him. I was in there yesterday.
@TAFishing Thank you, I'll have a look,
Just watched your video Graham, brilliant as always. Love grants dog with her pink hair. Lol. I'm already looking forward to Friday to see what's next on your fantastic channel. Keep them coming you legend. 😉👍
Graham, I'm sure you have put this up before, where's Grants shop
Fleet in Hampshire(sort of North Hampshire),
Cheers Graham, must pop in and see Grant. Take care and be safe. Have great Christmas. @@TAFishing
Greame.. thanks again.. always amazing , will you be doing any winter beach fishing vidoes this winter please? we do love them ....
Nice to see a day when it isn't persisting down with rain. I wish Grant (is it) had a tackle shop near us. All of our locals have closed and I have a longer journey now to go to one.
Really enjoyed watching and can't wait for the next one
Grants right, if you're good to your customers they'll keep coming back, for sure. That's the only way to be, honest and respectful to the customers. A lot of places aren't like that anymore, their there to make a buck and to hell with the customers, well there are a few places left that the people are good to you. You all probably have more decent folks over there than we do here in the US, a lot of people over here are plain assholes. Anywho, good deal Graeme, as always bud! Happy Christmas, Happy Holiday's and all that good stuff to you 🎄🤙✌️
A lot of it is about the fast buck nowadays...everyone has sales figures to reach...budgets to keep to etc...so it is a breath of fresh air when Grant gives out lots of tips and information freely...but of course there aren't too many like him....Have a great Christmas/New Year over there on the other side of the pond..
@@TAFishing - yes sir I certainly agree with you about Grant, good guy! Thank you for that, I truly appreciate it, you all take care and have a fantastic holiday season
Grant had a good point regarding tackle shops and customer servive. I know of many people buying rod's on line. There's a fault, it has to be returned by post. Because of the rods length it can only go through the couriers automated delivery system manually. Costing around £40 , check on line ?
Customer service has value, I think its rich when people buy tackle on line, say a reel.
A spring breaks in it walk into the local tackle shop, expecting a tackle shop that doesn't even stock the reel brand to source the part and fix it for pennys.
I think you are bang on. People don't know what I did for a living but it was running a couple of Furniture shops in Fleet so I am always sympathetic towards the small shopkeeper,as I did that for 38 years from the age of 16 .!! I had no internet,no online sales,no website, but I ran the business based on the 3 R's...Replace,Refund,Repair...You wanted the customer coming back in again. Don't get me wrong we all like the best deal we can get ,but when things go wrong now the postal return is often more than the item purchased. At least with a retail shop you can walk in,discuss the problem, and hopefully put it right...So the shopkeeper might be a tad more in purchase price, but the information you can get on all things fishing could be worth a good deal more than the 5 or 10 quid you saved on an internet purchase. You can't ask some internet bot where the best fishing is,or expect advice on whether a wide gape hook is better than a narrow spade end crystal when fishing chopped worm on the inside in the winter. But equally a lot of people are not as forthcoming as Grant is with the tips.
As always Graeme nice video, can't wait for spring to cast the rod again
Well Graeme, i cant thank you enough dear fellow, as a fellow fisherman i find your videos relaxing and full of useful information, ive not been able to get out on yhe bank since being diagnosed with Osteosarcoma of my left leg in 2021, i can escape for an hour or two and forgwt the pain.
Much appreciated 👍👍
Pleased the films have provided some sort of distraction ,more to come hopefully...Got plenty of "Random" section films to go up,I reckon I might start in the New Year. Depends if I get bored with no fishing and any cold weather, then I start going through my film list.
I will look forwards to viewing them buddy.
And if I don't see one this side of Xmas, have a great Christmas 🎄.
Great video, and good info from Grant, always good to get a look at all the options out there.
Hi Graeme,
Great and really generous input yet again from Grant.
Yes it was myself that sent you the Orange Knife etc. Thanks so much that you remembered that. I was unemployed a couple of years ago and unsure of time ahead but as always in life if you are prepared to work hard you will get there and perhaps do something however small for others too.
My Best.
Steve in Fife.
Orange knife still going strong (and not lost yet ! ? ) Also the scissors that dismantle, they are in my boat fishing tackle box,so you should still see in use.
Great advice about keeping warm this season. Ps my wife loves listening to you, she says your voice is very relaxing.
She probably wouldn't be too impressed when I hit my thumb with a hammer in the workshop..! Relaxing voice doesn't come into it.
Nice one Greame the random videoes get better and better each week i just love them, Are going to get a chrismas special?. please!!!😁😁😁😁
I am holding back a load of Country type stuff.I guess I will put it up in the New Year.... No Christmas special ,but just the regular uploads every Friday 7pm. Might have a midweeker next week, but I just have too much work on with other stuff to do filming/fishing/editing.
Hello mate, nice video, always a pleasure to watch, im just getting over a chest infection, always good for a few tips, all the best Greame.
There is a lot of it about..Wifey has had it..I offered to rub some Vick's vapour rub on her chest, but all I got was a clip round the ear ...!!!
Ha ha lol better than a telling off, im planning trip for sataurday, tempted to do some float fishing on the center lake at newdigate, do love some float outings, all the best.@@TAFishing
Another awesome video Graeme!
You and Grant make a great double act!
Graeme, do all fish eat luncheon meat ???
Hello, you will find at least 95% of fish will, and with so many flavours its good to experiment.
@@cliveeariss880 will sea fish eat luncheon meat
@@leethornley2480 Oh thats a good one, not sure about that mate.
You keep talking about Bailies Horse feed. Is this a ground feed or are you grinding it yourself? We have none here in the US. If I were to buy horse snacks & grind them. What favor should I go with? Thanx.
Its just a quality feed for maybe race horses I guess. I just buy it in a 20kg sack.I don't grind it myself. But you could check out chicken feed ,that used to be all the rage years ago,and is a similar texture .It might be a bit plain but you could always add your own flavouring. For that check out the cake making section of your local supermarket. And for various sacks of feed try an Agricultural feed supplier.
