Why do hyundai use a bmw reccy car ?

Because Hyundai doesn’t have their own four wheel drive compact cars. Toyota also used Subarus and Ford used Volvos before.

Just getting into WRC, anyone got any recourses or videos in which I could learn more about the drivers?

WRC have driver's profiles on RUclips, very short videos, I'm not sure if it's what you want. On their website they have a bunch of podcasts titled 'backstories', it's a good one I would say. The one I listened to was with Fourmaux; when he started rallying, how he did medical school while competing, etc.

WRC Podcasts are good, Dirtfish behind the scenes/Bloopers are good, the insta accounts of the drivers and also really good is M-Sports Roadbook and Hyundai Motorsports Liason series. Kalle Rovanperas RUclips channel is also good.

I think the Toyota's will excel on the loose terrain. Hyundai seems to struggle with the loose stuff but we'll see
