    Great video mate, Very helpful.
    Are there rear drain holes for the sunroof tray? I've unblocked my front drain holes but I'm still getting water ingress.
    I'm doing the hole fix behind A pillar trim now also.
    Thanks again.

      Thanks. I'm not sure about that, mine doesn't have a sun roof, however I would guess there would be one in each corner. Try RRSPORT.CO.UK good forum www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/post626583.html#:~:text=If%20you%20look%20down%20on,small)%20hole%20in%20each%20corner.

    Just had my screen get stuck on logo so found pond of water in the boot On the drivers side so had to dry it out Did look like the boot middle break light spoiler was just replaced and found the new bolt holes and screws had no protection so I’ve cleaned it all up new bolts and bathroom seal so hope it will work.

      Definitely has and I would of had over a 30 mile round trip to the garage, not to mention the charges for repair work.
      I have also learned today how to sort my wiper jets thanks to you.
      A well deserved sub my friend if I lived local I would be getting you a pint 👍cheers 🍻

      A common problem, why they used that type of foam rubber is anyones guess.

      Good luck with the job. It's probably worth doing the passenger side too.

    Just had to do the same thing to my 2013 Disco. Bought the fasteners from Atlantic British. reinstalled and seems to be working. I can take it in the no touch carwash without issue.

      Quite a common problem apparently, knowing what I know now I'd check this area for leaks before checking elsewhere. Glad you got it sorted.

    Great video - does that trim just pop off?

    • @davidbaugh
      @davidbaugh  Год назад +1

      Yes it does, just start at either end and carefully pry it away from the post. If you can use a sturdy piece of plastic....trim removal tool if you have them.

    Thanks David - highly informative - I have a similar problem, so now I know where and how to go searching. Please do a video on the bodywork/preparation/paintwork for the Elan (S3?) - if your description and content is as good as this video it will be priceless for us Chapman Lotus owners.

    Hello, I just bought land rover on 21 nov 2020, model 2009 and guess what, driver side water leak after rainy day, yet to solve the problem and try to stop the water leak.

    • @davidbaugh
      @davidbaugh  4 года назад

      It's a straight forward fix assuming it's the same problem. Just remember it maybe the rubber seal at the base of the windscreen or blocked sunroof drain if you have a sunroof of course. Good luck. 👍

  • @nigelburton3908
    @nigelburton3908 5 лет назад

    Hi mate did you cure the leak? I have exactly the same issue passenger side.

    • @davidbaugh
      @davidbaugh  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Nigel, Yes the repair did the trick. we've had loads of rain recently and no evidence of a leak.
      I believe LR sell a kit to do the repair, which does exactly the same as my repair.
      The worst part is drying out the sponge backed carpet. After I removed the trim I could lift the carpet enough to shove towels in there to soak it all up, took about 4 weeks to get it dry, however I had the hot weather to help.
      Good luck.

    • @nigelburton3908
      @nigelburton3908 5 лет назад

      Thanks for reply, I’ve had a fan heater in there for a few hours drying the carpet, I did find that my pollen filter was soaked when I inspected it, so I think my main issue is water entry through the fresh air duct under the windscreen cowel passengers side, where the rubber seal is warped. Going to do your repair while I’m at it, and going to modify the fresh air duct opening so it has a sort of rain deflector over the top but still allowing air entry. Cheer s nigel.

    Hi David! Nice vid, thanks a lot! Did you already change the cowl top since that? JAG500042PMA

    • @davidbaugh
      @davidbaugh  Год назад +1

      Thanks. I haven't changed the cowl top. It was one of the areas I checked for leaks. They do go a bit discoloured over time, but there are lots of stuff you can use to bring them back to looking new(ish)

    • @Powerer2
      @Powerer2 Год назад +1

      @@davidbaugh I share your thoughts on that, I got myself two kind of plastic renewal products, let's see how they manage to get it look new. So you don't think the bend in this part leads to anything bad except the looks, right? Thanks. I just replaced the left rear door lock actuator yesterday, could share my notes if you are interested. Have a great day.

    • @davidbaugh
      @davidbaugh  Год назад +1

      There is a slight gap on mine, hardly noticeable but isn't leaking. I originally thought it was the source of the leak (I read somewhere it can be) but it wasn't. These plastic covers are fitted to most cars and shouldn't be the source of a leak, it's usually down to blocked drain holes.
      I'd be interested in your replacement of the door actuator, I had my drivers door actuator replaced about 4 years ago. I wish I'd have tackled it myself....next time. Enjoy you weekend too.

    We have created a Range Rover P38 group on FaceBook, WHAT another one i hear you say? Well we set out to try and do something a little different and that is to do things right.! Gone are the wannabe armchair engineers and the trolls that seem to hinder most groups and in will be an admin team that consist of guys who knwo what they are on about and can navigate their way around RAVE to come up with solutions to problems. Its a very fresh group, and its very early days, but with your help we will get there, and not only are we looking for new members, we are looking for experienced guys to join the admin team and help build the group. We can be found here.... facebook.com/groups/925014894688556/
