This was the song that made me realize the power of live music and my love for it. I was like 5-6 years old and my family had just moved into our new house. One night we were all talking and hanging out before bed in what would become our family room, we were just sitting around on what we had set up, there was stuff everywhere. At some point my dad opened up this guitar case which was sat next to the couch on his side on the floor. It was a 1950 Gibson L5. I didn’t know anything about anything. But when he picked that up he started playing this song and the impact that experience had on me totally changed my life. He may have played in front of me before that but for me that was my first memory of him doing that and it was incredible. I went on to play drums he bought me my first set at 9yrs old. I’m 39 now and picked up guitar about 5 years ago. He gave me that Gibson a couple years ago. Almost brings tears to my eyes when I think about it. My uncle used to own a venue called the Skyline Lounge. He still plays now and then in his band Lyle Grobe & The Rhythm Ramblers. I only wish I was into guitar when I was young it would’ve been great to have something like that to bond over.
I think in the end you guys bonded over music in general. That is plenty to be happy about :) He bought you your first drum set because he wanted you to have the tools to succeed in that. Hope you guys have jammed before!!
Your father gave you a 1950 Gibson L5!?!?!? Well I dare say there's no better way to say he loves you than that, unless he gives you a Byrdland or a 59 Les Paul Burst!!!
That was a thing of beauty!. From the bluesy to a little Spanish back to blues and then the overdrive with the wah turned a simple song into mini masterpiece. 👏👏👏
I'd like to see him have a jam with that guy Maximilian that plays guitar for The Main Squeeze. They are similarly tasteful and while also extremely skilled and technical .
Ok I love the guy but he is not the best guitar player alive, it's gotta be eric gales or...............anyone near that guy lol eric gales man gotta study him but seriously with jeff beck and evh gone it's very hard to say who is the best alive but eric gales is mine and Sean Mann is easily the best bluesy guitarist on youtube right now.
This guy can make that guitar SING. Literally. Quite a few times I thought I was actually hearing the words. UN-freeking-BELIEVABLE. I say again: Sean is likely the BEST guitar player on the planet. THEE BEST !
You just covered so many different styles and methods of playing in this one song it absolutely blows my mind absolute perfection !!!! ……. Damn I need to start playing more.!!!!
It's the best performance and touching. Thank you for always giving me the strength to spend my day listening to your performance. I wish you good health and happiness..
I've only discovered your channel recently. I have made a couple of comments on some of your other videos, but this one does it for me. This is original. You've pulled on your experience and created something different. I love this. This is brilliant. I just subbed.
A thing of beauty! Your playing is flawless! I always look forward to listening to your playing, you always leave me floored. I hope the young guitar players find you on IG or RUclips and learn to become players like you. God bless brother! Keep being an inspiration to the world!
EPIC! love watching and listening to your play! I have enjoyed both Little Wing and Along the Watch Tower courses. They have helped me play both songs immensely! This would be a "hit" course! Based on the comments below - many, myself included would scoop this up! MAN THAT WAS GOOD!
Absolutely love the combining of the acoustic & electric guitar !!! What a great combined sound for the song.... did I mention ...- DAMN , CAN YOU PLAY SOME WICKED SMOOTH GUITAR !!!

Simply amazing Sean ….. very well put together here with all your editing. How you do not have a million or more subscribers is still lost on me . Wishing you all the best Mr.Mann , and always looking forward to more of what you share 😎👍
loved the transition to the wah voicing! Equally cool was the classical guitar piece which sets the room for the lift in energy for the wah... Just great feel in that pick hand and equally adapted to various techniques. Well done!
A virtuoso tour-de-force bravura performance that showcases the melodic mastery of Sean Mann expressed through the distinctive voice of a Fender Stratocaster in full cry, tastefully interspersed with nylon-string classical guitar pyrotechnics, all conjured up with the same pair of gifted hands.
I have studied the "greats" of modern guitar music my entire adult life. I am just stunned here. What else is there to say.
Thanks a lot!
I don't see how anyone can watch this and not offer superlatives.
