used your video to check my calc and it matches up exactly (minus a few odd scenarios due to the weird decimal rounding they apply in places). I'm honestly shook you figured all this out iteratively using the lobby dummy lmao, you are an absolute mad man and I respect it completely
Thank you!!! For the entirety of PT4 I was wondering about the specifics and more importantly who would become the absolute legend and figure it out for us. May all your spawns be godly and all your skeleton champions drop golden keys.
This video deserves so many more views my guy. If this equation gets posted to the wiki you better get credited or ima flip harder than when my skeleton ass dies to a fireball.
Heya @Krypton Presents great video, do you know how much the limb multipler is for DR? I've made a google sheet for this based off basic input (class and gear stats) that works great i've just assumed the limb multiplier is 0.5 for DR? Cheers
docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1SiwKYdeQUkN_tWge1XXc8OMZkulwH7ELMOZKquKjn1s/edit?usp=sharing Started adding some spell/skill modifiers too but based off tooltip explanation hard to say exactly how they work in the calculations..
Nice video. Any idea where the spell buffs (Ignite, Divine Strike) sit in the damage equation? They certainly add more than 10 damage, but I can't tell if they're affected by the recipients modifiers or if they scale with the casters' Willpower.
Divine Strike adds +Weapon Damage, so it get's added in at the very start of the equation, on top of your actual weapon damage value and any other +WD enchants. Then goes through an increase from Physical Power and Addtl Phys. That's why it comes out more than 10 damage. Seems like Weapon Damage tends to give 2 damage per point as a general rule of thumb.
I was wondering if additional physical damage was being added to base damage and multiplied by physical power but it seems like only +x weapon damage is actually being effected by the multiplier. I guess if you have a lot of physical power bonus its better to look for gear with +x weapon damage... if you don't have a lot of physical power then +x Additional and +x True is better. Since True Damage is added post mitigation it's best to stack it if you are struggling against heavily armored enemies and probably best for faster hitting weapons with low initial hit damage.
Perfectly said. However, as long as your physical power bonus is not negative, then the value coming in from the weapon damage will always be slightly higher than the value coming in from the enchant. Ultimately all of the different modifiers really end up coming out to about the same expected damage. If you take the equation and start adding different tests to it, you’ll see that your end result is nearly always about the same. With some variation based on the rest of your gear, but surprisingly minimal difference really
I bet if I ran some realistic numbers that would easily get above 200 damage. I mean my Ranger buddy was hitting 146 damage headshots with a RECURVE bow hahah
@@kryptonpresents2875 that was on a green or blue warm maul. I saw a streamer with a 70 ish base dmg war maul (orange quality). Maybe drunken monk video Yeah the swing sucks
They may have very well changed it, but last I checked the damage formula was known for a while and true dmg doesn't get increased by hit location multipliers, because it gets added at the very end of the calculations. This is why added true damage is not good at all, compared to added physical damage. This video's just wrong or incomplete or both.
Yea I added the true damage at the end of the equation. It doesn’t get impacted by anything. This video is correct, otherwise I would run the math in multiple scenarios and end with the correct damage value. If you work the equation and test the difference between Weapon Damage, Addtl Phys, Phys Power, and True, what you’ll find is that they all pan out pretty close to the same actually. True is a bit better vs. high armor rating, but weapon damage remains the biggest factor, but it’s a lot closer than you’d think. Try out the equation yourself and you’ll see it’s spot on.
I made a video breaking down how to go about gearing up a fighter. Check it out:

So glad to hear that it worked out, always worried someone will prove my method incorrect and render the video useless lol. Stoked to hear it brother

Nice video! Next playtest I will try to see how fireball and ignite DoT are affected by additional and true magical damage.
hey do you know how Rogue's Rupture, Weakpoint Attack and Ambush works with the equation?
I personally haven't played Rogue but I will certainly look into it next playtest and make a guide on it.
@@kryptonpresents2875 if you have figure it out, please make a guide on it
How you figured this out baffles me
same lmfao
the equation is missing armor penetration..?
