- American Fugitive is a well made game. However, all the running around you do for quests is ZERO fun. It's missing everything you expect! American Fugitive creates a lot of chores that grows boring fast. There are some good ideas like the house robbing mechanic but it's not used in the right way. American Fugitive is boring.

@@LifeOfLeftyMancini I think this game needs little things like interriors, multiplayers, more vechicles (boats), DLCs (zombies, FBI storyline, ...), bigger map and some more. But unfortunetly devs don't update the game cuz they are working on another game, and they left this potential in toilet or smth ikd i am drunk as hell :/

I honestly really enjoyed this game. The physics, musical soundtrack are amazing. and game world is very fun to play in. The story isn’t that bad, honestly. Once you get back to the main story quests, it really gets your heart racing. I actually loved this game

Yea I'm only about 5 hrs into the game and I love the soundtrack and think the game is quite fun. I myself thought this review was kind of whinny and made me not want to check out anything else on this channel.

@@peppageI just bought Rustler for like $4. I think it is a similar game to American Fugitive. It’s like a classic GTA game but set in a medieval time period. The game sort of has a Bully vibe to it. Probably because the main protagonist looks like he is related to Jimmy.
Anyway I don’t want to make this comment longer than what it has to be. All I want to say is I am glad I got it on sale.
This game is perfect especially if you're a original gta fan. This literally plays and looks like GTA PS1 style.
It needs lots of improvement and smarter AI. Could've been better

Best thing for me was the ransacking. Peek through windows, find and use a brick, grab things fast and slink into the night through some bushes. Nothing to do with the story or missions but I can't even pretend to care about the protag, so... I personally liked it but I probably would've been way more disappointed if I didn't get it super cheap.

Jokes on you I got this game for $1.99 at the ultimate sale and I played a little bit before going into work I like it but I see some of your criticisms and I haven't got that far in the story so if it's going to be Fetch quest I don't know how to feel

...GTA I and II weren't really big on story.
For a fiver it was okay. I just wouldn't go in expecting anything remotely close to GTA. I thought the action was spot on, but clear issues surrounding the oversensitive cops and wanted levels. The missions could be chore-like at times, fun at other times. Uninspiring challenges... probably a 6/10 overall.

How can you say so? My expectations are high for everything. Indie game doesn't mean lack of quality. Also this is a pretty high budget indie compared to the much smaller titles I have reviewed.
If I lower my expectations what's the point? Also at this point what AAA game is really living up to expectations?
I didn't agree with you at first but after about 4 hrs I totally agree. The Wanted System is just not fun, you cannot do fckng ANYTHING literally Anything without someone calling the cops. Why be a criminal in a little town that has more police than civilians? Its Stupid.

Lol, how old should I be? I'm almost 40. I remember playing the first GTA, this had none of the chaos when I played. Maybe there was an update

I appreciate your opinion. I get what you mean about the police. But I don't agree with you about the missions being boring or impersonal. If you follow the story and don't skip through dialogue there is good reason for the missions.
I was annoyed by the fact that there were never any cars to steal at peoples' houses..it didn't make any sense. Most people park on their driveway and yet no homes had any cars parked on their driveway. And the cops always being alerted if you didn't break in without a lock pick was annoying. And why there were always dresses being hung up on clotheslines rather than pants and a shirt was also really annoying.
so it's not even worth it when it's on sale for like $2
If it looks interesting to you then I would say try it for $2. A lot of people don't agree with me on the comments and at a lower price it's better
Honestly don’t know how to feel. I want to buy this game because it’s supposed to be better than Rustler, which is apparently saying very little. But I don’t want to buy it because everything you do basically alerts the cops. It’s so hard to find a good top down game that IS NOT turn based combat either. Dysmantle and How To Survive are okay options but one is a hack and collect game through and through and the other is just out dated and pointless because you have no activities to do in HTS1 and no real exploration that isn’t mission based on HTS2. If there was something like gta or fallout full fledged I’d be all about it. But so far even Fallout options are just Wasteland or Atom RPG which are Turn based combat. Give me the tools to make the game I want is how I’m starting to feel. Sorry for such a long comment, I’m tired and bored.

they patched the game and added a lot of new novelties, bug fixes and mechanics like police system or minimap. It is worth it. the bad thing about it is that devs are working on their new game called The Precinct so they stopped updating game for a long time, so there are no mods or multiplayer or DLCs or anything like that. If you bought it already then I wanna know your opinion, if not then buy it, or wait for discount cuz its a little bit too expensive :)

No clue what game you're playing because I cannot survive a single police encounter! I end up dead every time. So your comment about the police being no big deal is false. In fact, the reason I deleted this game is because it's too hard! I cannot stay free long enough to get anything done and then I'm shot and killed by police. It's like Dark Souls in a sand box. Too difficult or me.

@@tjpowell234 true that. I'm currently playing it and the game is amazing. I'm now at 17 hours of play time (in only few days), and still just have unlocked third island. Which means easily 20+ hours of pure joy. Idk what this person have said in "review", but when your first sentence as "reviewer" is "This is a huge disappointment. I regret buying this game.", I didn't even bothered to listen the rest of this amateur. Simply said, yes, its like GTA, a lot of side activities are same as GTA (stunt jumps, challenges: rampages in gta, hidden packages: but way more interesting to get them), even mission location on the map look the same, but this game has "something" in it. A lot of unique stuff that GTA, and any other game of this type don't have. Game also has interesting achievements, side quests, steam trading cards, emotes, backgrounds, if you are into that as well, and in general. GAME IS GOOD! You have currently on Fanatical bundle of 8 games for 4€, including this one, and if you have money, buy it! Trust me, you won't regret. And ignore those highly biased reviews from random people who pretend to be some sort of IGN, Gamespot, or whoever.
Don't skip it because of this guy's review - the game is great!
No matter how cheap you buy it for, this game is not worth a minute of your time. I hate-finished it an hour ago. Repetitive missions, atrocious writing, mechanics that are designed to induce rage in the player, etc. This is a GTA clone sapped of what makes GTA fun. I agree heartily with your review and am surprised at how many people seem to like the game.
