I know that a lot of people hate The Twin Snakes but if all you had access to back in the day was a Gamecube it's not a bad way to play the original Metal Gear Solid. I mean as far as remakes go it could have been A LOT worse. All things considered it's not half bad.
The massive graphical overhaul should qualify it as a fantastic port period. This is what a remaster is. Maybe I’m wrong. I’m old school but I hated the ps1 era 3D graphics.

Metal Gear REX is the offspring of Huey Emmerich’s Metal Gear ZEKE & Metal Gear Sahelanthropus. ZEKE main body resembles REX’s body. And Sahelanthropus cockpit. Only ZEKE had a Jetpack, had an AI that was made of all of the Unnmaned Gears Memory Boards, and was more agile. Sahelanthropus was had no pilot it was controlled by Psycho Mantis’ powers alone. I’d repair them then redesigned them with Carbon Nano-Tube Muscle Fibers to make room for more Weaponry like the redesigned unmanned RAY was. But also piloted manually too. I’d love to pilot the Giant Gears and take on Hordes of unmanned Gears,
Sorry but for me the best Metal Gear, even if mechanics are broken. So much charisma that makes the game as a whilr great movie. The psx version was revolutionary. This one just perfected the mgs2 style in acrazy bump ride.
One thing i hate about this game is how snake flips sround everywhere its really jarring considering in the original metal gear snakes movements are way more grounded

These aren’t as good as the originals to me mainly due to the music. I know they probably wanted every MGS game to have a unique soundtrack but they should’ve at least kept MGS1’s soundtrack for the remake of it. Also the Ocelot hand chop. WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT?!!
Probably not a great remaster overall, but I DO still kinda like the small touches, like Snake nodding at the camera when Psycho Mantis asks you to put your controller down

Twin Snakes was a massive upgrade to the original PS1 version. I could've done without all the little extra action "flourishes" in the cutscenes, but still, seeing the game on the same graphical level as MGS2 at the time was a real eye-opener. I think the biggest flaw in this game is the over abuse of stylish action and, being a remake, the lack of the original music. I know the later games had this kind of music, but MGS1's music was special on it's own
