Tänak deserves this win. Hyunday almost took it away but the luck told that enough is enough that Ogier has so much luck. It's Tänaks time.

It looks like this in WRC 2024, due to the partial absence of Kalle Rovanperä. Had he been present, the scene would have looked different. The new points system is designed so that Thierry Neuville has a reasonable chance of winning the WRC 2024. Looking back at his previous placings, this system is winning for him.
Having said that, Ott Tänak really deserved this win. 🏁🍾🏆😎👍
Let's remind ourselves, Ott was fighting Ogier here starting from a worse position on Friday. I mean starting order. So the result and the points tell quite an accurate story this time

As cruel is it is for Seb, it's also a redemption for Ott, for the 2019 Sardiia robbery as well as for last month's rally Portugal where he was also in contention for the win until his own puncture. Win some, lose some, that's motorsport. Both deserved to win, but I'm glad it was Ott this time. (PT 1/3)

It's possibly the first season in Toyota's history that they don't have a No.1 driver in terms of mentality.
Evans just doesn't have it.
If I was Latvala, I would bring Kalle full time.
Evans & Taka just can't do the job.
It’s Kalles choice to do partime not Yari Latvala.. It will pay dividends in the future as he’s still young
I think some of these WRC events are getting too rough now. I mean years ago, the Safari rally was the car breaker. Now there seems to be no limits on a course more suited to a Off-Road/4x4 vehicle event.
This is not what International rallying is about IMO.

Finally. there is no crisis in Toyota. And it'd be mad to expect an i20 to win in these 3 rallies. Not impossible, just a lot less likely, because:
1) The Yaris is still the superior car on fast rallies.
2) Thierry starts first, which is clearly a major disadvantage, and even though his speed on fast rallies has improved, he's no Kalle.
3) As much as Ott loves fast and flowing rallies and stages, he clearly doesn't feel cofident enoigh in the i20 to push on fast stages, as Saturday afternoon in Sardinia clearly demonstrated. He even said it himself. I wouldn't be suprised if even Thierry beat him in the next 2 or 3.
4) Kalle is the fastest river on fast rallies and he's starting at the back. EP may have a chance if Kalle makes a chance, but otherwise, Kalle or even Elfyn are much more likely winners in Poland, Latvia and Finland.

Personally I think it is pretty easy win of the championship for Ott this year (I admit I am a bit sad for Neuville for that matter) - it is more like down to a luck only. But next year I expect a fierce fight between Ott and Kalle - it's gonna be much more close at the end of year.

What would happen if 2 people finished at exactly the same time at the top position?
The equipe winning the first stage would have made the difference and would have become the winner.
That sometimes happened in the ages that rally stagetimes were measured only in seconds

However, the point system is a joke. the 0.2 seconds and whether Seb or Ott won made absolutely no difference points wise Yes, all drivers till want the rally wins for the history books. But the wins don't matter at all for the championship and this is just crazy.
Also, if you add up the points using the old points system and compare it to the current scores, Ott would've got 29 and Thierry just 5 points, so Ott would've closed the gap and only been less than 10 points behind. Now Ott got just 25 and Thierry got 12, so the championship gap is 18 points. Mad! You might as well crown Thierry a champion already, he can't be caught with this system, clearly. (PT 2/3)
This uncertainty with Sordo not knowing if he will still be racing or not really sucks... out of respect for him, Hyundai should be more clear with the plans...

Sordo can win a championship.
If Rovanperä have something best to do and skips RWC stage it'll be a good chance for Ott. Otherwise it'll be decided and unfortunately not good for Ott.

Congratulations Hyundai/Ott Tank 👏but as a mad Toyota fan boy I feel so disappointed 😞☹️ Toyota seriously needs to go through 2024 Rally Italy Sardegna entire "Data" with a fine tooth comb coz I strongly believe there is something not right with the GR Yaris, clearly Hyundai cars out performed the Toyota's especially on the last day, if one keenly scrutinizes Sundays Stage times from SS13 till the end of the Wolf Power Stage, 1st Hyundai won all the stages 2ndly Tank kept reeling in Sebastian times like a fish caught in water 😢 Sorry I believe there is "NO" way an 8 times 🌍 champion🏆can keep losing stage times one after the other despite the puncture on the last stage unless something is serious wrong with the car or "sorry 😔" Hyundai are cheating, I know those are very strongly allegations but please somebody (especially from Toyota) explain to me how if it isn't somebody sleeping on the job either on FIA side or on Team Toyota, maybe I might be denial due to a dismissal performance but seriously Toyota needs to find out how all over sudden Hyundai have become extremely faster then them or what's going on 🤔🤔 that said & done once again congratulations to Hyundai/Tank for the win😏, good luck Toyota on the next rally.
